My washer makes a knocking noise when spinning .. it’s level but seems as if the drum is hitting the sides of the machine .. any help ideas ??

You may either having nothing to worry about or the spider (bracket that holds the drum when spinning) could be deteriorating. If the latter you want to get it sorted now as when it goes the cost to repair is more than new a machine. I know this from experience as it was broke on mine. The call out charge or inspection fee is a lot less than a whole new washer if it is not broken and you might get it repaired cheaper if found early.

I've just bought one it's been delivered next Wednesday. So when I've had my first week with it I'll let you know, however it's got many features that are better than the others at a better price also, so this was a no brainer for me to purchase this machine. If you go to appliances on line all one word they deliver and also take away the old one then install it too. Can't get much better than that. Regards Christian

I have bought 24 of these washer dryers.. and alot of the people are having issues with the drying.. after a few months of using, they have found that the dryer is taking longer and longer to dry. Similar to how if you don't clean the lint filter in a normal dryer it takes longer to dry etc.. People have cleaned the filter barrel and are still having issues. Any recommendations on how to fix this drying issue?

Hi Kevin, I use my dryer to dry my towels. I have a set program which uses the water saver cycle with 2 rinses then drys the towels on the cupboard (t-shirt on a coat hanger symbol & a a in the shirt) it works well for me. I do sometimes notice that when they dry they are stuck to the out side of the bowl not sure why but I pull them off & use the sanitizer button just to refresh the dry. I do no if you have more than the recommended weigh for the dryer it will not dry cloths ie will take longer. Hope this helps.

1/ Why am I unable to use the" spin cycle" for single items eg bath mats? The bath mat comes out as wet as when it went in! Frustrating.

2/ Sometimes the "quick cycle" get's stuck on 3 mins for so long that I need to open the door manually & of course have wet clothes. Again frustrating.

3/ What would be considered a favourite cycle ie how many washes, rinses & spins? I want to set the cycle to run approx. 23 mins so its economical.

Hi Vickie, I haven't used just the spin cycle I have used the rinse & spin and it work okay. With the quick cycle what was ur spin set to? I did find I did a quick cycle & it was set on 400 which did leave the cloths wet. I use the water saving cycle but have programmed it into " my cycle" with useing cold water, 2 rinse, 800 spin, Eco bubble, intensive wash this cycle is 2hrs 12 mins, with 7.5 kgs. The quickest wash I have found is quick wash cycle it goes for 15 mins, 800 spin cycle but u need to make sure you only have 2kg of washin in this cycle. I found a lot of interesting info in instruction book in cycle chart pg 43, it tells you the amount of washin you can put in for different wash cycles. hope this helps. If not u might have a faulty machine.

Can anyone tell me how much water is used for drying clothes with this machine. I was surprised to find out that many of the combo wash/dry machines actually use water for the drying cycle. The bigger Samsung or LG 8kg/4.5kg machine (I can't remember which), says it uses 100 liters of water to dry a load. The Electrolux uses 30 I think. Only the Bosch says it uses no water to dry.

I don't know the exact amount of water but in the manual it says to make sure the water value is open when drying. Sorry I couldn't be much help. Could you ring Samsung themselves & ask???

I have heard that you can,t use the dryer cycle when drying towels is this correct have just purchased a samsung washer/dryer.

We use ours on towels at least once a week and haven't had any issues with it whatsoever. We do run it through the cleaning function once a month as recommended by Samsung to remove lint from the pipes/ filters, and haven't had an issue whatsoever. The only annoying thing about towels and other clothes is the time it takes to dry them, as towels tend to be a lot bulkier and take longer to dry than other garments/ laundry items. So we tend to run it through for the four hour period which tends to dry them thoroughly. Hope this helps :)

We don't dry towels in it for thie reason. It works by condensing I think rather than blowing hot air, so with something like towels designed to absorb water it takes too long. But I find towels dry pretty fast on the airer anyway. Even with a normal dryer I never bothered with towels. Everyone has complained about how long it takes, but the real plus is you can leave the thing running while you're out all day! Plus you don't need an out take thingee and it takes up half the space!

Are you meant to clean the lint out when you use it? If so where is the lint thing located?

Georgia McCarthy

Hi nicole, After reading some of the reviews a few of our users have mentioned that it does not have lint filter.

Is the drum meant to be a bit stiff when turning it manually? My previous machine was much more free to turn. Also my machine thumps quietly when spinning. Don't think it should do this every time. Maybe if load unbalanced but not every time.

I don't think you're meant to turn it manually... As it's an automatic machine? But yes mine is the same. The only time mine makes noises is the metal on jeans hits the drum but maybe try smaller loads?

I typically use the cotton wash and dryer and it works fine for me?
