Unreliable Travel Card – On a recent trip to the UK, Greece and Italy I found this card to be quite unreliable with failure to actually work in over half the transactions attempted. I suspect it was the Mastercard side as my other Visa card worked everytime when the Mastercard failed.

Unreliable product; Updated 13/01/2025: Good product but not flawless – Updated review (see original review below dashed line): We found we are able to use the card for the vast majority of transactions while in the US from mid-December 2024 to start of Jan 2025. So it is possible the issue here is with online transactions since physical transactions (tapping the card) worked great. That being said - always take a… Read more

backup payment option. We did have to use our St George credit card (a no fee one) for a couple of transactions. Not sure why, though, but it appeared to be more due to system problems on the business end. Who knows.

98% of the time, though, the card worked for transactions in the US. Even for tapping on the subway in New York.

Updated the review to 4 stars as a result from the original review of 1 star. Still leaving the original review below, though, as it was our experience. -----------------------------------------------

Got it for purchasing things in the US (tickets to shows, domestic flights, etc). Problem? While it may allow the first online transaction of the day it then declines the next transaction.

No idea why it keeps doing this. It doesn't matter which card (we have two cards linked to it) we use the same thing happens. First transaction approved, second transaction declined.

It doesn't event matter about the transaction amount. Incredibly unreliable at the moment and we are speaking with St George so this is unresolved but I cannot recommend this to anyone right now.

Works as advertised and a great way to mange travelling budget – BànkSA subsidiary. Worked as described for my trip to the UK. Ordered online and received about a week later. Activated it online and loaded it with AUD then converted it to GBP. Arrived at Heathrow and made a vending machine purchase successfully. Have been using for 4 weeks for all purchases and also cash out. Only loaded with about a week's worth of value at a time to reduce impact if stolen or lost. So far so good Show details

Glad I trialled it first – Going to HK for Christmas and thought I give this St George Wallet card a go. The card was a thin plastic card, smaller and thinner than normal card. I used this card to book for a local cruise in HK. Loaded with enough HK dollars to pay for the trip. Declined the first time. Thought I might keyed in the wrong number ( the card numbers were so… Read more

small printed on the back of the card) Second time declined again :( Wow glad I trialled this card. Imagine I try to use this card at the checkout in HK with no HK dollars in hand. I then used my CBA credit card. It went through straight away !! I wouldn't bother to try those Worldwide wallet carda or travel carda issued by a bank anymore

This card was perfect for our overseas trip – The account came with 2 cards which was perfect for us. Both used the same pin. We had no trouble using it in Portugal. When we ran low on local currency in Dubai we used the Euro on the card and it did an immediate and inexpensive conversion. It was easily activated and worked the same as our normal debit cards. We would definitely usd the Worldwide wallet again. Show details
