Strong SRT 7014

You get what you pay for and pay for what you get – Glitchy from day one. Big issues are failure to record entire program, audio/video out of sync and skipping dramatically on playback making some recordings unwatchable, weak remote reception (have to be less than 3 meters away), freezing on timeshift requiring turning off/on at the POWERPOINT to reset, epg failing to list programs requiring hard button reboot, and some smaller issues. It's a cheaper brand but not cheap, and I expected better for the price. Go the extra mile if you can afford it and get a good Japanese brand.

Not that Perfect – I was Given this SRT-7014 as a Present One and a Half Years ago. Every month i have to reset gives different channels then reset again till it becomes the right channels need someone to help fix this problem.

Very poor quality Australian made pvr – Thought I would do the right thing and buy Australian made. Big mistake with this purchase. Remote control does not work. Recorded programs freeze requiring cold boot. Out of date firmware. Etc. Stay way from this product, please.

Long list of faults and unsupportive manufacturer – Here is a list of faults encountered progressively from day one and as reported to the manufacturer, Strong: • Subtitles out of sync (always - from day 1) • Recorded programs incomplete – Truncated at the end (most of the times - from day 1) • Wrong program recorded (Occasionally – from day 1) • Program not recorded (Occasionally – recent development) • After fast forward, picture freeze. Need to stop and play program again (Occasionally – recent development) • Post fast forward, fuzzy picture for few seconds (Frequently – recent development) • Black line(s) appear on screen (various widths). Can appear near top or bottom of screen (Occasionally – from day 1) • In playback, frames are skipped and sound bites are missed (Regularly - recent development) • Playback stops if a program starts recording. Need to wait few minutes before resuming program playback (Frequently – recent development) • Delayed stop of replay after Stop button is pressed (Frequently – recent development) • Press fast forward then play, replay is scrambled between current frames and previous ones. (Frequently – recent development)

After 2 months of toing and froing with Strong tech team, they were unable to resolve key points specially the one relating to the synching of subtitles. I am now taking back to the retailer for refund.

Not the best product I have ever bought.
