The first time I was going to use the brand new ‘stainless steel’ pot was to cook pasta- had salted the water and was waiting for it to boil. I got interrupted- so switched stove off ( before it boiled) and left pot with water in it- next morning the pot was unusable- rusty and tarnished- have never seen anything like it ( even with cheap pots)… Read more
will return to place of purchase. My biggest issue is what if I had cooked the food and not noticed the pot until after we had consumed the crap that came out of the pot.
Disapointed – I have bought smith+nobel saucepans as I needed induction for my new stove top. I am mainly disappointed with the lids. The steam build up under that space where the handle is and runs down onto your wrist when you lift the lid. It’s dangerous and nearly got burned 3times. It’s really bad design .
Broken pot – Smallest saucepan in my pot drawer. Purchased separate from my main saucepan set (arcosteel). Your saucepan is relatively new in comparison. Broke within first 18 months of use. Show details
Not happy with saucepans – The screws on the handles and the lid are going rusty and I have not had them for very long at all, very disappointing.
It leaves blotches in and around base of saucepan – After you use saucepans to cook, there is like white blotches left around side and base. Thinking it might be something left from cooking i used a wet clothe to wipe it off but to no avail. Show details
broken – The handle snapped off the pan within a few years, rendering it useless. I have pots in my cupboard that have been used in my family for over 50 years and those handles haven't snapped off. Very shoddy. Cynically I'm thinking this is deliberate built-in obsolescence. Show details
Cheap and nasty – After buying this steamer I find it is strange that they don’t don’t use stainless steel screws when it’s a dishwasher approved, Makes you wonder if it’s a health issue or not, Show details
Burnt fingers – We brought the 5 piece copper base cook ware, I have burnt my hand 3 times picking up the handle off the stove, they get very hot while cooking, and I forget this while I'm serving up dinner, Show details
Smith & Nobel Large Pot – I have used my Smith & Nobel large pot five times to make jam and it also has a split down the side. Very disappointed. Also bought from Harris Scarf last year. Show details
Never again, glad I saw these reviews! – I purchased the saucepan & steamer from Harris Scarf and was happy for a while until I too opened the cupboard to find a split down the side of the steamer!.. I have never seen or heard of this before.. in any cookware! I was amazed to see that it had happened to somebody else! I wish I had of looked at the reviews before purchasing...No more Smith & Noble for me. Show details
Smith & Nobel saucepans – We bought a set of Smith & Nobel saucepans a couple of months ago. I wish I'd read your product reviews before purchasing as it seems a lot of people have had the same problem with the glass lid exploding. What a mess and it gave me a huge fright! Had to obviously throw out what was cooking in the pot but also other things cooking on the stove as… Read more
the glass went everywhere. Harris Scarf have since closed, sounds like the lids weren't under warranty anyway (now I know why), but a warning never to consider buying this brand!
purchased 2 tier s/steel steamer set 2 years ago and now the 3rd bakalite handle has disintergrated – truly these stainless steel pots and 2steamers are dangerous as the bakalite handles become brittle and fall apart in your hands when you are using them. 3 of the 6 handles have disintegrated bloody dangerous with bolling water in them.rate them minus 1star if it was possible!!!!! 2 Show details
Stainless Pots – Stainless steel pots seem to burn everything I have cooked in them even soup clear broth. Extremely disappointed as they were not cheap. Brought from Harris scarf under a year ago and not happy with the product at all. Show details

Know better, choose better.
Buyer beware – Received large stainless stockpot as gift. Used once for soup. Cleaned and put away. Took product out of cupboard this morning, 3 x 10cm vertical splits on sides! Have never seen this on similar product in my life. Could go through warranty process I guess but easier to move on to another brand. Show details
My quest for saucepans that actually do work on induction is over – When I got my new Bosch induction cooktop I had to pension off my much loved old saucepans because they weren't suitable for induction. I purchased several saucepans and frying pans from Target (Curtis Stone) and KMart that were inexpensive, all with the induction symbol on them. They looked good and I thought that would be that, except they… Read more
wouldn't work on all the rings. I thought it had something to do with the cooktop and how I'd set it up or the pots not matching the ring size, but the cheap Ikea spaghetti pot I had worked perfectly well on all the rings. I was puzzled. Finally it dawned on me that not all cookware is equal despite the labelling and perhaps even despite price. Anyway I lashed out and bought some Smith and Nobel Professional Stainless Steel saucepans from Harris Scarfe (on sale of course) and they work like a dream. They have a very flat base, heat up fast and the heat distribution appears even. I can use all the rings on my cooktop with this cookware (at last). Oh, and I like the glass lids and they can go in the oven. The sautepan I have has a nonstick interior while the other saucepans are stainless steel inside. As you can buy them individually you can always try one to see if it suits your cooking style, but I'm happy.
