Works great as a TV – In terms of being a TV it works great, picture quality is nice, built in speakers aren't bad, has all the normal ports and things, etc. Have never had any issues with it for normal TV viewing, watching downloaded shows, or playing ps4. My only negative feedback is that its not the greatest as a smart TV, it doesn't have a lot of apps and you can't download plugins to make things work like NBA  Show details

Good priced TV to suit certain needs – I use this to stream from my Plex library and/or in conjunction with my consoles (Both playing games, running Netflix/WWE network apps etc.) For these purposes it works fine and about the only negative thing I'd have to say about it is that it sometimes takes about 30~ seconds or so to boot up and load plex properly. As someone who hasn't been… Read more

'hooked up' to traditional TV in over a decade though, I can't comment or recommend this based on traditional TV usage or viewing. Navigating the menus and the few times I have tried to flip channels have been a little sluggish here and there.

At the end of the day this is a good cheap, good image and sound quality tv for specific hobby setups and needs. Maybe not for regular TV viewing however.

Slow, unresponsive, glitchy, anything but a smart TV – It takes a long time to turn on, it is unresponsive at least the first 2-3 minutes, it 'overthinks' to even just change the TV channels, it tends to freeze so you have to turn it off and turn it back on - in my experience the third time's the charm. The screen sometimes just stays black when you turn on this TV, and you have to restart it. I have… Read more

had a problem with compatibility with Google Play - I have to use a separately bought cord which I connect to my computer to be able to view a show.

But I find this TV to be generally frustrating. I would compare this TV to a kid throwing a tantrum whenever asked to do something.

Good TV with a few small glitches – We have been happy with the TV as we have a small living room and don't need a large screen or high volume speakers. The remote and the smart TV aspects are a bit glitchy - it occasionally takes a long time (up to 60s) after turning on for the remote to work again, so you can't change the channel (or the volume) in this time which is frustrating.… Read more

Freezes occasionally in smart TV functions and if turned off for a few minutes and turned back on seems fine.

tricked into buying – the picture quality is great, built in speakers have good sound, there are enough ports for my needs. Useless for Presto . I was told I needed this TV so I could watch Presto so I brought it and then Presto gave nothing but trouble. Got rid of Presto and then went to Netflix and it works like a dream. When my computer was in for repairs I did my email on the tv even brought from ebay. I Love this TV now  Show details

Slow Slow Slow response – I hate the EPG guide in this TV it is not user friendly & so incredibly slow, takes 2-3minutes to load once the TV is turned on & or constantly won't load at all stating unavailable. It also constantly causes errors when taping in the hdd requiring it to be reformatted which wipes all the data recorded, never had this problem previously with… Read more

Sony, recently cracked the screen on this TV moving, sort of happy in a way, I'll never be purchasing another Samsung TV again ever.

So far, So good – I got this TV as a replacement for my Samsung Series 5 40" which recently blew up during a storm. So far this TV has been great, everything 'just works' out of the box which is something we take for granted these days! Picture quality is great though i'm not a big fan of the Eco or Sports feature. I don't really use TV speakers as i have a hi-fi… Read more

system but as expected the TV sound is quite thin compared to a decent stereo. It reads all my equipment without an issue, plug and play hard drives and hdmi work great. Over all, as mentioned in other reviews, the TV is a bit slow and laggy when changing sources or channels but i don't expect it to be top of the range for under $1000.

Not impressed with firmware and general speed – The TV is somewhat laggy in interface. Image is good, but "smart" features are lagging behind times. After latest firmware update (automatic) half the content on "stan" has major lipsync issues. I don't have time to go thru 10 customer support people to fix an issue I had nothing to do with. Test 10 times and upload once is what we say when we do… Read more

firmwares. Not Samsung, obviously.

The remote on this device is one of the worse designs I have used. I can never find the right buttons in the dark on it.

Also, what is the point in having hotline open 24/7 if it tells you to call again later? Same with website live chat... I see a pattern here.

I will stick to Samsung SSDs from now on.

Good quality and features – I bought the 40" model during JBHIFI's sale last month for $698 and it is great value for all the nice features. It has a lot of apps and also a web browser. Download the firmware upgrade from Samsung's website and run the update. You can also connect a wireless keyboard to enhance your web browsing experience. I just don't like the fact that the… Read more

YoutTube app doesn't allow me to type in my search query using the wireless keyboard, and end up using the remote control to enter letter one by one. aside from that, the smart tv is excellent. I would still recommend it.

Ok, but not worth the money – I spent quite a while whittling down the brands and models of t.v.s in the shops by comparing them side by side with different programs showing and thought this had overall better picture quality than the other brands including the LG 43" UHD, and Sony 40" etc. on HD content the pics look sharp and the blacks are very black but there is still a… Read more

lack of contrast and human faces still look un-detailed and off colour - (a function of LCDs) and SD content still looks really horrible (not even close to my Sony HD CRT). I don't think 4k is really worth it at this screen size and time.

Plugging in a USB the pics load quite fast but when using a Toshiba 1TB external with pics, vids, and music on it the T.V. just seemed to hang.

I tried the Smart view to share content from my PC to T.V. but after a lot of fiddling around I got 1 picture up and it just seemed to hang after that, (and I think there is a 1000 image limit? you have to load the app and select the folders you want to share)

Its much easier to just copy stuff on a USB drive and use that.

I tried connecting to the net and which it did fairly easily but without watching any Youtube etc. it seemed to have chewed through 1GB+ of my data without me actually doing anything. (probably an unknown update?)

you can use a mouse to navigate on screen menus and content but my wireless mouse is laggy - a wired one works smoother but kind of defeats the purpose somewhat.

Build quality is quite cheap and plastic certainly not what that they used to be.

Has plenty of inputs which is good.

I got mine for a good price ($795) so I'm fairly happy with it, (I don't think its worth its RRP)

I didn't really want the Smart crap but if you go down a model the screen tech is also worse.

Perfect addition to the entertainment room – Have not had a single problem - hard drive connects easily for stored media playback, screen is functional and crisp, remote is handy with the pointer option. The inbuilt apps are handy for things like Youtube, Ted etc. Screen Mirror option is amazing and so easy, and my PS4 looks brilliant with this size tv. I cannot complain!
