Very good value note the box does say light garden work! – easy assembley, noise is not bad at all even on turbo. Picked up all the leaves, twigs and nuts from my garden and I found it very easy to operate and not too heavey at all. Overall so far this as shown to be excellent for the price and what it does. Show details

If only it sucked up leaves – Well this has to be one of my more poorer choices from the Ryobi range. I had high hopes that it would vacuum up small leaves... in my rather large garden. It makes all the right noises, but it just doesn't pick up leaves efficiently. When I have a thousand leaves on the ground, I don't want to have to hold the vacuum over every single leaf and… Read more

wait for it to be picked up and then move onto the the next one (999 to go). So to sum up, the nozzle is too small and the vacuum not powerful enough - simples. Looks like I'm back to the drawing board with blowing all the leave into my neighbour's yard ;-) I'm giving the Ryobi vacuum a 3/10 (2 of those points are for looks and build quality).

Good product, does exactly what its supposed to – Blower is solid however its a little heavy if used for a long period but use the strap and it takes the slack. I have a 800 sq block and on first go it picked up two bags of heavy wet leaves from soil , grass and driveway and mulched them well. It went through two batteries on medium power however there was a lot to get through. Build quality is… Read more

good , all the hard plastics feel like they will last. There are three settings for suction although the highest setting eats the batteries , no different than my Dyson!. All in all the product does the job and if you are in the Ryobi ecosystem its a good affordable buy. I would recommend two batteries for larger yards. I found the assembly simple and put it together in 10 mins.

Not great value – Vacuum hasn’t really ever worked and the whole thing has packed up now - probably 3 years old and hardly used. My experience is consistent with the overall review score for this product  Show details

Dubious at first, but impressed after using it! (tip buy a spare 5.0Ah battery) – I was dubious of a battery operated blower vac but fed up with my petrol blower not starting and had bought a Ryobi Drill that included a 5.0Ah battery which lasts for ages. So, thought why not try a battery blower vac? Sure it's not as powerful as petrol or electric but for a regular sized city garden it's actually pretty good and does suck up… Read more

leaves and blow well when you press and hold the Turbo button.

Tip: You will need 2 or 3 batteries if you use Turbo a lot.

avoid it - not worth the price – After seeing all thenegative reviews on this I should have avoided but thought to give it a try. it's a big one to assemble and took some time to get through the assembly. Certainly expected an easier installation from ryobi. Plastic seems cheap andnot sturdy enough. Trying it out - it works well with dry leaves but struggles with hedge green… Read more

leaves and strugles more on pebbles. But what surpised me was 1 - the bag came loose while using, only to find out it's using cable tie to put it in place and I needed to replace it with a new cable tie!!. 2 - the vacc doesn't work in the middle as something (maybe the motor) get jammed also the vacc/blower switch is jammed. I have to manuall adjust vacc and blower and get the jamemd leaves off to get it back into operational shape. I'm going to return it as it's clearly not worth the price and in the end I'm doing most of the job myself.

Live without this one ! – This blower / vac could not blow or suck the skin off a wet custard ! I feel totally ripped off. Even its tiny little "Turbo" button, poorly located, is uneventful and produces nothing more than a blast of more noise and little performance. Show details

It works but can get clogged easily – I have been a committed Ryobi one+ 18v user and all previous tools have all worked ok. I found it was difficult to assemble, an elderly or restricted person would need assistance as it requires a fair amount of force to engage the components. While this unit is lighter than the electric unit is replaced, even with the strap it can get a bit… Read more

heavy. The blower works ok while not as powerful as my stand alone ryobi blower, but it does the job. The Vac feature is where I encountered problems, if you restrict it to just small leaves then there is no problem, but if it happens to pick up a small twig or large leaves it becomes blocked, to clear the blockage you need to disassemble unit, this requires considerable strength and is not easy to do by yourself. The bottom line, if you want a unit for just blowing and sucking up small leaves its ok, beyond that look elsewhere.

Useless – No power at all. The wind blows more than is blower. Vac is even worse, lucky if it sucks up a single leaf at all. Total a waste of money Show details

Bitterly Disappointed – I've owned a Homelite petrol blower for over 10 years. It makes the OBV1800 look like it isn't working. The OBV1800 fails as a blower and most of all as a vacuum. It simply doesn't produce the air flow or suction to do the job. After 30 mins using this, it will go back to Bunnings. It's just been a waste of my time and money. All I want to do is blow / pick up dried gum leaves off a pathway.
