Sony Bravia W700B Series Questions & Answers
VerifiedHOW DO i COPY MOVIE TO HDD USB REC
I just got a used model from a neighbor who rarely used it. I got all the original paperwork but we cannot find power input site or appropriate cable to plug into wall socket. Detailed original papers don't help. Please any help?
input site or cable to unset and plu in wall.
Chase up a manual on the net, but I hope you didn't give money for it! It's quite probably not working and if it is, I wouldn't expect much in the way of a long life from it.
Good Evening, Seems i move a bit and sometimes quickly. i have not fired up my Braivia KDL50W700B in 5 years. when looking for the power supply i found 2 Sony supplies. Both are 19.5 volts and all the rest of the specs are the same EXCEPT #1 input is 100-240v, 1.2amp output is rated at 4.1 amps and #2 input 100-240v and 1.4 amps, output is 6.2.amps....which do i use?
thanks
Anyone had this problem. Sony Bravia KDL50W700B purchased about 6 years ago...Yesterday while watching the screen suddenly turned yellow and I lost sound. Nothing I do can seems to fix it!
Thanks swampyro - already contacted Sony and hope to hear from them soon. TV technicians may be able to offer advice, but TV repairmen? - well they seem pretty hard to find these days. Not such a growth industry as it used to be.
Sony technicians couldn't help - and pretty useless in the end because all it required was un-plugging and re-plugging in the power cord - which seemed to act as a TV reset. Only discovered this by accident, Working fine ever since!
How can I repair my picture on my TV I have an KDL-50w700b I have sound but no picture?
Hi i have the same problem did u get the solution?
Hi, this just happened to my 5 year old KDL-50w700b yesterday, did you manage to fix the issue? thanks.
My six year old KDL-50W700B failed yesterday.. one day before its six year birthday. I was mid-way through watching a film and the screen went black. I didn’t even notice at first, I thought it was a night scene for a while. Powering off for an hour didn’t fix, nor did a proper factory reset using the up button on the remote and physical power button. The backlights working but there is no video. It’s the same on TV and HDMI, which I am thinking makes it sound more like the mainboard than the tuner. I have contacted Sony to see what they’ll do. I expected this TV to last longer than slightly under six years.. hoping they will repair this for me.
I have one doing the exact same thing! Hope to find the answer to get it working again!
Recently YouTube apps freezes on the Sony Bravia KDL-50W700B. Can anyone assist in fixing this issue?
I had same issue. I was able to fix it Please ready this article external link
My Sony won't play apps like iview or sbs demand.
The internet is working on all devices in our home, it shows that there is internet on the tv but won't connect.
We have followed all the instructions on the help but can't get it to working.
Could you advise if there is something wrong with the tv or how we can fix it?
Beverly Bowen
Bev, not sure how much help I can be but here goes. My TV (which was finally fixed when Sony sent out a repair guy who replaced some 'motherboard' or other) is generally fine with iview though it does freeze or drop out occasionally which I think is an issue with my Wifi not the TV. All I can suggest is you check the settings and make sure the Wifi has been set up on the TV correctly, or that your cabling - if you are that way inclined - is connected to the right input. You could also try the troubleshooting on the Sony website / online manuals which are usually fairly detailed.
my question now that i have signed up is i lost the remote light at the bottom of my tv,the remote works and am trying to find out how to get the light back. do i have to replace the smart core block or get lucky and just replace the light, any wizards who can help me? thanks
There is a option in the menu/settings to turn the led in the bottom of the set on and off under "preferences"
lard, thank you for your answer if you notice the date it shows how often i go into my email after looking and guessing i did get it turned on. Now not even being in AU. but in the U.S.A. a pose another problem, i have a lenovo y70-70 touch model 80du? and i want to connect it to my sony kdl50w700b, now i don't understand why when i had windows 8.1 it came up when i added a device not so with windows 10. I have tried multiple ways to connect and have accomplished blowing out the internet [ cord cutter] i am just trying to find out if i can do it wi-fi or have to resolve to a HDMI cable. so i know i am doing something stupid i just don't know where i am making my mistake and i will read my mail more often. i will take any and all answers a point in the right direction,a different road,a path. thanks
i have resolved the light issue however another question here where should i post it?
Can I use a universal remote? I lost mine and this tv has been discontinued.
I can at least tell you that I use my Verizon remote for channel change and volume, etc. I do usually end up using the TV's remote if I'm doing much more than that. The universal remotes are nice, but I've never used one that did EVERYTHING the original one did.
Did you check under the couch? :-)
Google "kdl50700b remote. Ther'e all over..... $10 from Amazon....$26 from Walmart.....$20 on eBay...SONY remotes.
What full motion Wall Mount is compatible with the Sony 50w700b? I cannot find any help from Best Buy where I purchased or online. Please Help.
Hey, I am not exactly sure what you mean?????
The TV should of come with a wall mounting bracket in the box( mine did) otherwise go to Sony Australia's main web page, follow the links to ask a question which they should be able to help you with :)
The one the comes in the box is not full-motion, its just a flat fixed wall mount. If you do find a full motion mount, please post it here. I had the same problem, basically gave up. Love the TV, but would love it more if it was on my wall. I bought the TV and a full-motion wall mount from Best Buy, that they claimed was compatible. It wasn't and the manufacturer of the wall mount had no alternatives. This was Dec 2014, and I haven't checked since then, so the situation may have changed.
Thanks for your reply Ed. I got no help from the Manufacturer either. Tried Sanus and ever manufacturer of wall mounts I could find. No luck yet. Please post if you find anything new. I love my my TV but find this really dissapointing as stationary or stand is absolutely no help for me. Best Buy did the same thing to me as far as saying mount would fit and it doesn't. Ultimately it is Sony that's at fault though. Please let them know. Thanks
I stumbled on what I think is an adapter to make this TV VESA compatible but note that I have not yet actually tried it. Put this into Google: Sony Wall Mount VESA Adapter - 448584401 Or click here: external link
If I end up doing the swiveling wall mount with this, I'll post results.
Has anyone wall mounted the tv with the equipment supplied? If so, what has been your experience good or bad?
I wall mounted with the bracket/ stand supplied heres a you tube link that will help you. Take your time, its worth it. external link
I have not personally mounted it, and Catch of the day where I purchased it from organised me a new stand......
The tv it self for the price is awesome, and I have had no probs with it so far........
You can find full instructional Videos on YouTube for mounting this particular TV with supplied stationary mount. Just search using the model # of the TV. I personally have not used the mount that comes with it. I want a fully articulating mount so it can be viewed from various places in the room. Unfortunately, this particular TV seems to be non Vesa Compliant. Vesa is the pattern of holes that line up with the TV for mounting. Almost a month since purchased TV have not found one yet that fits. Sony was absolutely no help at all :( Good Luck with yours, hope you enjoy it :))
