Stanley Rogers Manchester Set

Great set, modern and light and still great condition after 12 months. We use at home and in our cafe. We always dry immediately after cleaning or out of the dishwasher and polish every 6 months with bar keepers friend. Show details
Absolute rubbish – All the knives forks and spoons came covered in machine marks and some had indentations on them. Cheap Chinese crap in a nice box you're better off going to IKEA Show details
Knives rust in dishwasher – The knives are not dishwasher safe. They all show some rust within less than a year of use. This is extremely disappointing for a set which is purportedly very expensive at retail prices. Show details
Nice design but rusting in less than a year – I'm not usually one for writing reviews but having had these for less than a year I returned them to where I bought them today. I'm fastidious (verging on OCD!) about rinsing all the food off them before I put them in the dishwasher but, despite this, a few months ago they started developing rust spots and it's just gotten worse. I took them back… Read more
today and the store manager explained that "it says 'dishwasher safe' but they're not really"!? I understand what he was saying, that they're ok to go in the dishwasher as long as you get them out the second it's finished, dry them and put them away. Personally though, if I wanted to sit around waiting for the dishwasher to finish then I'd probably prefer to spend that time washing up by hand. I was happy to get a full refund but I can't say I'll be rushing out tomorrow to buy another Stanley Rogers set. I imagine most people, like me, leave the dishwasher on over night, hence aren't sitting by eagerly to empty it the second it's done, like a kid on Xmas Eve waiting for Santa to come! If that's what's required then personally I'd argue that they're not 'dishwasher safe' at all. I disagree that "all" cutlery rusts in the dishwasher... my sister has a stainless set that was similar price (maybe Maxwell Williams but I can't be sure) that they leave sitting un-rinsed in the dishwasher all day, before putting it on at night, and they've been going over 5 years now with no sign of any rust whatsoever.
I'm gutted as I absolutely love the design of the cutlery, its weight etc. Pretty disappointed in the quality though so couldn't recommend.
Below average quality – I purchased two sets of the Manchester style after having cheaper looking sets all my life. This set looks great but continually collects water and rust marks every time in the dishwasher. Resorted to handwashing which is a drag but if cutlery left to dry on the sink drainer, the watermarks appear again. Not happy.............considering returning after two years use under the 25 year guarantee Good style Continuous water and "rust" marks
From working in Hospitatlity, I found you do need to wash and polish cutlery before it dries... it… Read more
