you are planning to watch mainly video content as usually there are 2 black bands on top and bottom which cut the video size. You need 16:9 aspect ratio for full size video viewing

Tablets reached the point of being usable as notebooks – My intention on buying this tablet was for my wife stop using a notebook, and being able to have a device usable as tablet and yet comfortable and capable of handling a keyboard and mouse for longer work interaction (managing emails, editing and submitting documents, managing spreadsheets, basic browsing on nowadays working online systems, etc).… Read more

We tried a Windows Surface first, which is very usable as a notebook but awful as a tablet (windows 10 is just not ready to be used as mobile plataform. Its on-screen keyboard is terrible, you can't install any other keyboard app, all the windows interface is not meant to be operated by other than a mouse. Not to mention the data usage Windows do, way less efficient than any "natively mobile systems" such as Android and iOS).

That said, the experience with the Samsung Tab S2 is being very pleasant. It has its downsides as well, mostly around the office app versions being harder to manage on an Android tablet than on a Windows system. But other than that, this tablet is performing the required functions with great performance and all the online/cloud applications are providing the extra connectivity to files and repositories you won't be able to create on the device itself.

The 4G capability was a plus, not required. Using a mobile data plan from Telstra makes it very easy to be connected in any situation. The app that connects to a Telstra Wi-Fi saving Mobile Data usage works very well as well.

But since this SIM Card is DATA-Only, I would like to disable the SMS and Phone capabilities of the Tablet but I can't do that unless I root the device and go into the obcure (yet free) world of unwarranted devices.

was purchased. It had much of its internals including battery replaced. Towards the middle of the second year ditto and returned. Now just as the warranty is due to end --bingo ---same problem. One would have thought by now, obviously its a DUD and a replacement might be offered. Oh no --it has been returned once again to service to get their approval that a replacement is due. The inconvenience of travelling to the Dept Store and the loss of use, results in a negative review. (apart from the fact that if replaced I will only be offered a boring black because the only 2 white ones are in same Store in Queensland -

Not happy!

I use it as my super sized phone – So I added my Telstra SIM into this tablet and I use it as my phone. I use phones mainly for web browsing, app's and streaming so I figured why not supersize! public. It's a great sized screen to view movies on especially at night when I can't be bothered lugging around my widescreen laptop. As I've been using this phone tablet "phablet" for 1 year and 4 months I've come across a few issues;

1) obviously, it won't fit into small handbags or pockets!

2) it is very awkward to take selfies unless you place the phone down somewhere and use the timer, luckily I'm not a keen selfie taker ;-)

3) as I keep my phablet in a book cover, I seem to holding it awkwardly supporting the phablet's weight with my left thumb against the bottom left of portrait phablet, this thumb now has been giving me pain for the last week. I use my right hand to swipe text.

Still no regrets, and if I needed a "disco phone" I can easily buy a cheap, small android phone to take out to clubbing/festivals and switch SIMs.

A solid tablet – I bought this tablet in 2017. It's a very nice looking and thin device. The main purpose was to complement my university studies with my laptop. I often use it to store documents while travelling and to watch movies while on the go. The downside is that my tablet sometimes freezes and becomes unresponsive for some time. It has a fingerprint reader which is on the home button but maybe it's just for me, it's quite inaccurate.  Show details

Most excellent tablet I ever had, and the lightest too – This tablet even after so many years after its release is a real piece of art, the display does the job. I could not imagine anything better for daily usage and watching movies. Unfortunately you have to pay for the quality so it’s not cheap and doesn’t get any cheaper with time. more I use the android system, the more I enjoy the flexibility of that system.

The battery began to fail after about 2.5 years but I had extended warranty and received a brand new one with two more years warranty with the option of buying more extended warranty. I had used the tablet for many, many hours and felt it owed me nothing, so was more than happy with that.

Nice size, not a great device – I love this device for size when reading and using Facebook etc. (A bit small for watching TV shows but ok). Have had a few issues with the product however - volume button jammed and had to be sent for repair. Also a few glitches and freezes from time to time. Great pad but wished had the cel one – I use the Samsung galaxy s 2 a lot around the house watching movies and downloading loads of things and even music but wish I had bought the cell one so I could take it out from the house which is its only limitation! Apple devices I have to google and download 5-10 apps to find something that actually works and it does not work well.

Trying online help and forums is useless with Andriod as there are so many different models and Versions to advise NEVER works for my model.

The fact that I can not buy a cable or converter to get this to just mirror on a TV makes this device a waste of $500. Utterly useless. If I can not sell it I may just try and make money on YouTube by posting a video of me smashing it to pieces with a hammer.

Perfect for travel – This tablet has become indispensible when travelling as it is compact, has good battery life and can be charged with any standard android phone charger. It accepts a lot of apps and I use it for navigation on land and sea. The only negative is that it doesn't have a USB port so this limits it's communication with other devices, however the SD card gives you great storage capacity for photos etc.  Show details

cracked, the whole tablet didn't work. That really put my off. Went to Samsung and it only got worse when they quoted HALF the tablet's value to replace the screen. My kids have ipads since forever, they've taken much harder knocks and nothing! My surface pro has taken more than one fall and doesn't even have a mark. This tablet falls on a carpet, in a cover and is a write off? Really bad experience so must say I'm yet to find my holy grail tablet.

primarily use this tablet for web browsing, but is also perfect for watching YouTube or Twitch streamers. I've also used it a little with Excel and editing spreadsheets was a pinch with the large 9.7" screen.

If there's one gripe I have with this tablet, it's that there are a fair few apps that are not optimised for it, which can make a lot of things appear stretched and that sort of takes away from the experience a little. Bit more app optimisation and she'd be good.

Pefect – Received a tablet for Christmas & i love it. I have all my recipes saved & can access them so easily while cooking. Its light weight, pefect size screen & perfect for on the go. Good tablet – Bought this as my old ipad mini is getting ssoo slow, had it a few weeks now and so far so good, not great as it's still just a little slow hence only 4 stars but overall happy. clarity...the tab S2 was by far superior.

Only problem i have found is that when running it for awhile the battery gets very hot.... I called customer tech support & they say that is normal for such a thin tablet.

Don't waste money – My s2 tab had charging problem in first month. Had to replace battery. After replacement new battery only last 2 hours. If tab left on standby, battery looses all its charge in 6 hours. Samsung refuses to take it back. Wasted 400 dollars. Should have bought iPad for 800 dollars.  Show details

Can't live without this – Since I travel a lot, I opted for a lite tablet that would fit my hand carry without fuss and something light. Tab S2 with its great reviews didnt falter me. It turns on within seconds and I can be online ASAP. Capable of allowing more gigs on its external hard drive, this means I can save apps, pics, reading material and movies no worries. A key reason for my choice was it had an SD port to expand its capacity - I have just added an SD card so I don't have to change/update my device, nor do I have to delete or move images and videos to other devices just to free up memory.
