Seniors Funeral Insurance

I was offered this after taking out Australian Seniors Health Cover. Sensitive subject but I was assisted by a patient person, who was happy to explain everything and let me take my time to make up my mind. The young man that I spoke to was wonderful. He was articulate spoke with confidence answering all my questions. We had a friendly conversation but professional all the same. He explained the insurance details so that I understood and was accommodating to my financial schedule. Good job. I would give this company a minus 3 stars but it won't let me. My parents have paid over 26000 dollars in funeral insurance. I went through 6 weeks of hell dealing with them when my mother passed away as my dad has dementia. I then asked them to help me sort out my father's funeral insurance so when he passed it wouldn't be so hard. All they told… Read more

me at the end of that process was if he passed away after 88 his policy would be cancelled and there would be no refund, ( just what you want to hear whilst dealing with grief). I was under the impression by the representative at that time, that we had achieved that. Now 3 years later my father has passed away and they are refusing to release the funds unless it goes to an estate because their representative " forgot" to send me beneficiary paperwork. Not once was this mentioned to me or sent to me as a product disclosure,. I'm fast losing hope that we will see the funds my parents have given them. It's so bloody wrong trying to deal with grief and then deal with Australian Seniors, I would never recommend this company ever!

My mother was late with payment of her premiums, she tried to do it through her bank directly, but there was no such option. I paid her outstanding premiums with my credit card online (that sum was definitely taken from my bank account by their company). cancelled her policy. When I tried to find out what was happening, would not communicate with me, even though I was already dealing with Australian Seniors in 2023 when her husband passed away. Would not recommend this company to anyone, very rigid and heartless, they just do not care about their customers.

Addit: I have tried to find some answers through their representative prior publishing this review. It was useless, just pretending that they are trying to resolve an issue, but I did not get any answers. The company can keep those $50 that they took from me. Do not use this company, if something goes wrong with your policy, you will never get any answers.

Apparently great to deal with while selling you the funeral package. Not great to deal with when family goes to make a claim ! First email was sent 18 days ago and still going !! Happy to take your money. I'd look elsewhere for insurance. Hopefully the ombudsman will help Show details

I had to update my Visa details and get them to update changed numbers & email address etc as I couldn't get into my policy to do it myself. They gave great service and updated my details without any fuss. They have always been helpful to me. Show details ·  1

I can’t believe how easy it was to talk to the person over the phone and he sounded so confident and he made me feel like I was definitely doing the right thing and I then felt calm. He explained everything and covered everything I needed to know. I recommend that anyone looking into talking to one of the Australian seniors staff to definitely go for it ! received the completed documentation, it took less than 48 hours for the claim to be finalised and paid out in full!
