Done with samsung – tablet seemed good value to begin with. Soon found the tablet locks me out every month (known fault with unlock screen) meaning I lose work. Got the dreaded moisture detection bug just under a year from purchase, and now it is a useless brick. Inexcusable design faults that should have been fixed YEARS ago. Had a number of Samsung and Apple… Read more

products. Going back to a laptop and Nokia. They do their respective job a billion times better than this garbage. Edit: finally started recharging again 2 days ago. So I bought a usb c-> hdmi adaptor and discovered that usb video output was removed from this model (previous model had this). What junk!

How many times do I have to tap the d88n thing? – Most useless screen ever. Tapping, tapping, tapping, swipe swipe swipe. Where the he'll is the keyboard?. Why is the supplied charger not optimal ie charges slowly? I don't think Apple have anything to worry about.

Terrible performance – I use my tablet for my social media, some photos, email, Spotify, and a couple of basic Microsoft Apps. After about six months to a year after purchase, the tablet started crashing occasionally and it got more and more frequent. Have done two factory resets and formatted the 180 GB SD card I have in it. Still has not resolved the extremely… Read more

annoying problem. Happens at least twice every time I use it. Would not recommend this tablet to anyone. It's quite slow and often the keyboard can't keep up with the typing either. Most of the time I have it on to display a reference photo for drawing as I am an artist and it is fine sitting there, but if I try and use it, it gets itself in knots and crashes.

Great Tablet – I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab A, I was a bit skeptical at first as most of my friend have I pads. When I got my tablet home and in boxes it I was pleasantly surprised it had a very nice look and feel to it. I have been using it for a few months now, it has never disappointed me The feel and look is great, it's really fast so I can have… Read more

things running in the background and it doesn't seem to slow it down. It has a phone card slot so I'm always able to connect to the internet. The screen quality is very good, even in bright sunlight you can see the screen, all in all I am very happy with my tablet. Thank you Samsung.

Have modest expectations – I bought 2x Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0" Wifi that were significantly discounted; one for my elderly mother who needed a bigger screen than her mobile phone to play WeChat games, and one for myself to read ebooks. The best thing about the tablets is their long battery life, even if they've been left in standby mode and not turned off. The build… Read more

quality is nice too, though the top and bottom bezels are a bit big at 1.6cm each. Screen resolution is at first disappointing when you're used to your phone's sharpness, but you get used to it and it's perfectly fine for reading. They're limited machines, so you can't overload them with too many apps. My mother only uses hers for WeChat mini games, which aren't that intensive, and still, she complains of lags/freezes every now and then. Most of the time though, it is working well for her purposes. For reading ebooks and playing audiobooks, I'm happy with mine. However, its performance for something as basic as browsing the internet is dissatisfying at times, with noticeable lag. Eg. when loading more items on certain shopping sites and scrolling. These tablets will suit kids and those with minimal requirements like us, but still, I can't imagine anyone would be too happy if they paid full price (over $200) for them.

Ready, set, go (Home Schooling) – So the start of Term 2 WA Remote Learning/School starts. It comes as a no surprise, as we did it in the last 3 weeks of Term 1 2020. What's new? We have upgraded 3 x our Primary Schoolers' Samsung Galaxy Tab A (7.0", Wi-Fi) 8GB 2016 (SM-T280) models to this beast. The older models were showing their age, being hammered by the kids, these past… Read more ·  2

years. Noticed that on-board space {1.5 GB RAM) was becoming an issue, even using the SD card storage for offline storage. Still OK for your general kids app usage, but started to notice it was getting laggy with school apps on-top.

Easy to set up, just simple to work out, it helps knowing what to look for as we are from a line of Samsung devices family.

The only thing difficult is finding kid themed covers, so went for the usual one colour variety, as the local Phone Shops stores advised due to COVID-19, stocks are being delayed for this newer model. Surprised, as thought this device had been out for at least a year?. No matter.

Highly recommended device for the home/kids/or folks looking for a nice sized tablet that is the best value in its class, being best bang for buck.

Rating it 5 our 5, a little over the top? We shall see in the coming weeks, where I'll review the scoring after much kids use, not expecting to be disappointed. Hearing the kids squeals of excitement, as they see and play their new tablets for the first time is 5 out of 5, hands down.

FAST AND EASY TO USE – Just a quick edition to my review here, the Security updates are done regularly so far which I'm happy about, not sure how long that will last though, the warranty is also for 2 years not 1 or at least that is what Officeworks told me. I purchased this tablet in October 2019 and have had no problems with it so far. The tablet gets both security… Read more ·  1

and software updates from Samsung regularly and so far updating apps is no problem either.

I use the tablet mainly for emails and streaming some shows and reading news online. The screen is easy to see and very clear and I have no problems in working out settings although it is a bit different from my previous tablet I have managed to understand what the new wording means as Samsung call things a different name.

There are a lot off apps from Samsung on the tablet half off which I dont use and I have disabled but this does not stop them from updating themselves without my okaying it and there is no way to stop that unfortunately.

If you want a tablet with less apps from the manufacturer I suggest you buy a different one. Also Samsung insist on you using there own Internet anything that you want to look at from Gmail will automatically default to Samsung Internet not Google Chrome.

Can be slow but great for kids – My daughter received this for Xmas. It is a great tablet for watching and streaming and playing games. Great for kids – The tablet is used for our 4 year old daughters video viewing on the YouTube kids app. It more than satisfies our needs playing smoothly with great sound, graphics, battery life. and smooth trouble free operation. It is a perfect size for little hands. The only complaint is that we found that a solid childproof case can be difficult to come across. Show details ·  1

and still it’s horrendous. Please get something decent and not this. I went back to JBHIFI for a refund as it’s clearly faulty and it needs to go for assessment first. Every other place in Perth you can take an item back and get a refund when it’s faulty. Samsung make you send it for assessment hoping you give up and not get a refund. Absolute reprobates.

Great cheap tablet – Good quality and reliable tablet. Battery life is great. I bought this mainly for reading watching movies or tv shows on netflix. We have many phones and tablets in our household, all in the same environment which is not moist in anyway and the only one that has a problem is Samsung tablet. Currently the only way to charge it is to sit the tablet and the charge lead in front of a hair dryer for 10 min to heat it up. How are we ever going to charge this tablet in the car or camping without a hairdryer, it hasn't rained for weeks and is dry as bone here.

Good value tablet – Bought this to help in our son's home schooling. Originally wanted to get an ipad mini but for a big price difference, decided to give this one a go.
