Keeps restarting – This tv worked fine until about 2-3 years ago. It started restarting multiple times when on any of the nine network channels and also channel 7. It doesn’t restart on chrome cast or other channels. Seems like it’s a common problem with this make. We have tried everything from restarting, re tuning the channels, we even moved house in this time and… Read more

does the exact same thing at the new house so it must be to do with the TV itself rather than signal. It’s a second tv for us so we haven’t bothered replacing it yet

Very dumb smart TV – I'm using this TV at my friend's granny flat. I kept wondering why the TV couldn't see any wireless networks. I read the manual and it says this "Connecting to a wireless network - The SONIQ Wireless LAN for Broadband Adaptor, which is sold separately, allows the TV to connect to a wireless LAN network." Why on earth would a TV these days need… Read more

the consumer to buy an adaptor to connect it to the Internet?? My friend only bought this TV in 2020 but it is so cheap! Thank goodness I didn't buy this TV. But I will never ever buy a soniq. They are really cheap and nasty!

It's been good – At first I didn't like the picture, but now it's fine. It's a good TV for anyone wanting a bigger screen for an entry level price. Next time I'd shell out more for the HD version. We went to JB recently and saw them side by side and HD was nicer. You forgot what it looks like when you get home though so who cares  Show details

32" LED LCD w/DVD- Nice picture, handy features, NO QUALITY – I bought this T.V. on the 7th of August 2014 from JB Hi-Fi Warrawong for $249 & opted for the 'Extended Care' warranty (which added two years to the factory warranty of one year) for an extra $45. It seemed like a good deal, I wasn't expecting this thing to work miracles but it performed quite well; great picture, OK sound, USB slot, Personal… Read more

Video Recording & it actually looked quite nice too. By November the in-built DVD player stopped reading disks. I connected a spare external one to it instead. By late December of 2014 the picture disappeared from all inputs. It wouldn't even show the SONIQ logo when it starts up during normal operation. Spoke to SONIQ about it, they said they won't do a service call for me (even though they claim they will in the 'Extended Care' program) & to take it back to JB Hi-Fi "to be looked at" (even though, according to JB, that's not how the warranty program works). I strolled in with it under my arm, told them the issue & they gave me a new one on the spot. They did honour their 'Replacement' guarantee, so that was good. Not happy at all with the first one only lasting a matter of months with moderate use, I wonder how this one will go. I doubt I'll be buying another SONIQ.

JUST TO BE CLEAR; I realise this was a budget T.V. & that they aren't made to the highest standards but this one lasted well-below as long as it should have.

Soniq 40" Full HD Smart LED LCD TV – Hi, Just few days back I purchased Soniq 40" Full HD Smart LED LCD TV from JB-hifi. Ordered it online as in store it was not available so paid $299 + $18 for delivery total $317. Took a chance as got mixed reviews on Soniq TV's. Honestly for this price a smart TV this is a no brainer and am really happy with the picture quality of Soniq. I was… Read more

using a 40 inch Samsung before this which cost double the price but hardly any quality difference. This is really value for money TV compared to the samsungs, LG's etc...guys go for it without 2nd thought unless you want to spend. Also if you are afraid then would suggest buy the extra 2 year warranty for $69. The only reason writing here is so people can save some money based on my experience.

Surprisingly good – I'm Really pleased it has good sound and is of good quality. I wasn't so sure when I purchased this tv but i was pleasantly surprised. I've only had it for a short time but it is better than a more expensive one I purchased previously, I would recommend it to a friend.

Cheaper does not mean not fit for, or as of "merchantable quality" – Picture on television , does not reflect digital reception quality , as tested by government standards as far as signal quality, due to installation of government antenna and cabling, supervised installation of antenna and cabling by government observer. The picture you see at the shops are a looped DVD sequence of high quality, not the picture you… Read more

get when you take it home and just want to watch television through your antenna, even though all signal strengths have been tested by government supervised technicians, and all signals come through at the benchmarks.

Do not expect anything better than the old radio you listened to 20 years ago lying in the sun, a pair of five dollar earphones are better than the sound that stumbles out of this television, ps, there is also no headphone jack on the television. So, TV sound being of a tragedy of Shakespearian proportions, your inticed to therefore buy the SONIQ 2.1MB10 sound bar because of the poor sound quality and decibel level the TV can produce , wow tele, woofer and sound bar , all the same brand seamless, optic sound connection, lets rock the house....no.....when demonstrated the sound bar was used via a sale mans mobile phone, as such ...didn't sound very loud.....hmmmmm, YEAH, me stupid, . Strangely enough, hooked it up (optical) and it was as loud as a belch coming from a flatmate from the other side of the house, not only that,if the television sound, which reminded me of screaming into a tin connected by string to a mate holding a tin attached to the other end of the string , fond memories, for kids maybe, as loud as a squeaky hinge, is turned up to "I can hear you now", and the sound bar is on....you just saved thousands of dollars flying to the Grand Canyon to hear such a pathetic, annoying, and irritating echo, as such, SONIQ official response is turn the TV sound off, sorry the sound bar isn't very loud, sorry for the delay between our tele and sound system...and the sound you get, from SONIC= here are comments from top manufacturers Sony,Panasonic, Samsung, all reporting the same problems.....sorry guys....SONIQ.......the provided feedbacks related to similar technical issues that were mostly two years old, cut and pasted from god knows what...and in a cut throat game....you should be seeing that as a problem well and truly solved, SONIC - glad you don't build aircraft, I suspect the more reputable brands have sorted this out, but for a delay in a optical audio line...bollocks.....and don't blame double processors having a cup of tea between each other as something that is not a fixable problem. As for the picture...that is another scripture I do not want to even fathom the depths of, if you want to provide a big screen, work out the dynamic processing power required and the Hz to refresh at a rate that will blow people away, it may be just a simple quad processor .....if you buy enough, ...what two bucks, maybe twenty grand to implement the engineering , and a solid through put of product, from production to the sales floor, and then into the buyers happy face and wallet..rather than little nasty comments from a person such as me.

The Blue ray player is really good......just gets let down by sound lag by the other systems, but, to be fair,it is good for price, energy, and does exactly what it says it can do, that's stuff I like, really liked it when the aircraft I flew did the same, no surprises, surprises make me rather annoyed.

That's my ten cents worth of $1218 dollars wasted. Blue ray ok, Pixelation problems, 3D rendering very bad, sound delays outrageously bad, customer rectification of poor product supplied, ....blood from a stone, do not expect if you by SONIQ as a seamless system that it will work together, eg the TV, sound bar and blue ray....it ain't going to happen, and they palm their problems onto high named brands with issues the other brands solved years ago, and that they simply have yet to catch up with. You can probably tell I am rather annoyed, and for me to say no malice intended would be I a lie, Very grumpy.

Ps had to buy a Samsung home theatre system to make the sound ok

E55S12A – I found this tv to be very easy to navigate and the picture very good. The only problem was the sound, it is very poor. The 2D to 3D was good and the remote control is nice and small but still easy to use. Apart from the bad audio my only other negative was the JB HiFi salesman. Like the other review I was also told that it was 100hz, and when I… Read more

said it was advertised as 50hz he did some head wobble thingy behind the tv and the looked me straight in the eye and said"nope 100hz". No reflection on Soniq more so on JB's. Lastly for the price you get a great picture and some good functions. Picture quality, price, features, Audio, no headphone jack.

Why are they pushing Soniq? – We went to JBHifi to buy a tv. The last two contenders were Hisense versus Soniq. We discussed our choices with the salesman and asked for advice on the two. Salesman told us : " Hisense had a lot of problems" "They saw a lot of them with issues and you had to get them repaired" "They never had issues with Soniq" "The reason for Soniq low price… Read more

was that they were made in Australia instead of China " " this model was 100Hz".

We went home, install the tv, checked the paper work and :

1) this model is made in China not Australia

2) this model is 50Hz not 100Hz

The refresh time is very slow. It only seemed to take a second to clear but it is enough to give you a bit of motion sickness. Some programs are blurry or part blurry. Music/dancing programs are not clear. Sports is very fuzzy, football is just plain blurry. News are ok, until they replay something that will move fast and it is blurry and so on...... I had it on for 2.5 hours continuously to check it out and it died twice on me then picked up again on its own.

Why did the salesman need to push such a product? It is a shame that he had to give us false information to try to flog such product.

We will try to return the Soniq to JB HiFi and probably will go to a different store to buy a Hisense.

A very unhappy experience. Good colour, inexpensive and supposedly energy efficient. Clear picture once picture has settled. Sound is very tini, wrong information given, slow refresh rate, not suitable for sports, dancing videos or any fast moving programs

OK TV – Its a good tv for its price. Resolution is not 1080p but it can take movies or video's in 1080p and interpret it on the screen. I purchased this TV to mount this in my kitchen as I figured I didn't want a high end price one since there is oil and grease moisture in the air for a top end tv and bought this instead. Wi-Fi Dongle isn't really… Read more

worth it as I only use it for YOU TUBE video, the app to go directly to youtube doesn't work as there is no sound and sometimes it will say 'error needs to reload or not allowed' and it freezes. Its better to go the internet page and type in youtube in the browser and get to it there. It does take a while to get there after typing in the browser on the qwerky remote. The remote is either under sensitive or over sensitive when moving the cursor around. Sometimes after watching few clips the screen automatically kicks you off and back to HOME screen again which was strange. Colour default was too rich for my liking and had to select Soft to reduce it down. Good thing is it reads all kinds of files on your hard drive if you want to listen to music or video which is great. PVR isn't a fully developed mature software as it only allows you to record 1 show and watch another show on the same family only (eg record 7 Mate and any other 7 family channels) found out it has only a single tuner card so won't let you click around while recording another on something different. I might remove the Wifi dongle and plug in directly to Ethernet as its speed even though I have N wireless is so slow youtube clips will have to buffer. Its still a great TV if you just want to watch basic TV and video from USB or HDD if you want more from and its smarts (just not a fully developed software) not really a TV to rely on. I noticed you can't really put in CAPITALS or symbols if you want to enter passwords for logging in to accounts on it Youtube / facebook even though the qwerky remote says you can just gives you all lower case letters. inexpensive, energy efficient and great TV for USB play backs if you pre record it somewhere else not a fully developed SMART software, Youtube APP doesn't work (no sound), Qwerky keypad remote (can't type in CAPS or $@# symboles)

Really good tv!!! – Resolution is not 1820x1080p but what blows me away is the multitude of features for this smart TV. Of has run everything I have thrown at it in USB = avi, mkv, divx, flv, mp4! I've heard it won't run AC3 audio in mkv's but still... TV runs android in MIPS processor. I'm waiting to get the with fi connection for it as I will be able to install… Read more ·  2
