OK – Overall a great little video camera. Easy to use and understand. The still pictures are only 1 MP and very poor quality - but its primary function isn't for taking still pictures. The video is quite good; however, when compared to the high definition model you can really notice the poorer quality of this video. On the pro side; however, this standard definition video camera takes up less harddrive space and therefore less DVD's that I need to use to burn the footage for backup. I found that it sometimes has trouble auto focusing, especially when you have both close and distant objects in the same frame - this gets rather annoying when filming something important and the picture can go "blurry" for quite some time while the auto focus tries to adjust. Night vision is very handy to have. Battery lasts a fair amount of time (haven't had it run out on me yet) although we did purchase another one in case. I'm not entirely sure how long it takes to fully recharge the battery as I keep the docking station (which is very handy) on my desk and just plug the video camera in for a top up each time we come home - it automatically stops charging once full. Audio is fantastic - had no problems - does quite well in windy situations. 40 GB harddrive is fantastic - 27 hours of footage is plenty for anyone. Very happy with this video camera - reasonable price and would recommend it to anyone wanting a small, easy to use, "low" picture quality (SD) video camera. Small and easy to use. Poor quality of still images.
