Love this throughout winter especially during footy season – I have used the pie maker for 5.5 years and made hundreds of pies. I freeze them in batches and reheat them in my air fryer. Great for using up left overs as well. Show details ·  1

We are hooked, but now need the 4 up size! – Instant success. Started using the very good recipe booklet. Good results give you courage to experiment. The times given seem a bit too long for bought puff pastry, but pies, a darker shade of brown, are still delicious! Wiping with a damp cloth is not always sufficient, as there are some fine angles in the shaping which effectively contains… Read more ·  1

any small overflows. Worth the extra effort.

Two pie bases and two tops can be cut from one sheet of bought pastry if you are careful. But a slice of cheese for the top of the filling makes a delicious variation.

WARNING-- The 2 up size may be enough for one person. But two people will need the 4 up size because the pies are so varied an delicious!

We use this pie maker on a regular basis – The small version of the pie maker is an adequate size for older people and makes two pies from one sheet of pastry unlike the four up larger size pie that only makes one pie from one sheet of store bought pastry. Terrific for leftover casseroles (beef, chicken, veggie etc).  Show details ·  1

This makes the most amazing pies – Wow, this is super easy to use, has deep dishes and cooks the pies perfect every time. It is only limited by your imagination of the type of fillings you can use. Easy to clean and stows sitting upright, I actually have it out on the bench, so I can remember to use it, what with all the other electrical appliances vying for my attention. We used… Read more

it on the cold winter nights and even the snack size, is nearly as big as a normal size pie. I make a sweet one for after the main for dessert.

Works fine – Makes good pies. Like alot of cooking, you need to experiment a bit with techniques and pastry types but all in all it is a simple handy little machine. The non stick surfaces work well and a little bit of oil or spray makes the pastry crispy without over cooking. Be aware it cooks quite quickly so don't leave too long. Try to reduce the moisture (water) content or thicken it, if the filling is very saucy/runny so the pastry is not soggy.  Show details

Great device – Bought it, hoping for a dream device, but fearing it would be merely a so-so thing that would end up unused and unwanted in a cupboard in the kitchen. My fears were unfounded - my hopes were realised! It's easy to use, does exactly what it claims to do (and that's a rare thing these days), and gives me *so* many more options for cooking meals,… Read more ·  1

what to do with leftovers, and for lunches for work. Fast, effective, idiot-proofed & just so damned useful!

Makes snack time a breeze! – This little appliance is a saviour when it comes to keeping hungry kids happy after school. Being a bit of a health nut, I prefer to use whole grain breads with a tiny spray of vegetable oil instead of pastry, and the pies turn out just as good- the high temperature means that the bread becomes crisp, just like pastry. Takes around 2-3… Read more

minutes or so to cook, depending on how you like the crust. The edges come out crimped, tightly pressed and lovely and crunchy. Also the dishes are a little deeper than some other pie makers, which means more room for your favourite fillings.

Couldn't be any easier to operate, so kids enjoy the creativity that comes along with designing and making their own pies with the Sunbeam Pie Magic 2 Up.

Relatively compact, I can store this appliance in the lower drawers for easy access and frequent use.

Overall, this is an incredibly useful item to have in the kitchen that is very affordable. You will definately get your moneys worth out of it! Heats up fast, easy to clean non-stick surface, cheap

Excellent – A very useful gadget, especially if there are only two of you to cook for. It works extremely well with both puff pastry and shortcrust pastry. Heats up very rapidly. My husband bought this for me as a surprize. I wasn't at all sure that I'd use it much, but to please him, I tried it out. It's now become one of the most used gadgets in my kitchen!… Read more

Thanks to ready-rolled frozen pastry (yes, I'm a lazy cook!) we have pies and quiches galore. I hadn't realised that I could make quiches in it until I read the cookbook, but they turn out beautifully. I usually have a mammoth cooking session, preparing lots of fillings, etc, and then freeze the pies or tarts....most seem to freeze and reheat very well. I just wish he'd bought me a 4 cup piemaker. Making only 2 at a time is a bit tedious, even though most pies take only 6 - 8 minutes to cook.

Good – I got this as a birthday gift last year and have had a lot of fun turning leftovers into pies! It is incredibly easy to use and clean and you get your great tasting pies in a few short minutes. You can use either puff or shortcrust pastry, i like to use puff. The pies are also the perfect size. I am aiming to try all the pie recipes that came with… Read more ·  3

the cookbook! Easy to use, easy to clean, comes with a comprehensive recipe book Sometimes it doesn't brown the top pastry evenly. The pastry cutter is double sided - one side for the base and the other for the top, i normally have to wear an oven mitt when i cut out the pastry otherwise my hands will hurt when i put pressure on the cutter.

Excellent – Great product from a great manufacturer. The pies come out beautifully and the variety only depends on how imaginative you are. It comes with a great little cookbook to give you some ideas. IT is great to use leftovers with also. It is very easy to use and even easier to clean up with the non stick coating on it. Would highly recommend this… Read more

product to anyone. It is a great hit in our family. This was one of the best appliances I have bought from Sunbeam. I loved it so much that I had to upgrade to the Sunbeam Pie Magic 4 Up.
