The battery dies at 50%. The unit loses Internet connection at random times which is usually when I am working on something important. Customer service is quite efficient at saying they are sorry but very poor when it comes to fixing the problem. I have been waiting for three weeks with no resolution or response from them. I am disappointed with the connectivity of my Ryoko device. Although I live in Canada, it keeps defaulting to towers in the USA. Yes, I am close to the US, on the southwest corner of Vancouver Island, BC. The closest cell towers all belong to Freedom Mobile. My cell phone hotspots faster than the Ryoko, has better connectivity for streaming online… Read more · 1
content. The Ryoko device constantly buffers and is slow. It was super easy to set up and get started using the device. That is one benefit, but the website only offers the ability to add data or renew. At the current renewal rate of over $200 CA for 6 months renewal (which is more than double their introductory pricing) I have no desire to extend my plan. There's no way to prioritize connectivity or recalibrate for alternative towers.
This is by far the best portable WiFi I have ever seen! I’ve had my share too! This works where others won’t, this connects where others fail, & it’s LESS EXPENSIVE than the others too! Hands down, I love it! Show reply

Well l thought it would be slow and unrealiable , upto now its impressive , dont buy from valentique-shop , its a scam , claim to have delivered , put in safe place , l asked for proof , non given , problem with tsb , wont refund payment , section 75 ? , say it went through paypal , but not my account ? . Ryoko is compact and easy to set up and use. It acquires a 4g network relatively quickly and by viewing the information on the router page the Ryoko can be moved to achieve optimum performance. I bought this to provide a temporary Internet solution… Read more · 1

The Ryoko seems to freeze after about a week of continuous running time. I don't know if this is a consequence of having it on continuous charge? This problem is always successfully resolved by a reboot.
The only suggestion I would have to improve Ryoko would be to have an option to manually select a particular network from a list of available networks.
Follow-up · Since my initial review I have received a Ryoko docking station. This seems to prevent the weekly lock ups that I was experiencing and now rarely locks up. As per my initial review, I personally believe it would be beneficial to be presented with a list of available networks with an option to manually select one. This is because I have found some networks to be more reliable than others.

When the power goes out and disconnects me from my other source of internet connection, I have the Ryoko Pro for a backup. Also works when we travel out of my home area. This is my second Ryoko because of satisfaction with an older model. Yes, really like the way the new one works...much better! Show reply
I have previously written a very positive review for simplicity of operation from the initial startup, and realize that for the travel that I do and different settings I find myself in it is perfect for phone, laptop, etc. Not strong enough to give quality to my smart Roku TV at this writing. I really like my router..id recommend it to anyone who has issues with the big Internet companies,or just want to make sure you've always have Internet.. understand that I had to scan the green square with my phone.. I'm not that smart(haha)...my fault not Ryoko s... I don't get very many dropouts...my fault again...check the battery status...and I shut it off when 5 go to bed to make sure it stays charged overnight.sorry no video.
Very happy with my Ryoko, it does a great job when I'm at the trailer and getting service can be a real issue! I'm not overly impressed with the case however, getting the Ryoko back out of the case once it's in there is a real challenge. Overall I'm very happy with this product. Show details · 1

I was anxiously waiting for my ryoko and loved it instantly but soon found out that I needed to up my unlimited plan with an extra 25 dollars to have a whole month's worth of programs without a lot of buffering so instead of 15 dollars a month it will be 40 but that is still a good deal so I will be trying that next and if it will work as good as it did a few days I will be able to give a full 5 stars! can't wait to be able to do so!
