SHP-DP609 the "Fingerprint Scanner" no long works at all after 12 months of use. Cleaned unit and fingerprint scanner with damp rag, replaced batteries with new, erased all fingerprints from memory. Tried to rescan new one and stuck on screen that does it. Now won't scan one fingerprint. We have never abused this unit, always lightly scanned finger to enter house. Purchased at Bunnings for around $900. Lucky still under warranty period but unhappy I need to remove and install another door lock in this short amount of time is annoying.
Made up there own purchase date so they did not have to honour the warranty period. Quoted me roughly $350 call out fee for technician, plus the fingerprint part which should still be working but obviously is not despite little usage and only owning for a year and 6 months (warranty period 2 years). Samsung's customer service is officially the worst i have experienced and steering me away from their products more and more. Moreover, it seems they are not putting much thought or effort into designing quality products anymore. I don't have time to spend on all this warranty nonsense, I will just buy a different brand.
