Samsonite Cubelite

Wheels fallen off within 1 week – I recently purchased a Samsonite Lite Cube 76cm Case Champagne from Strandbags Melbourne. I flew a domestic flight from Sydney to Darwin within the week of purchase and 1 of the wheels had fallen off. I don't think the airline is completely to blame and reading the last 2 reviews it appears that there are serious manufacturing defects with this range.

Samsonite Lite Cube Large 82cm Hardside – I bought This bag in April, used it on only two trips and as i go to retrieve my luggage at an airport baggage claim, the wheel falls off. Then I'm told the warranty only covers the structure of the case, not the wheels. A $900+ case and it falls apart after 4 months. Not worth the money, and the warranty is misleading.

Poor quality and even worse customer service – Bought an expensive Samsonite suitcase for reliability and peace of mind. The zip failed on the first trip abroad and customer service made no reasonable attempt to help. When I landed abroad I contacted Samsonite AU's customer service for advice on how to get repaired while abroad. I waited a couple of days for a standard response that only specified Australian repairers (despite me putting all of the details in the email and stating I was abroad without a usable suitcase). I sent a follow-on email explaining I was abroad yet again but only got their response when arrived home after buying a bag to carry my luggage home. Not the durability or customer service I expected on a ~$800 suitcase.

[UPDATE[ This was originally a one-star review but, to their credit, Samsonite, did take responsibility. After another couple of repairs, I was offered a full refund. Still, not the quality I expected but taking responsibility and admitting they didn't meet their quality aspirations was a refreshing change.
