Made a purchase from Carousel store, went to cash register which had a normal looking eftpos machine, girl came up to me took out what looked like mobile phone and started typing then prompted me to tap my card on it, when I asked why not use the normal cash register and eftpos machine she rolled her eyes and looked at me like I am a stupid old… Read more
fart. With so much scamming going on would you tap your card on a device they pulled out of their pocket when they have normal equipment on counter.
Anne at the Strandbag Garden City store is amazing. I was doing research on new suitcases. Anne was extremely helpful, informative and honest. Thanks to Anne’s professionalism I purchased two new suitcases, two handbags , a wallet and card holder. A fabulous and easy shopping experience. Show details
Emmanuel and Audrey too busy talking to each other. Poor customer service. However downstairs, Cassie immediately smiled and asked if she can help. What a difference in staff!!

I purchased a rather expensive suitcase. After one use the stitching pulled out as I was lifting it myself. I took it back to the Sugarland Bundaberg store just four months after purchase and was told it was carrier damage because the port had scuff marks. So technically, the suitcase is only covered if it's not used. What a rip off ... Show details
I went to Strandbags at Victoria Point today, actually it use to be called Zellows I guess it got taken over by Strand. The appearance of the store has certainly improved. They have got great specials…but…in saying that it doesn’t take a lot to make me happy. I wanted a black cross over bag,I walked out with a brown Cabrelli bag with a matching… Read more
Cabrelli purse and I am very happy with both. The bag was marked down from $40 to $19.I love a bargain. The purse was $24.99. They are both marked as vegan…that amuses me greatly…vinyl must have been rebranded. The lady on staff was very pleasant and polite. I am a very happy vegemite tonight.

Great service – The sales lady at fountain gate on Saturday 9th Feb in the afternoon was amazing. I’ve forgotten her name but she was knowledgeable friendly and very helpful.
Weak Luggages – Strandbags luggages are terrible. Their luggages broke before I even travelled. Their luggages look fabulous but are made of weak and non realiable materials. I asked them to fix it, but their warranties are fake. I had to fix it myself

Excellent Service – Great service from Kylie at the EastLand Store Ringwood. Great asset to the STRAND Bags brand. Excellent service when we purchased a up market leather bag for our son. Well done Kylie a credit to your employer..
Change of name means no quality – Brought a Evity ( Colorado) handbag, worst bag I’ve brought zips are so hard and stiff, have used dry soup on zips but no luck, lining is so loose every time I get something out, out comes lining, I won’t buy again, sad that quality has gone

strandbags itself is basically ok but the quality of the evity leather tote - bag was disappointing. after a year or so it faded from black to a browish color of various shades thruout the bag. It looks shabby now. Is it really leather it was purchased as leather. Will go back to getting bags totes from myer in the big brands as I know they last for ages and keep their quality they market for lower end of okness in my opinion
Went into the Innaloo store to look at suitcases 9.10am. Had to ask for help - no one else in the shop and Mentioned there is a special on 3 suitcases for $399.00. Basically the lady said Do you have proof - I said yes and showed her my screen picture. It wasn’t good enough. Had to go onto the web site. I asked if she could look it up for me as… Read more
I was in the phone with my daughter. - buying the suitcases for her. The sale assistant couldn’t get onto the web so rang someone else and chatted for ages before advising the suitcases were on sale. I walked out as I had no customer service- she kept walking away from (4 times I had to ask her to come over and answer my questions ) Felt like I was interrupting her time. No customer service at all !
We bought 4 large Flylite bags for a European holiday from Strandbags. After 2 flights 2 of the 4 handles didnt move anymore and were stuck in the closed position. This is travel to Sweden and Norway, where you wouldnt think the baggage handlers would abnormally bash the luggage. When we came back to Australia, Strandbags was reluctant to… Read more
repair them, even though they were only 2 months old. They said we had subjected them to excessive wear. They did fix them however, but not holding out any hope they will last. This is in contrast to our previous luggage (High Sierra) which survived 12yrs travel to in India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Pacific islands, China etc and many 10s of flights with only eventually giving out, and we replaced them because they only had 2 wheels being old rather than the modern 4 wheels. Dont buy the Strandbags stuff, it just isnt tough enough to withstand even a cushy European holiday.

Went to purchase 2 handbags on 10/5/ 25 as they were having a sale. Buy $100 worth and get 30 % off. The two bags I'd chosen were $49.99 each, bringing the total cost to $99.98. As they round up the price, I'd be paying $100. Because the total cost was $99.98 and not $100 they would not honour the 30% off. I couldn't believe it! So they lost a sale over 2 cents. I put both bags back and walked out. Show details
Staff are worse than useless and disinterested, they tend to be arrogant and act as though you are an inconvenience. Greensborough store in Melbourne in particular, just buy online instead. Show details
Staff members not helpful – Was looking for a certain handbag and I went into the Waverley gardens store on Sunday and the ladies working was not interested in helping at all, just said we don’t have it. Then drove to the Dandenong store and was a completely different service the young girl could not do euough to help, but she didn’t have the colour I was after. So today I… Read more
went to DFO Morrabbin looking and found the young girl there not interested in helping at all. What is wrong with some of these staff members everything seems just to hard for them.
Poor customer service – Bathurst strand bags drive 45 mins only to be greated with sign on window stock take to 11.30 am knocked on door they wouldn't come to door very ordinary service back home you get used to poor customer service
VERY poor customer service – The staff at Epping Plaza need intense training in customer service. When I was in there only one person approached me to see if I need assistance the other members of staff stood together and were talking to each other. I felt uncomfortable in the store, I couldn't decide which purse I wanted, and when I left they actually followed me. Show details
Order never sent, terrible service – I purchased a makeup bag, gym bag & various accessories as a gift 3 weeks in advance, to allow for postage. Strand Booragoon called 3days before my mums birthday & 3 weeks AFTER I had paid & ordered to tell me my order still hadn’t been sent. And, that one single tiny item was sitting at another store, still waiting. They refused to send me the… Read more
items that were in store ready to go & then send the final item when it eventually arrives, as this would cost the store (approx. $2) in postage. They refused a refund, because “our system doesn’t allow it”. They refused for the other store to simply send me the final item, direct, as once again they would suffer a $2 loss to their store.
So I have no gift for my mums birthday, no refund, no idea when these items may actually arrive, and have not received one shred of courtesy or customer service from the mouth breathers that work there.
Do not shop here. There is more than enough evidence on this page to indicate that they sell cheaply made goods, have no customer service, and in my experience no actual desire to supply you with goods you have paid for.

Do not buy American Tourister suitcase – I purchased a 65cm American Tourister by Samsonite for trip to Sth America. Every time the bag came out of the luggage hold it had compressed more and more making it difficult to close. Initially I contacted Samsonite who eventually referred me to the retail store of origin. I was given the run around by staff and the store manager who told me the… Read more
case would have to be repaired. What is to be repaired as this is a design issue. I was offered a replacement, which I refused as all the cases were the same regardless of brand and the issue would happen again. I sought to speak to the Regional Manager and requested a refund. Eventually this occurred. Why should people have to become angry and waive around the Consumer Rights ACCC before companies do the right thing. I will never shop at Strand Bags again.
Strandbags Flylite case a waste of money, K-Mart Anko a much better buy – The Strandbags Flylite Phoenix 55 cm carry-on case I bought turned out to be cheaply made with poor quality wheels which were not covered by the warranty. The wheels didn’t even survive one trip to Europe. Rang the Warranty 1800 number where a recorded message said to email. Sent an email with photos and got a cut-and-paste reply telling me to… Read more
return to the store which I did. Staff at Adelaide Rundle Mall Strandbags store where I'd bought the case were defensive and unhelpful.. Previously, I’d bought a K-Mart Anko 55 cm carry-on, which is similar, for one third the Flylite price as a quick fix for a trip to India. It performed well including after use on some of India’s pot-holed footpaths. It’s still in good shape so that's the 55cm case I’ll continue using.
Great Customer Service at DFO Cairns store Nov24 – We had the unfortunate experience of a Strandbag suitcase failing on the first OS trip , we returned this bag to the store, was advised it would be repaired under warranty, great, unfortunately it took too long and we had to buy another set of luggage , the manager of the DFO store contacted us while we were away on the 2nd trip to advise the… Read more
first suit case would be replaced, on telling the history , she went above and beyond with contact to their HO & secured a refund for the original purchase as we had had to buy other cases for our 2nd trip, this was very much appreciated & fantastic Customer Service, thank you to the New Manager at the DFO cairns & the HO team who made the right decision to support the DFO manager , cannot thank you enough for the seamless fix up, great work CN - Port Douglas
Great service – Anne at the Booragoon store gave me some excellent advice on my recent luggage purchase. She really knows her stuff! Happy with the customer service and the suitcase.
So much for customer service and ten year suitcase warranties! – On second trip with my new Nere 65cm hard shelled 4 wheeled case and on its second flight on that trip, so only on about the eighth flight of owning this bag, a wheel was broken. Thinking I could get this fixed with the Strandbags store I bought it off in Mt. Maunganui, New Zealand I returned to the store. Only to be told my ten year warranty does… Read more
not cover damage done by airlines. Excuse me! Who buys a 65cm trolley case but never flies on a plane! Also told it cannot be fixed full stop even if I paid! So I now have a $300 suitcase (that admittedly I bought on sale) that is less than six months old and it cannot have a wheel replaced! Why did I buy a $300 suitcase with a ten year warranty when it lasted a fraction of the time my old suitcases did- and they were cheaper! Very disappointed in customer service after being a customer of Strandbags for decades!
Poor quality – It's not the store but the product itself. The handbag lining stretches and the zip continuously gets caught. Plus the weaving has come undone. The store replaced the first bag and this bag is the replacement. The zip is so badly caught that I'm having to cut through the leather to access my house & car keys.
First use of new Flylite bag resulted in a tear in the fabric – Bought a Flylite Onyx 72cm wheel bag worth $200 from Strand Bags 20 days ago. First use it went on a large bus for a camp and back and when it got home it had a tear in the fabric. Thought no worries it has a 10 year warranty but when I took it back for an exchange I was treated very rudely by a staff member at the Whitfords WA store who told me… Read more
the warranty doesn't cover the material and what did I expect buying a fabric bag instead of a hard shell case. Talk about the most pathetic weak material they used for this product (like tissue paper) and the absolutely shocking level of service from their retail staff not standing behind the products they sell. This is an expensive bag and should be able to deal with more than one trip on a bus, just imagine how torn up this bag would be if it went on a plane. Recommend never dealing with Strand Bags again.

Very poor quality bag – I bought an AYA Gia Nylon Crossbody Bag on 4/8/2024 at Strandbags in Castle Towers at full price. Two weeks later I found out that the zipper’s paint had peeled off and the weak glue of the fabric caused either sides of the straps to unravel itself. The stitching is also beginning to unravel itself and any parts with no stitching and just glue has… Read more
detached itself from the bag. Today 25/8/24, I came to Castle Hill store to ask if there any warranty for it, but the staff name Esha said it was the wear and tear. However this is unreasonable as it has only been 2 weeks. She refused to admit that the bag was faulty, saying that faulty would be when the entire bag was dishevelled i.e the zipper falling off. The inability for staff to provide assistance or even admit that their product was faulty did not sit right with me as I believe that transparency is the most important thing. I was not happy with the service of Strandbag staff and the quality of the AYA brand.
10 year warranty is a LIE!! Suitcase broken in 1 year, warranty denied – I bought a Flylite large suitcase due to the 10 year warranty being so attractive. Oh how wrong i was!!! My suit case is only a year old and been used on about 3 trips. My most recent trip it completely blew a wheel out in the 1st week of 5. I had to carry around a broken suitcase for 4 weeks and when i took it back in store to get a warranty… Read more
claim, i was told the wheels are not covered by warranty but they would replace the one wheel out of "good faith" (they told me any broken wheels in the future would not be covered).
I asked what on earth does the warranty cover and i was was told "honestly not that much", i truly believe everything will be met with a "its just general wear and tear" response. While they are fixing the wheel this time, i have zero faith taking this suitcase overseas again and having it break on me again. This shouldn't happen a year on from the purchase date. Shop elsewhere, don't waste your money on strand bags non existent warranties.
Poor customer service - no help - no outcome – Went into the store, didn't have the two suitcases I wanted so they transferred them from another store for me. Called again only to be told that the cases would arrive after I have… Read more
left on my trip. Contacted phone support, straight to a robot voicemail. Contacted via message on the website. Told to go into the store to ask for a refund or to pick something else. I was spending over $1000 on luggage. I now have no cases for travelling. I have to put my belongings in rubbish bags to drive to another city to buy new cases straight before my international flight. If I ordered online I would have the cases already. Customer service is appalling and no help at all.
