Just cannot get hot enough! I've owned Scanpan before for use with both gas and electric and they've been pretty good (had to replace one unit years ago). I switched to LeCrueset when we moved to induction and they've been fantastic - but they don't do a wok. So I went with Scanpan again. For a wok especially, it needs to get really hot. No matter… Read more
what I do, I cannot get the thing hot enough. Whether its base is too thick or small, but nowhere near gets hot enough.
Expensive but the non stick doesn't last long and blame it on carbon built up – Expensive pan but the non stick doesn't last long. When I raise the concern with the warranty team. They claimed it was carbon built up. Send it back for assessment and they would not honour the warranty. Said it was carbon built up. They returned back the faulty pan and came back with 2 deep scratches. Show details

This is our second one, the first was replaced under warranty for the non stick going all funny with food constantly sticking. This one has failed too but for a completely different reason. There is stainless steel disc that is bonded to the bottom of the pan (I assume for induction compatibility) and it has delaminated from the body of the pan.… Read more
This means now that our induction cooktop will only heat a small circular section in the middle of the pan where the metal disc on the bottom is still bonded. Scanpan has rejected our warranty claim on the basis (they say) that we have been cooking on too high a temperature (not correct). This was not a cheap item ($300 plus) so the lack of support is disappointing, it has up until now been a favorite pan to cook with but I definitely won’t be buying another one. If you don’t cook on induction and you can look after the non stick surface it would probably be fine but after my personal experience I couldn’t recommend this pan.

expensive defective product with zero customer service – Never buy any product from the CTX collection. I bought a saucepan, and everything stuck to it, even the first time I used it. You can only use it to boil soup to avoid making food sticking to the bottom. When I contacted customer service with many videos to prove, they only responded that I didn't follow Scanpan's official instructions. It's… Read more
ridiculous that you even need an official guide for a non-stick product. I strictly followed the user guide, but nothing works. Despite that, the customer service behaves like a robot, only insisting that their product is flawless, and the problem lies with the user who spent money on it. They blame users for not knowing how to correctly use it, even though there are so many reviews stating that the CTX products have sticking issues. This issue occurs from the first time people use it, not after several years. Once you buy it, just prepare to throw it in the bin. The ten-year warranty is just a joke, forget about it. I also noticed that some people (with the same issue as mine) mentioned in their reviews that they received replacements, while others didn‘t. I am one of those who was denied a replacement even though I provided numerous videos to prove this product is defective. I strongly suspect that their staff is racist, they judge you by your name and only provide after-sales support to Australian white people. I recommend everybody to use WOLL products, their products really work well and have much better customer service, a bit more expensive than Scanpan though. Additionally, for people who don't know how to defend themselves, you can try lodging a complaint with the ACCC if you cannot get reasonable customer service.

Misleading Advertising – I've had this for almost 18 years the last 10+ in Storage (Was Overseas) It was great until it started peeling.. Terrible peeling. Scanpan advertise Unlimited Warranty on Peeling but when I contacted Warranties, They're saying that the Lifetime really means 10 years.??? The Product was very expensive back then.. Extremely disappointed. Show details · 2

Disappointing Coating Durability – I purchased a Scanpan pan set years ago, attracted by the promise of a 10-year warranty and the reputation for durability. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing. While the pans performed well initially, the non-stick coating has deteriorated significantly over time, despite proper care and maintenance. I'm disappointed in Scanpan's… Read more
failure to deliver on their warranty promise. The coating's durability is a critical aspect of a non-stick pan.
The marks due to aging on the coating remains, contrary to claims, 2 of my saute/grill pans after boiling with baking soda and subsequent elbow rub with scouring pad still remain the same.
Perhaps the 10 year warranty needs to be clearer.
I have scanpan saute/frying pans, pot, wok and roasting pan etc. In short someone who loves his scanpan products but time reveals the flaws.
If the previous coating is so durable and lasting, Scanpan doesn't have to come up with Stratanium and Stratanium+ as improvement so my point is why offer 10y warranty when the coating cannot last that many years.
The initial reviews are all good but time will tell as years are added. I have been using close to 8-9 years.
Hello Kelvin. Thank you for taking the time to review SCANPAN. have you been in touch with our Warranties Team?
Wish I could rate it zero - already poisonous after a few uses – I recently purchased a nearly new ScanPan Pro Wok through a second hand sales website in New Zealand. It was pretty much immaculate when I purchased it, and because ScanPan was in my view a quality trusted brand I paid accordingly. I purchased second hand as I care about the environment, just like ScanPlan claims they do. I have been absolutely… Read more
gutted to find that within two times of using it, only once ever lightly with metal utensils (after checking the website to see if it’s ok), there are significant scratches and the coating is already coming away in tiny pieces into my food.
I know that there are health concerns about consuming tiny pieces of PFAS and that ScanPan's website says if the coating is damaged I should discontinue use.
So the wok is completely useless now and I have to throw it out.
I’m so upset.
I hope all consumers get the message that I failed to get, that ScanPan is no longer a trusted quality brand.

Scanpan non stick does last – I have read a lot of the reviews on this site and most of them I cannot agree with. Scanpan starts off very non stick and lasts for a long time, I would say at least 5 years. But it requires input from you, the user, to ensure this happens. There is carbon build-up, it is unavoidable. If you really want the non stick to last you must clean by… Read more · 1
hand using a nylon scourer every time. There is a perception that non stick pans need to be cleaned with a soft cloth or sponge, but this is not the case with Scanpan. I took my pan in after 6 years and complained about the fact that it was sticking, and I was told to follow a procedure to get the carbon off. I did this and it was great again. Olive oil will produce more carbon than coconut oil. If you cook at high heat you will get more carbon buildup no matter what oil you use. I have abused my pan in this regard and generally heat it up too much before putting virgin olive oil on, and I have still got pretty good life out of it.
The reviews on here seem pretty skewed and unreliable – Seems like most people just haven't used theirs properly? My mum has been using her scanpan for like 15 years lol. Honestly I have to admit it is only nonstick now because it is so encrusted with that black stuff can you get with cast iron. Wanted to give 4 stars as I'm going in tomorrow to buy another 28cm one for my mum, from what I can tell,… Read more · 3
the nonstick layer doesn't seem to be coated but appears to be actually part of the pan material itself?
Scanpan are truely nonstick and great service – Our pans had lost the nonstick after 14 months and I wasn’t happy BUT after actually reading their website instructions I did use a nylon scrubber and got the carbon build up off and I can say they’re as good as new. Steven who I dealt with from service was all over my initial complaint and after sending photos etc he got warranties involved,… Read more · 1
though they’re not required. So I say to all who are complaining, the pans do actually need to have the carbon build up removed to operate effectively which I used a nylon scrubber to sort and wasn’t gentle, anyway great product and even better service. I’ve added a before vid where pan was no longer nonstick and another where after removing carbon build up works sweet as again.

SCANPAN AFTER SALES WARRANTY ISSUES VERY POORLY HANDLED – Stew pot SCANPAN purchased brand new. Costing on the outside wearing off. Inside is fine. SHELDON AND HAMMOND importers of the product will not accept product fault. DO NOT BUY SCANPAN. Why offer warranty? I am taking this matter to fair trading.only way to go. I only use Scanpans. Scanpan Non-Stick stew/ stock pot / customer service review – I am not satisfied with the product or the customer service I have received. I contacted customer service and received a standardised response about how there is… Read more
carbon build up on the pan. I was sent a 16 page user guide where I was directed to clean according to the instructions.
I did try deep cleaning and decarbonising the pan several times before contacting customer service. However, it does not remedy the issue. The food still sticks to the pan after cooking, and remains difficult to clean. I am disappointed with the quality of the product, as it is marketed as being ‘easy to clean’. Requiring the user to follow a lengthy cleaning process is not ‘easy to clean’.
I have had numerous non-stick pans in the past and I have cleaned them all in the same way. I understand that they are made to last about 3 years, however, the non-stick coating on this pan has not even lasted 8 months. I do not recommend purchasing any non-stick product from Scanpan. There is no accountability for defective products and it is difficult to communicate with standardised customer service responses

Everything sticks and hard to clean – We also bought our first scanpan, about 12 months ago - a chefs pan with ceramic titanium coating however it does not perform as a non stick pan when used as one occasionally. Scanpan Haptiq pans - 18 months old and everything sticks – Super disappointed as these are NOT inexpensive pans. I bought a chef's pan and a fry pan, impressed with the 10 year warranty. I was particularly impressed with because they seemed so durable We use them 5-6 times/week and take care of them. When the nonstick… Read more
surface failed a few months ago I contacted Scanpan who asked for photos and assessed my pans as having "carbon buildup", which meant I was ineligible for warranty. Assuming I do have carbon buildup, why is this happening? Why can these pans not be cleaned using the same method as other cookware? I was provided with instructions for restoring the surface, which I've followed many times over the last few months with no improvement. Scanpan say it's user error so no warranty claim is valid, however if a product claims to be nonstick/easy care but needs a special lengthy cleaning process after every clean, is it really fit for purpose? I want to eat my meal while it's hot, not spend time cleaning pans etc

Only Rated for Maximum temperature setting of 4/9 – The non-stick surface is excellent. However the multi-layer base separated and scanpan refused to warranty it saying the pan was only suitable to use at up to setting 4 out of 9 heat. As a "Fry Pan" this is ridiculous given frying inherently involves high heat. 4/9 barely does anything let alone frying. Show details

warranty. Strange: this is what you advertised when I bought them - "non-stick". Customer service operator very defensive despite I was calling for enquiries instead of money back.
I was told I need to thoroughly clean the pans several times a week with bi-carb ( on top of the normal doing the dishes) to remain the non-stick properties. Something I never did and never have done before. Second: I need to warm the pan for 5 minutes at medium setting before use, which is what I never have done before in my life.
Too much hassle for me, instead I have bought an 18dollar fry-pan from Woollies, treated this Woollies frypan the same way as Scan Pan's and the Woollies lasted 4years before it lost is non-stick properties. Big difference though... Scan Pan fry pan was $200 ( discounted price) where Woollies' frypan was $18.
Shame, product looked promising but didn't meet expectation, as such I wouldn't recommend this product.

Useless Pan and infuriating service – Bought the pan for $150 two years ago. Everything stuck to it from the first time we used it. Returned it twice and kept getting the the standard "It's your fault, not ours" response. We did everything they said to do and it was still useless. Pitting of surface and loss of non-stick coating – I equipped my kitchen with scanpan classic saucepans, from 10 litre casserole pots to the little gravy pots more than 12 years ago ( the 10L pot is used once every fortnight while the others once a month, if that). forming on the bottom half of the pan from continual use and a fair bit of high heat cooking. So I recently put a dishwashing tablet in the pan and simmered it in a LOT of water for some hours to see if the deposits would come off. And after a while, yes they did. So it actually brought the surface back almost 100% to new, which was quite impressive. So I can happily report that after 5 years it still was good as new so so far so good. yes, $500 may well be very good value if it lasts for a very, very long time like this, PERFOMRNG AS NEW.
Original review: Had it for one year on gas and it's still "as new", despite weekly use. At first I found it heavy but that makes it more stable when stirring , and the usually thick and slightly rough textured (PFOA free) non stick coating seems to increase the surface area and heat exchange . .. Perfectly non stick. And the surface seems - as they coaom- much tighter than my other no stick pans. I really the wok and just looked up the handle. It's bakelight and oven safe. Survives dishwasher perfectly well after about 100 cycles. Used on gas stove. Best wok I've had in 30 years. Having tried both traditional thin metal ones and most recently wore out a KitchenAid one after 5 years (the coating seemed fairly ordinary on that one).
On Scanpan Australian website the price is listed as RRP: $479.01 discounted to $289.00 ((this is August 2022)) SKU:17248

+ Massive size + Stable and fits perfectly in the wok attachment on Electrolux gas cooktop + Really durable non stick coating + Really even heat

Recommended if you're looking for durable non stick and live to fill a big wok!
In theory I am against disposable pans with a 5 year life span, so for pans other than wok, I am now looking for a cast iron pan for griddle ( where nonstick is just going off at high temps anyway) and for an omelette pan (I am reanimating my cast iron staub for that).

Promises the world, yet delivers very little, apart from an empty wallet – Originally I bought Scanpan "non-stick" cookware because a friend bought some and it looked great, plus the ceramic/titanium coating they claim to use seemed like it would be a safe and long lasting option. pot were replaced under warranty because, allegedly, they had a production problem and that accounted for the peeling. For some reason the big wok didn't have an issue - at that time. But that's one thing good I can say about Scanpan - their Australian distributor up on the North Shore had very good customer service. But anyway, things were ok for a time. However, something which is apparently made in Denmark, is not cheap, and makes many claims about quality, should not bubble and peel like these have, even after years of careful use. I would expect this level of quality from a Chinese manufacturer, not Dutch. And clearly, I am not the only one with this problem. Stay away.

start. Now I am not sure what special methods are required to clean this pot but I am pretty sure it was cleaning thoroughly using a sponge and plenty of detergent from day dot. As it is due to carbon build up, Warranty does not cover this so now I am stuck with a crappy $200 standard pot.
So beware of the so called 10 years warranty which I thought would be a peace of mind. There appears to be plenty of exclusions and I have just heard this from other friends as well and a few of them have said to avoid these so called high end brands as you are just paying for the brand and so called warranty which at the end just burns you.
From now on, I am staying clear from Scanpans. It is NOT worth the money for such poor quality products.
