Can my Samsung BD e8500a record in High definition.

Although it.is connected as illustrated it says no or weak signals what can I do?

This is usually a problem on how you connect the TV aerial to the Samsung machine. I did not have any problems like you are experiencing. I suggest that you test the the cable by connecting the TV aerial cable directly to the TV, and if you don't have any problems with seeing channels on your TV then you can rule the cable itself. Then make sure that you have the cable plugged into the correct aerial socket at the back of your Samsung. Sometimes, the cables can be mixed up depending on the type of cable ends you have. It is possible to plug the aerial cable into the TV aerial output side of your Samsung machine, when it should be the input side, and then the input to the TV, especially if the cable end is the wrong one on the cable you are using. If neither of those things work, then I would then look at the unit itself--good luck with that.

Unit turns on and off, also freezes while watching recorded programme. Any ideas?

I gave up trying to deal with this model. I have since bought a Humax 1 Tb PVR which has allowed me to record up to 4 different programmes simultaneously. In the last 12 months I have had no problems with this unit. It has been a real find! I gave up on the Samsung.

Does anyone have issues with 3d blue ray movies stopping randomly? I have the samsung bd e8900a pvr and the samsung 6400 smart tv tv

Yes same here, although my real issue is losing TV signal that has needed a repair! Fifth time it's lost them, now out of warranty; awful product and aftersales, AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I cannot answer this but mine just turns off and on even if you don't turn it on. I run my TV through it and recently has started turning itself to standby. i think at the time it cost me $600.00 or there abouts. even thought it was over heating so i cleaned the dust from the rear. but still the same problem. i dont play DVDS on it.

You can download any Samsung App onto the Bluray player, but I had a look and can't find an NBA app.
