Do not buy. Completely useless device. They keep taking money and won't allow me to cancel sim, watch tracking and calls doesn't work. Has caused us a huge amount of stress and money and despite multiple attempts we have made no progress towards resolving the issues I can't even remove my bank details so they keep taking more money. I'm going to ACCC now. Show details

The product does not perform as they advertise it will. The concept is great but the product is not meeting that vision. The software has bugs, between the watch and the app. The worse thing though is the customer service. Hands down one of the worst companies we’ve ever had to deal with. I have been sitting in a chain of over 60plus emails, with… Read more

over 12 different support people from the company, who do not listen to our concerns that we have had to explain over and over again. We simply want a refund for the watch we purchased direct from them, that never worked, and they have, without our consent, posted another watch to us to avoid refunding us. We have today submitted proof of emails and alerted the ACCC to their poor customer service. We have emailed from two different email address, for a manager to call us from Spacetalk to discuss this matter in detail and come up with a resolution but have been informed they don’t have telephone capabilities. They have also today asked for a proof of purchase which we made direct with them.

NEVER PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. There are comparable products with better customer service out at there.

They changed the terms and conditions around the app, which means we can no longer gain half the functions we bought the watch for. I worked out after six months of paying for the app the Apple Watch would have been a better deal. It wouldn’t feel as cheap either.its not right to lock down all its abilities behind a subscription. Show details

Follow-up  · Still absolutely terrible. On top of that the company contacted me to tell me to take the bad review done. No help.

Not fit for purpose, terrible quality – Terrible watch. States that it is water resistant IP67. and it can withstand being submerged for 30 minutes up to 1m. absolute garbage!!! Our watch is only 9 months old. It has stopped working and they tell me it is water damaged which is not covered by warranty (read the small print). It has NEVER been in a shower or swimming pool, however they… Read more

tell me that the water seal can break down from soap (handwashing) and suncream (come on! Germs and Sun anyone?) so now it has been destroyed by moisture without ever being submerged in water, and they don't consider that is their fault! It is intended for use by children and this is just not fit for purpose. I would not be so upset if I hadn't seen just how diligently my son cared for his watch and tried to keep it dry. The website promises that it can withstand being submerged in water for 30 minutes! Absolute garbage!!!! They have offered me a second hand watch for another $180! As if!! More money from me? I am just so angry they get to get away with selling this flawed product. Charlatans If you are considering a watch DO NOT BUY. You might be lucky but I wouldn't risk it due to the hefty price tag. I will be replacing it with an Apple watch.

ANOTHER TERRIBLE SPACETALK CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE! – Well, they're back at it again with their HORRENDOUS customer service! One of my kids Spacetalk Adventurers SIM cards stopped working for no reason. I popped one of my other kids SIM cards in and it was fine, indicating there was an issue with that particular SIM card and not the watch. The physical SIM card is provided and managed by… Read more

Spacetalk... So I went through their online process of requesting a replacement SIM card, but the system said that option was no longer available, so I contacted Spacetalk customer service with a simple explanation and photo of the faulty SIM card.

Annnnd that's where the rigamarole really started.

For 2 days now they've written back with the stupidest requests, such as testing out the watch (which is actually working fine with a different SIM card, which they've been told), to asking for a photo of the SIM card (originally provided)...

Why can't they just send out a replacement SIM card as I'm still being charged for the plan?! It's just so simple.

So - I'd highly recommend staying away from Spacetalk and if you do get one, DO NOT USE THEIR SIM CARDS AS THEIR SERVICE IS JUST SO BAD!

“No connection” and “high temperature warning”, plus weak band connection – Disappointing gift for my son Christmas morning. Using the provided SIM (paid for 365 days) there are connection bars but still it says “no connection”. Hard to navigate the menus with the watch misreading tapped selections. Updating software causes it to have an “high temperature warning”. All in all, a regrettable expensive purchase and a… Read more

disappointed kid on Christmas morning.

UPDATE: have contacted Spacetalk as advised by the representative below. But not sure what good it will do - son had a minor fall today and where the watch connects to the strap has snapped clean off. The website calls this a “tough design for active kids”. My kid had a small stack, typical for a kid and the pressure of landing on his hands snaps the band connection? 5 days after he receives this Christmas present, it’s now unusable.

Not-so-smart watch for kids – Bad touchscreen, unintuitive interface, limited battery life, poorly made, and abysmal warranty/customer service. My 8-year daughter had this watch for less than a year, and while it never worked well to stopped working altogether after 10 months. The watches touchscreen is very finicky and the interface is not intuitive, so it was hard to figure… Read more

out whether the advertised features did not work or were just too difficult to use. After some time, I noticed my daughter stopped wearing the watch because it really only functioned as a clunky and boring/simple black and white digital clock. After some trouble shooting, I decided to return the watch to repair or replace the watch before the warranty expired - the company refused as it said "liquid indicator has been triggered" nullifying the warranty! How that is possible through normal use, indicates poor workmanship. Insult to injury the company offered a refurbished (not new) replacement for 20 dollar less than a NEW watch on Amazon. If you want to track your child, the watch is ok, if you want a watch that will last AND your child will enjoy - DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH.

Dont waste your money – I am extremely dissatisfied and deeply disappointed with the service I received. The Spacetalk watch had all the features our family wanted, and I had friends who used them with few issues. However, we have had fault after fault after fault with our daughter’s device, and the most chaotic customer service I have ever received. … Read more

First the watch would not pair correctly, and would frequently lose service and connection. After much back-and-forth and me actually going to the office in my city in person, we received a replacement watch. This new one would not charge correctly. Again there was much frustrating back-and-forth with customer service and they again made it very difficult to get support. At this point I wrote a review on this site and suddenly a new charger appeared in my letterbox.

This did not resolve the issue unfortunately. The new device still does not charge, not pair, and for some reason keeps changing to the incorrect time (making school mode ineffective).

Again LOTS of back and forth, including instructions to do a complete factory reset- and now we cannot even “discover” the device.

I have at last been directed to send the watch to a repair centre interstate but again the customer service member wants to “close the case”!! The case is not closed, the issue is not resolved and I do not wish to explain all the issues to another new person for the fourth time.

Would not recommend. It would actually be easier just to give my 10yo a phone.

Follow-up  · My daughter was left in an unsafe situation- the reason we got the watch was for safety. The AI bot was probably the most annoying part, along with then repeatedly trying to “close the job” despite it not being resolved, and having to deal with a NEW person each time we contacted the company. One person providing all of our options and… Read more

Love it! – Took a little bit to set up the first Spacetalk adventurer but once I figured that out the next setup was easy (we have 2 watches). This watch has been amazing. the GPS function really easy and the kids love checking their step count each day. The school mode function is great too as the kids are allowed the watch at school.

One of our kids is really active and the watch stood up to the challenge. Finally broke a screen after 2 years so have replaced with the new adventurer model as we wouldn’t be without the watch. New models are locked to the spacetalk network, so make sure you check out the plans on the website…. But it does use the Telstra network so should have pretty good coverage in most areas.

This watch is great – my child has been desperate to walk home from school and this watch was perfect to let that happen while not having to get a phone earlier then we wanted. It's well priced, easy to set up and easy to use.

Great quality kids smartwatch, very reliable GPS – Bought this for my son who is 8. Way too early for a smart phone, but he is having sleepovers with friends etc now. This watch has been a greta way to stay connected to him when he is away from home. It was very easy to setup and easy for him to use. He loves the chat feature the most. Show reply

This has to be the most frustratingly un-intuitive product I have ever purchased. We purchased the Adventurer (original 4G) for our 10 year old son Dec 2024. accuracy and updates were woeful and would just spin and spin and not return a location at all most of the time. I understand the disclaimer in the "limited warranty" states that location accuracy cannot be guaranteed, but it one of the main selling points of the device! You literally advertise that you can track your child with location updates! And now with the release of the new app, the entire thing has basically dropped out and will not reconnect. We cannot pair at all now, cannot receive messages, cannot connect at all. hundreds of dollars for a dead weight ugly chunky watch. The Spacetalk help/support is pretty much non-existent and I have literally sat with what are meant to be "LIVE" chats open for hours waiting for even a single reply from an agent, only to receive nothing. Then the following day I can see there was a shorty flurry late at night of "We are sorry for your problem" "Are you still experiencing your problem?" "Looks like you are no longer there so we are closing your chat case" No follow up, no contact number, terribly hard to reach. And all the support tips online are so incredibly convoluted and difficult and don't actually provide enough detail to solve the problem. They direct you to "Contact our chat support" and we do the above circle dance again. Will be raising a case with the Australian Consumer right commission as the cost of the watch surely warrants longer than a 6 month warranty, and the lack of functionality would certainly breach consumer legislation for expected performance.

Painful to setup but one time at least. - Monthly subscription isnt cheap

Pros - Great Price - No Social media - Great alternative to an apple watch - Peace of mind for parents that your kid is safe - Can pick own phone provider but $6 a month for app.

box that doesnt work. I'm now turning to the purchase method to try and get a refund for the paperweight. The watch that does work, is OK, it's not great but does an average job of what it's selling. Definitely not worth the risk. If something goes wrong (which judging by the reviews is frequent) you'll struggle to get any customer support. At this point it feels like they're deliberately messing with me, spending messages saying I took too long to reply or messaging at odd hours saying "are you still there?" A HARD, DO NOT RECCOMEND for this company.

Don’t buy – I bought my son a space talk earlier this year. My son says that it is so delicate. it fell from his hand on the ground and not a single pixel works on the screen. It heats up very quickly and if you leave the watch on you wrist for 1 hour it will leave a red mark on your wrist. Slow when working and ultimately died within a year – Its a great concept to enhance kids safety, but a flawed package. Even when working well the "locate me" function generally takes a few mins to update - this is in a suburban area with good mobile network. Even if you set the location updates to be 5 mins (which kills the battery), you don't get regular updates when checking on the app. The… Read more

safety features such as auto rejection/blocked messaging from unknown numbers work well. App is a little clunky but functional once you work it out.

Our package was originally posted without the advertised screen protectors - these things happen, customer service were pretty helpful and sent some out...however in the month or so they took to arrive my daughter accidentally broke the screen. Was only a very minor knock so if it is gorilla glass its not very tough! Spacetalk not interested in any goodwill repair and only offered a paid option at pretty much the price of a new watch. So she has lived with the crack since then.

11 months later watch has died completely. It won't turn on at all and just randomly buzzes. Its still in warranty but customer service are asking the same questions over and over and always take a few days to reply to each mail - feels like they are trying to drag it out past the 12 month mark but we'll see I guess.

Overall its a good idea but a bit fragile for younger kids and clunky enough that they probably won't be wearing it all the time anyway. Older kids wont be interested. My daughter is 11 now and has pretty much lost interest. Given the choice again I'd just get her an apple watch - It has the kids only feature now so still no phone needed, but comes with a much stronger support model and better engineering for around the same price.

Wouldn't waste my money – Have had such a frustrating time with this watch since buying it from JB Hi-Fi in November 2023. screen or what they had done. On enquiring to them they then informed that the screen had been repaired. I reconnected the watch to the App and since then it has never worked properly. It is unable locate watch on the GPS function although everything else seems to work. On contacting support again I was once again given instructions on how to reset all functions which we had already tried, still with no avail. I was then told to once again return the watch to them. This was done and once again I received it back again with information saying watch had been reset and all was working. Once again I reconnected to my Iphone app and once again it was still not working. Again contacted support and told to resend it back for repairs. All this time it is costing me money to send it back everytime and it is still under warranty. On receiving watch back it is still not working and I have tried everything. So frustrating, even though the watch is under warranty and should probably be replaced or new sim card replaced or something!! In between time for at least 8 months my grandson has a watch that I paid over $300 for and it does not do the job it should be doing - keeping him safe when he is not with us. If we can't locate him it is useless and I could have just brought him a watch or spent my money on a more decent product that does the job it advertises it does. Very disappointing product.
