Good Sound & speakers only let down by the UI and software – Unboxing this HT system was a joy. The speakers and the build are very very nice. I switched over to this for want of a wireless HT from a Samsung 5.1 wired. You definitely can spot the crisp and clear sound this Sony system produces. I do see the DVD quality being just OK (i presume its one of the upscaling features or the DVD itself), the movies on the USB look amazing.

The let down is with the software, takes ages to startup, the response time is slow, and the UI is not great. Overall, i grabbed a great christmas flash sale on this one, could not complain (I knew this one was discontinued btw).

Would i buy this sony system at full price ($1299)?? Probably not, i might look at other available ones in the market. I would say there are better blu-ray dvd players out there. Overall for an HT system, its a thumbs up.

Frustration tab Enabled – While promising much the BDV-N9200 falls well short in the reliability stakes. Functionality is extremely slow with a startup time that rivals a small aircraft. Push the on button whether on the remote or the unit, then go make yourself a cup of coffee while you wait for it to go through its start up routine. It makes now difference if you select fast start in the sub menu. Add to this the unit goes in to a full stop mode and will not accept input either via the remote or the unit panel, forcing a full shut down at the wall to force it to restart. Very poor quality software.
