SECURITY AND RELIEF
I phoned regarding funeral insurance for my husband and myself. The consultant, Kap, was easy to communicate with, he gave me many options in premiums. He knew his subject matter. I was in a very busy outlet, he said he would call me back, asked when it would be convenient, I said 3pm. He rang back right at 3pm. He was totally compliant in relation to the call would be recorded, the insurance act etc. Very impressed with his patience and professionalism. A seamless process to obtain cover, and a choice of fortnightly or monthly premiums.

Questions & Answers
There have been several on air (radio) complaints about funeral insurance.
The most common is that for example "I am 76 years of age and I cannot continue to make payments into my policy for funeral insurance and I have no right to make a claim against any monies I have contributed into that policy regardless of how many years I have paid into it?"
Is this true and correct, or just media beat ups?

My mother passed away nearly 2 months ago and my father is still experiencing difficulties getting the claim processed. Now it’s being delayed because mum’s birth certificate and marriage certificate certified copies were not dated by the JP. What possible difference could a date make? They are certified copies with the JP’s registration number on them! Cannot believe this company is making us jump through hoops this way...especially for a grieving family. My parents hold another policy with a different company.....all they needed was a phone call and contact with the funeral director. Policy claim was paid within days of her funeral. Would never ever recommend this company...no idea when dad will get what is essentially HIS money back!

About Seniors Funeral Insurance
- Australian residents aged 40 to 79 are guaranteed acceptance.
- Seniors Funeral Insurance pays a lump sum of $3,000 - $15,000 when the time comes to make a claim.
- Premiums won’t increase each year based on your age, according to Seniors Insurance. Once a policyholder turns 85, they won’t have to pay any more premiums. Cover for death and terminal illness will continue. Policyholders also get a bonus cover of 25% extra on their payout when they turn 85.
- There is also a Cash Out option upon turning 85, where a policyholder can receive 75% of the benefit amount early.
- Includes Accidental Serious Injury Cover for specified life-changing events caused by an accident up to 75 years old, at no extra cost.
