Hardly anyone showed up and the venues weren’t great for mingling. Hosts mainly just checked us in and walked us to 2 other places. People left pretty early when it was hard to chat with others.

Some parts of your comment caught our attention because they do not quite match what usually happens at our Bar Hop events. We keep track of attendance numbers, and the event you mentioned had a full group with guests staying through all three venues. This makes the statement about "hardly anyone showing up" a little unusual compared to what we and other attendees experienced on the night.
It is also uncommon for our hosts to only check people in. Their role is to guide the group from venue to venue, help with introductions and keep the atmosphere social. That is something we receive consistent feedback about from guests who attend regularly.
Social Mingles has been running singles events for close to ten years. Over that time we have created a variety of event styles to suit different personality types, from introverts who prefer gentler social settings to extroverts who enjoy fast paced environments. The Bar Hop is designed to help people meet naturally in a relaxed group setting.
