Samsung UBD-M8500

Samsung UBD-MB500 disc does not meet specifications – And here i am with yet another dud bluray player. I'd previously had a cheaper Samsung player that used to overheat and turn itself off, an LG player that pretty much wouldn't play any bluray, and now this player telling me a new disc does not meet specifications. Is anyone else over this? It's no wonder Netflix etc are the new normal. It's ridiculous.  Show details

Has problems playing some Blue Ray disc – This unit does not play GOT season 8 disc 3. It appeared to only effect some countries but I have the same problem here in Australia. You'll receive an error saying "this disc does not meet specifications". Try an update, still no good, try replace the Blue Ray set with another, still no good. the Samsung has this issue that I can see. Why take the chance? An update is pending apparently...but when?

The worst blu-ray player – I wouldn't waste your time buying this because it is definitely doesn't do 4K like it says and it is extremely slow to startup when you power on so I would recommend buying a different brand. Show details

Rubbish product, useless customer service – Bought 04/2018, used it 5 times, every time we have used it machine would go blank and revert to Multi Media., just gave up. CS don't listen or follow up. Show details

Impressive – I had to purchase this as my old blu ray wasn't 4K. I could not believe how this player improved my ordinary blu rays. There were things it picked up on the movies that my other blu ray did not and the sound reproduced through the 4K blu ray (Justice League) was astounding. movies on blu ray and 4K looked as if it was.

The only feature I didn't like was the size of the remote and it is not backlit, or reflective. It is difficult, in poor lighting, to know which button is which as the remote is tiny. I do like the fact that you can eject the blu ray from the remote.

I have no complaints about the player or its ease of operation. I can't wait to resolve the issues with my TV, so I can watch in 4K.

Highly recommend this 4K blu ray
