Good for short grass and/or small lawns – I bought this mower for $149 at Bunnings with a 2 year warranty. It stopped mid-use after approximately 15 months, so I was given a refund. Build quality is fine, but the handlebar and its connection to the mower are quite flimsy. Overall I'd say this is a good price for what you get, with the expectation that it will only handle light duties. … Read more
Due to its small size, it is easy enough to manoeuvre, however this has some drawbacks. The maximum height is not tall, so it is only really suitable for short grass. It would be great if you have a slow-growing lawn or mow very often, but if you have grass that is higher than your ankle, I would recommend a taller mower. Due to its small width, you will need to do more passes to get the same area of lawn done, but this is a trade off for a manageable size.
The power is adequate, but more would have been better, and would have helped to overcome its small size. Unfortunately the 1800w version was only available in New Zealand at the time of purchase, which I now think would have been perfect.
This is a plug-in mower, so the only thing to manage is the length of extension chord. The catcher is small-medium, so I would empty it once for the front yard, once for the side, and once for the back. I used this only on flat terrain, and on a mix of clover and buffalo grass.
waste of time and money – These mowers are a load of rubbish, I am lucky if I get 10 minutes out of my mower before it goes frlat, used to be a fan of ryobi wont bother, overpriced load of rubbish Show details
The perfect ladies mower! – I love my little ryobi mower. Being a single lady living on a 470m2 flat block this mower does the job perfectly. It runs for about 40mins when my kikuyu grass isn't crazy long and cuts shorter grass with ease. It does struggle when my grass is very long which I think is pretty normal. This is easy to manoeuvre seeing as it's not overly big and heavy. It folds down nicely for storage also. Overall would purchase again. Show details
Electric motor is unprotected and can get jammed with straw – I was reasonably happy with this mower with moderate use for over a year, although it does clog quickly with even slightly damp grass. Unfortunately though, it can suck clippings into the motor housing and jam the electric motor. When this happened and I unscrewed the motor housing, I was shocked to find it nearly full of old dried grass… Read more
clippings (straw). There is zero shielding for the electric motor and the straw and dirt is able to work its way inside the motor and jam it up.
A bit gutless, but still adequate for my small lawn – At least it has a steel blade, unlike Ozito! VERY light and easy to manoeuvre. Not much guts, but the finished job looks OK. Not great but is adequate so far. Show details
Easy to use – We use this mower on our yard at home, it’s a small flat yard and this mower is easy to use making the job of mowing easy. It’s easy to put together and once it’s ready to use it’s easy to start and easy to manoeuvre, it’s light amd easy to clean and store away. It has a safety on the handle and a 2 part starting process for safety too. Being… Read more
electric is great as it means no need to ensure you have fuel on hand and no fumes either.
The catcher is easy to attach and remove too.
We have clump grass and buffalo grass and it cuts it with ease.
It will cut wet grass but it clogs up easily and finds it harder to cut through.
Worst battery powered on the market – Worst mower battery on the market. Took over 160 minutes charging for 30 minutes mowing... Could not believe it. Worst performance on the market Ryobi customer service, after numerous emails proved totally unhelpful Show details
Gutsy – I had this mower 6 months. The height adjuster seems to be for display only but if the grass is kept short there's no need for it. Never used the catcher, the mulcher is installed and works perfectly. After use it is easy to upend and scrape away the tacky stuff from around the blades and the mulcher. Ive managed to cut patches of thick buffalo by… Read more
pulling the mower backwards. The cord is a trick to manipulate and needs constant awareness. Today I flicked the cord and somehow managed to lift the mower enough for the cord to flick underneath instantly cutting it in half. There was no damage to the blades or the mower, the electricity didn't blow. I was up and running a few minutes later with a new cord. Love this little machine.
Perfect for small areas – Easy to put together, easy to use. Works best on even ground. Mentions a mulching plug but doesn't say it is already installed in the rear, so there's no need for the catcher. Mulching plug works great although it needed the crusted dirt chipped off after use. Cable clips not in the bag but already installed on handle. Says it has height… Read more
adjustment with the lever at front wheel but I've not been able to change it, although the cutting height is fine the way it is as long as the grass is always maintained. Comes with 4 year warranty. Very happy with this little electric mower.
Just Purchased from Bunnings – I just purchased an electic corded lawn mower . It was easy to put together just attach handles you need a heavy duty long power cord.It mulched up the lawn clippings tiny.I did not even use the catcher.I used it on the highest cut because i like my lawn to stay green.Hopefully it last a few times as i dont know how to fix things.to keep it clean… Read more · 1

Good mower for small yards – Bought it a few days ago mowed the lawn great. I had 2 other brand's AC mowers both lasted years. These AC electric mains powered units are simple, easy to use, powerful and quiet. The ryobi was more expensive then my older mower but glad i got it the blade is bigger with a higher power rated motor ,has better wheels and lever height adjustment,… Read more
ergonomic ambidextrous control, the grass catcher is more secure , the plastic mouldings are really well designed, it has a power cord hook built into the trigger, the handle is easy detached for storage. The ryobi is more refined in every way than the previous AC powered mowers i have used. Does the job well.
