SteelSeries Apex Pro
1 review
Constantly failing rgb leds on a top priced Steelseries keyboard Apex pro cost new AUD$389 – After a couple of years my Steelseries Apex pro a high priced Keyboard which still lists at USD$210 on Steelseries website the blue component of the rgb individual switches started to fail. Steelseries know of the problem with there top end spec keyboard but wont stand behind the product when approached for extra warranty support. I must have replaced at least 5 rgb leds for the lack of the blue led lighting up on certain switches. Stripping the keyboard down to remove and replace with new leds is both time consuming and costly, luckily i can source compatible rgb leds & replace them myself. Have just had to order another qty 25 rgb leds for my steel Series keyboard Apex pro, due to the continually failing blue led component.
When i approached steelseries not only did they not stand by there product but would not provide me with any spare parts even when i offered to pay for them. I also asked for tech specs of the rgb leds steel series built in to the apex pro only to be told they dont know? Without there support i have managed to find suitable replacement RGB leds as i will not pay the vast premium that the Apex pro costs to replace. I have other Steelseries product such as a wireless mouse and wireless headset all being there top tier models but will not purchase this companies products in the future.
The Apex pro has great features and that's the main reason it was purchased but to buy their top tier product and have so many Blue rgb led failures which really lets down the presentation side of the keyboard stops me from recommending their product.
