Disappointed – We were told by the seller that the plastic was BPA free, but Sunbeam have confirmed IT IS NOT. The trays are fairly flimsy and not dishwasher safe, and after only 3 weeks they are starting to discolor. The actual operation of the steamer is good. Heats up quickly and cooks well throughout the three levels.

Value packed!!! – I usually impulse buy appliances and then rarely use them but this one stays on my bench and is used almost every day! I use it to make mash and baby food. I though instead of buying one of those expensive baby food machines that you can only fit a few veges in, i already have a blender so i bought this and i can make a months worth at once! So easy to use, easy to clean, I LOVE it! I bought it from the good guys but just noticed they dont sell it anymore which is CRAZY Great price and easy to use. Wish a buzzer would go off when water running low i always forget! And wish the beeps werent so loud as my babies room is next to the kitchen.

Excellent Steamer – I've never had any bad experiences with kitchen appliances. Recently I've been going through reviews after reviews because we're moving to a new house and plan to stock the kitchen with new appliances. 99% of steamer we were going to purchase have got bad reviews so we're going to stick with our current one: Sunbeam VitaSteam! Just follow instructions for the settings. It steams everything very well. The veggies taste wonderful all the time. We've had it for 2 years. Quiet, Reliable, Efficient, does the job! Too bulky. We had to throw 1 tray away.

Good – I use this steamer heaps to cook baby food as I can steam lots of vegetables on each shelf all at once. I have also cooked rice and fish. It is quiet. It has a number of safety features such as the steaming tray base can be removed for cooking large foods and it has a removable juice collection tray. You need to read the manual for some features but the machine is pretty easy to work out if you can't be bothered to read the manual. You can cook a lot of food at once Takes up lots of room in the pantry, but what large appliance doesn't!

Excellent steamer, very easy to use and clean. We have used ours for about 6 years and it's literally been used every day and never missed a beat. Have cooked everything from fish and chicken thru to use veges and baby food. The rice tray cooks rice perfectly tho requires figuring out the exact amount of water and cooking time. Takes a few times to get exactly right but not hard. Same for timing veges but you figure this out in the first week or so and it becomes second nature and you know the times automatically

Only faults would be that the trays don't nest for easy storage and the stay warm feature tends to keep cooking soft veg like broccoli and zucchini turning them mushy if left too long. We tend to set ours so veg are timed to be ready as dishing up so we avoid this. We also have our steamer living on the bench so storage isn't an issue ... gets used every night anyway so packing away is a waste of time.

never owned another brand or style of steamer, but would wholly recommend this one. Will be replacing ours when it dies with one the same.
