What stands out most is how consistent the performance feels. Games load quickly enough, the visuals still look impressive on a modern TV, and the system rarely gives me any trouble. Whether I was playing story driven adventures, action packed shooters, or casual indie titles, the console delivered smooth gameplay that made it easy to get lost in whatever world I was exploring. The library of games is massive, and having access to so many classics makes the console feel as if it always has something new to offer.

The DualShock 4 controller has been another highlight. It fits comfortably in my hands, the buttons feel responsive, and the touchpad, while not used in every game, adds a fun extra element when it does come into play. The light bar can be a little bright in a dark room, but it never became a serious distraction. Battery life is decent, though I found myself charging it more often than expected during long sessions.

Social features are easy to use. Sharing screenshots and clips takes only a tap, and online play stays stable as long as the internet connection holds up. The fan can get loud during demanding games, but keeping the console clean and well ventilated helps keep the noise under control.

Overall, my experience with the PlayStation 4 has been consistently enjoyable. It is a console that balances simplicity and power with a huge library of great games, and even after years on the market, it still feels reliable and fun to use. [Content Removed] heap – when one of my mums friends gave me a ps4 white version not to long after some [Content Removed] safe mode thing came up and i could not play for a good 2 or 3 months.

PS4 PRO Console....built-in redundancy total rubbish – I purchased a PS4 PRO console at the beginning 2019. The Blu-Ray drive failed 11/02/2022. Blue-Ray with a new one as there are also chips on the mainboard which only recognize the original Blue-Ray drive, so replacing it with a new drive won't work as the console won't detect the disks. I basically have a $460 paperweight now. The only way in can be repaired is to completely replace the mainboard with a Blue-Ray that is a matched pair to the mainboard.

I find it complete rubbish that you can't replace the drive on the PS4 PRO with a new one. I still have my original PlayStation console from 1996. I have had the drive and laser replaced a number of times over the years with no issue. This is nothing more that purposeful built-in redundancy to make the consumer throw the console in the bin and buy a new one. I was actually thinking of buying a PS5 which I won't be doing, I will be looking Microsoft's offerings in the future.

Probably biggest gripe is day 1 patches and often games cannot be played without first downloading them, 860kb/s Internet here, so if it’s a big patch forget playing it first or 2nd day even.

Also deleting games removes patches so if you re add the game, your often unable to play as the saves are corrupted until you download every last patch.

Share button to take pictures is often extremely laggy and could certainly have been designed differently. Like a seperate button for screenshots only.

Oh also the storage size sucks, I have to remove games constantly, to make way for new games

Works well – Works well, brought last year still works the same as when I brought it. Looks nice and slim. Only complaint would be the screen could be easier to locate things.

I am impressed – So I have a PS4 and I love it! Firstly, It Has a Cool animation going into the home screen of your account. I did get a Play Station Network account and now I can play online. Aldi bothered to challange a 12 year boy buying them because the company does not have a restriction base on age, Others words they make it se easy for a child to but it is worth there while to steal.

This company believes it is above the law and refuse to return $1255 they can remove the games he bought by removing them from his account but no they steal the funds that were stolen from me.

Under the law the company has committed theft and fraud for failing to return the funds and they have told was stolen and also can charge for receiving stolen property. Horrible hardware floors! – The hardware is horrible. My control charging port doesn’t charge or connect unless it is held at a certain angle. Ps4 pro is crap – If i could give zero, i would. I got top of the line ps4 pro. My son use it on the weekend for about 6 7 months and start using his pc. The machine is not out of warranty. When contact sony Ps4, they gave no help what so ever. In order for me to get it service i now have to paid $280 to get it fixed. This is more than third of a brand new machine. the early hours of the morning. I called Sony immediately to report it and was on hold for a long period of time before I was put through to an operator. The operator asked me to provide serial numbers of the consoles my account was connected to. I advised I would need a few minutes to get two as they were at my partners place and asked for a direct number to call back on. I was told to go through the call centre again but the operator would be there till 8pm, failing to tell me that lines close at 6pm which was around the time our call ended. Over the evening several mote transactions were syphoned out of my account totalling over $300 . Still could not get through to playstation until 8am so called PayPal who advised the people committing the fraud were using the subscription agreement as an exploit to make these purchases. I suspended transactions with PayPal and they began an investigation into the charges to proceed to refund amounts. I then call playstation again wait 30+ mins to speak to an operator and get cut off. I call again and wait another 30+ mine for another operator to say "it seems like all the refunds are done so everything should be fine" and just change passwords etc. No formal acknowledgement of how much money was taken and the exact amount returned. I was also told that the console in question was in the USA and had now been blocked. Few minutes later i receive notification my account is suspended as it is now in debt!. I call wait another 30+ mins and the operator said she will escalate the issue but unsuspending my account would take days!. I said I was not satisfied with how the situation has been handled as there is no formal acknowledgement of what's going on and I am losing hundreds of dollars. I was then told I can't make a complaint by phone i need to write a formal email. I write the email and get the response. Thanks for your email please note it will take a few days to take action.

So not only am I hundreds of dollars out of pocket, but I no have a suspended account so cannot access anything!

Sony you suck! Discusted in how you have treated this situation. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

I can't even get through to them on chat because you have to specify your username and password which I am doing but their system is conveniently glitching and telling me the details are wrong which is incorrect.

Also, beware, if your child uses swear words in messaging their friends and they get reported, Sony will suspend them but you'll never be able to see the offending comments to assure yourself that the suspension was warranted, or to decide whether to impose any other punishment on your child. These are removed and you'll never see them. Also, while suspended, you won't be able to access your account at all, including to remove your credit card details or to cancel the account. This is totally unacceptable. If they want to suspend a player for inappropriate behaviour that's one thing but it's entirely inappropriate to stop me from managing my account.

So there's absolutely no oversight of what Sony are doing. By signing up to their terms and conditions you give them all the power and there is no accountability for their conduct. Your only option is to dispute credit card transactions and disconnect the console.

Fantastic range of games with great graphics – Play stations keep on getting better and this is the best yet. I’m addicted to fortnight and my kids love it as well. Can’t wait to get more games on it. Just one downer, the PlayStation sometimes has a error message but quickly recovers. Show details

Greatest console – I used to be an XBOX gamer, with my 360. My friends were all getting PS4's, so I went ahead and bought the PS4 Pro. It is a really good console, and the DualShock4 is the best controller hands down.

It seemed only natural to extend this with the PS4 and 4k UHD capability, but no... Sony decided to get greedy and a few months after launch they released a 4k UHD player external from the PS4. So why upgrade to the Pro when there's seemingly no reason for it? Extra capacity HDD? Sony are trying to make amends with this 'oversight' and instead of pushing streaming like they did with the PS4 (thus, in their minds, averting the need for a new medium like 4k UHD disc playing ability), they're going to go 4k UHD in the PS5. Sorry guys, too little, and WAAAYY too late. Never buying another Sony product ever again.

on the PS4 Pro, with absolutely no graphics or resolution snags. The PS4 controller does not feel like the most ergonomic (not at all an issue if used for mostly media-playing and not gaming), but I feel that it is much more user-friendly and intuitive than the Xbox controller. So far I haven't noticed any lags during gameplay, but like any console incurs a higher cost when opting for the greater memory storage option. The setup is straightforward but for all its high-tech capabilities (e.g. 4K), it does not have UHD Blu-ray functions, which I guess Sony does not think necessary with the current direction towards streaming.

Console of the Decade – Upgraded to the PS4 Pro, best decision I’ve made. HDR on a 4K TV looks amazing. 60fps keeps it smooth with Game Play on (eligible TVs). Great console all up.
