the instructions carefully ensuring a 1/2 cup of filling (or a little more) and ensuring the filling was not too wet. The pastry is crisp on the bottom and the top (see photos) and is a lovely brown even without egg wash. As we can control the mixture we are eating better then what comes from the supermarket.

There are a few missing features like a on/off switch and the lid clasp could be a bit more robust but for the price we are still very happy with our new pie maker.

required to allow the pie tops to rise and cook through. Also using a tamp similar to the size and shape of the pie well made filling and sealing to the top easier. I’ve noticed that some pie makers come with a tamp and one of these would have been beneficial to successfully create a pie.

So unhygienic – Cheap nasty and unhygienic. There is a hidden oil catchment area inside this pie maker that you can't access to clean. I discovered it after I'd… Read more

cleaned the inside of the machine and then left it upright on its side to dry. All the half-congealed oil dripped out onto my bench top and kept dripping. I could see where it was coming from but couldn't get inside. Total greasy mess. Daughter said to take the machine back to Kmart but I was so grossed out that I ended up throwing it in the bin. Don't be fooled by all the 5star reviews on Kmart's website.
