Una bella figura but I would have preferred good function! – No turntable means food and drinks take a lot longer to heat. A cup of coffee needs 2+ minwith stops in between to stir. Impossible to make papadams or popcorn in the microwave as it doesn’t give enough heat. Also very temperamental time set function. Every daylight saving change is a nightmare.

Smeg Microwave continues to stop working – We have a Smeg microwave oven which we have had continued problems with since purchasing about a year ago. It continues to stop working and resets without notice. Sometimes you can reset the clock and it will work, other times you have to wait for extended periods before it will work again. This time we have reset over 10 times waited overnight, it worked once in the morning and has stopped again and we have t been able to get it working again. For a top of the line product less than 2 years old you dont expect to have these kind of problems. Really disappointed, my daughter has all Smeg appliances in her house as well and has had continued issues with them
[Address and Phone Number Removed]. Our continued frustration continued over Cup long weekend with a house full of visitors.
When will you reply to this email we really need the appliance fixed or replaced
Hi Ray - We didnt recieve an email at the above address ( service@smeg.com.au ) but maybe you should remove your private details from a public forum where everyone can see them. I believe you are booked in for service next week. Please do not hesitate to contact us via email should you have any more concerns. Kind regards, Smeg Australia.
Nice but maybe not worth the money – We bought this oven to match the main oven we had chosen for our new house and because we have always had a convection microwave selected this model so that the two ovens would look good together. It is more than twice the price of a free standing/portable convection microwave and a lot more complicated to use. It cooks and microwaves ok but as there is no turntable food tends so take a lot longer to heat up when microwaving and be more unevenly heated. Things also tend to splatter more and more quickly than in our previous microwave so we are finding we have to cover everything.
You can enter your own favourite recipes/settings (but we haven't tried that yet) and it has some useful preset recipes (roast potatoes are excellent).
It does the most annoying beeping when it has finished doing its thing, which doesn't stop when you open the door - you have to press the knob.

Not bad – The cooking result is good when I make pizzas for dinner… It is not that bad. And the setting is easy as well, the procedure is as simple as I can imagine. When it is working… I feel no noise and extra heat outside the oven, even though the temperature inside is over 200 celcius degrees.

Unreliable unit, constantly breaking down – We purchased the Smeg product "Built In Microwave Combination Oven". Thank goodness we had the sense to purchase an extended warranty as on two occasions, the control panel stopped working & each time it had to be replaced. Also the control swivel knob on the left stopped responding & we ended up being given a replacement model. We also have a pyrolytic oven, which had the glass shatter internally when on the clean function, due to a minute crack in the glass, rendering it useless until it was replaced.
The final straw was the pyrolytic oven function fried the control panel during operation rendering it utterly useless. It is located too close to the heat unit. But apparently this has been changed.
But DO NOT buy the version where the it still sits above the door opening.
Moral of the story, don't waste your money on Smeg products!
