Excellent for the price – I have owned this system for 6 years and it's still going strong. I use it in my purpose build cinema room. This system offers excellent sound quality with HDMI switching. The only thing preventing me giving this 5 stars is the HDMI switching isn't compatible with some devices like my projector etc and no Bluetooth connectivity. The new version likely will be better at HDMI switching and does have Bluetooth. It goes loud, its clear and it looks good. I purchased this for $925 back in 2011 on special from $1198

fantastic! – This system is incredible value for money. Not only that but produces excellent sound quality regardless of the price tag. Set it up right and there's so much bass the neighbours will complain. The surround sound is great and very easy to set up. Love this system and 5 years on still no plans to replace.

Sony muteki 7.2 sound system – Where has this sound been all my life ,what an awesome system at a great price, the louder it is the better it sounds, movies just come out at you, music cd's come alive using all speakers Which can be adjusted through the remote,Tip- for really deeper base is to put at least one subwoofer to the left of your sitting blocking the speaker . approximately 6 inches away from ,the difference in bass was extremely great.

You could say as I do ,I want to hear but I really WANT TO FEEL IT,The price was great to.I know there are newer models since this release, are they same?

Awesome for the money – DON'T listen to any of the negative comments, they are expecting a $1000 kit to sound like a $10,000 system. Show me where you can get 7 speakers and 2 subs and a processor/amp combo for less than $1000 that sounds this good ??? You can't The Sony kit for the money is VERY well spent. Sure it's not the best, but again for the money you'll be hard pressed to get this big sound out of anything else in the price range.

They DON'T sound flat and lifeless if you take the time to set it up correctly. So many people don't take time to set anything up and then complain about it.

I'd go to the point of saying if you bought this system and not happy and you live in Brisbane I'll come and set it up for FREE. If you then like the sound, buy me a beer :-) Cost, sound and the design is ok too Nothing in this price range. But better out of the box setup would be nice to get it to sound how it should

Hi Steve. I guess I have the older version of this system and I have been using it for couple of years. I couldn't agree with you any more, setting it up correctly is the key. It's the key that I have lost, haha. Over the period of couple of years i have screwed it up completely and now it doesn't some as good. Just groovy base, base and base....Any tips on how i can get it upto scratch again?

Sony htddw7500 – A very interesting system. Floor standing fronts with horns, single driver surround speakers, center speaker with a horn and woofers x2. What all these speakers have in common is that none of them are made to do there job well. The sound is flat and lifeless at best, bass is very undefined and loud, in no way dose it do the set up any justis. The sursound/rear speakers have a mid driver and that's it, they struggle to deliver any bass and highs and are very in your face and tend to just shout at you. This system is just a over priced pile of light weight speakers and amplifiers.

Bottom line, look elsewhere.

Sound, built quality and finish.
