You should be able to use the ST-901 tracker by itself, without app or web server. The hardware is sold cheaper alone (then not by Sinotrack)

Alternative subscription free GPS trackers are Apples Airdrop and other by Android, which are not ‘hard wired’ to a battery, battery needs replacement at times, and also they depend on a running (with network) (either IOS or Android) phone next by, to transfer their position (don’t have a sim card slot). Because of the Anti-Stalking-Function a thieve can find AirTags/SmartTags that are near.

Four wires, red + black -, orange to switch something (fuel pump) on/off by supplying voltage to a relays, yellow is antenna ST-901L 4G, don’t get a 3G, with 5G they might discontinue 3G, tracker wont work anymore.

Cons Its a little bulky and it emptied my small lifepo motorcycle battery empty within 3 weeks in sleep mode. Doesn’t configure or alert through app, so it eats your costly plan sms if you request a status without event by sms. All setup/ configurations using the app do not work, and there are many options and features. They might work for better paying customers with ebike fleets. You can name your vehicles by web page. The tracker uploads its information to a server in China. How safe this data is, and what it is used for could be a privacy concern (selling location to burglers, controlling your tracker...) Here is a list of SMS commands. Some you need to setup a new tracker, some which request information, some set up alarm notification by sms.

- to set up a new Sim card deactivate voicebox dial #002# by having sim in your phone. (that works for Aldi sim cards)
