Inferior to the competition despite the cheaper price – The tablet is just worse than its Apple counterparts in many ways (I was an Andriod user for 10+years). Many Android apps just don't work well on the tablet. The screen doesn't have an anti-reflective coating, unlike the higher-end ipad which makes a big difference. It's also smaller than the iPad since it's narrower. Overall, I'm disappointed with the purchase and Android tablets still have a long way to go to truly be a geniune competitor. Show details

Fantastic Performer – I have to say , tablets have come a long way in 10 years, and this is the top of the pile. The fastest Android tablet ever , boasting the new chipset found in the S22 Samsung phones, 8gb of ram and 128G of storage, will fill most needs. Ok,Ok, I know if you're looking at raw stats the iPhone tablet will eat this alive, but here is the catch, most… Read more · 1
people won't even notice. The reason being both tablets are very fast, but if you were say, a professional designer, photographer etc. you would see a marked difference in the rendering speed ,with the Iphone tablet coming out way on top. But there is more to this story. The average daily user has a choice of 3 flavours , the 11" the 12.4" and the 14.6" plus a 5G variant thrown in. Now, I don't like the idea of lugging a 14.6" tablet around with a keyboard because what's the point? , you may as well buy a laptop. the S8 does not come with an super amoled screen whereas the other 2 do, but this screen is so fantastic who cares, and for the price difference it matters not. This comes supplied with an S pen which is fast and accurate, my only gripe with this is, that the cavity on the back of the tablet that holds the pen for charging could have been deeper, it's annoying when any little bump dislodges it. The remedy would be to buy a decent cover that can hold the pen or at least take it out of harms reach. I found the screen super-fast and responsive and a double tap with a finger turns it off.
I suggest the on key fingerprint scan is the best thing since sliced bread, and the face recognition is next to useless wanting me to remove my glasses so it can register my face, whats the point.
The speakers are excellent and tuned by AKG and are 4 in total on the left and right of the screen. Videos and online content play back without the hint of a stutter.
Now let's talk about the 5G version. If you already have a Samsung phone you don't need to spend the extra money unless you want a separate phone number because the Samsung phone works flawlessly with this tablet, you can do everything you can do on your phone including calls. One of the reason's I bought this tablet was that mere factor because my eyes aren't what they used to be and I got sick of squinting and pinching the screen on the phone in order to read text.
Samsung also has a DEX mode which to put it short turns the tablet into a Windows type experience, I used it once then reverted back to the Android screen .
The cameras on this are very good, not as good as my Samsung phone but not far behind . With wide and normal available and at 12 MP its very good. Don't be scared off by the low MP count because I can assure you pixels have to be smaller to fit on the sensor and more pixels crammed into the same size sensor will only produce marginally better results and will create more electronic noise in your shots. Video can be shot at UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) @30fps, not that I do much video, but it's there if you want it. All in all, an amazing tablet with 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security updates sweeten the deal.
Anyone looking for a decent tablet albeit a bit pricey can't go wrong with this beast, and the 12.4' to me would be a nice size to own but I balked at the price, so, the 11' does everything I need and exceeded my expectations. Just a note here about Apps. I noticed a few reviewers saying that the phone apps don't work well on this tablet, obviously they have not tried it, and it sounds like sour grapes to me as or maybe they just cut and paste their reviews, I transferred all my apps and settings from my phone over to this tablet in a couple of minutes tested them all, and they all work just fine. Highly recommended.
Very good Android tablet – Upgraded my Tab S3 to this model tablet. That got me the latest specs and the latest version of Android (12) which I think comes with 4 upgrades - I think my tab S3 was running Android 9. Been using it for a few weeks now - have to say that the size (11" - 28cm) is good without being too big (hand / lap size) - the Operating system is fast, clean… Read more · 1
and with the 120hz refresh rate on the screen doesn't suffer any lag (not that I can physically notice or measure anyway) - The TFT screen is very good and responsive, and runs 4K and everything I have thrown at it very well - you tube clips and videos run very well - my disappointment for a tablet at this price point (its not the cheapest out there!) is that it runs a TFT LCD screen and not Amoled - you have to pay considerably more in the premium models to get this - Compared to my old Tab S3, the contrast and overall picture looks "Washed out" - its nowhere near as good but I will live with it because the rest of the tablet and its operation is a big improvement. The sound quality from the 4 speakers is good enough for casual listening though lacks any defined bass.
Have also had to get used to back key and functions being on the bottom of the screen and not the right hand side (like the Tab S3 - this was good on the side of the tablet when using landscape orientation) - it does mean that the bezel / edge masking is minimal though, so not a deal breaker (you get used to it)
Basic specs: Screen type: TFT LCD, 120Hz; Screen Size: 11.0 inches, 350.9 cm2 (~83.6% screen-to-body ratio); Resolution: 1600 x 2560 pixels, 16:10 ratio (~274 ppi density); Protection: Corning Gorilla Glass 5; OS: Android 12, upgradable to Android 12L, One UI 4.1.1; Chipset: Qualcomm SM8450 Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (4 nm); CPU: Octa-core (1x3.00 GHz Cortex-X2 & 3x2.50 GHz Cortex-A710 & 4x1.80 GHz Cortex-A510); GPU: Adreno 730
This is a good tablet, probably one of the better Android tablets, but there are others out there to compare, and I would also consider a tablet running Windows as well.
Camera specs:
MAIN CAMERA: Dual 13 MP, f/2.0, 26mm (wide), 1/3.4", 1.0µm, AF 6 MP, f/2.2, (ultrawide); LED flash, HDR, panorama Video 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30fps
SELFIE CAMERA: Dual 12 MP, f/2.4, 120˚ (ultrawide); HDR Video 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30fps
I have tried various options testing the cameras and video - indoor results in low light not soo good, grainy in low-light , but well lit indoors its good - recorded video in Full HD 30FPS - outdoor the photos and videos are very good for general use - there is no optical zoom, only digital - for a tablet the cameras are adequate, without being outstanding.
PROS: . Android 12 (with 4 upgrades) . Good screen resolution (2560x1600 @ 120hz) . Cameras very good (see camera specs) . S Pen comes with tablet - works very well, very responsive, no lag . Good size (not too large) - still portable . Fast, lag free operating speeds and performance . Great Battery life - can handle 5 hour plane trip on movies etc. easily with power to spare . Sound output not too bad (still lacks any significant bass) . Well built - quality is good . Native memory (128gb) is enough but 256gb is available in higher models . Expanded memory with micro SD card up to 1TB . OEM Case is very good (tad expensive but good all the same)
CONS: . No Amoled screen in the 12bgb WIFI version . Back arrow functions on bottom of screen (not a deal breaker though) . Low -light photos and videos grainy
