Service is good, price is prohibitave
I have made at least 3 claims through Suncorp for accidents involving my bike. Two of these accidents involved people backing into the bike in parking lots, and the third was an accident where the other driver was at fault.
All three claims were addressed with no out of pocket expense to me, but be aware that Suncorp makes it your responsibility to chase up the other party for details like car rego. If the third party doesn't make it easy to get these details, then Suncorp will leave you to pay the excess. It is also not a quick process - ev...en with all the correct details, you are looking at a week or two before the repairers can get the paperwork done. Having said all that, I would have been happy to stick with Suncorp, but they price themselves way out of the market. Comprehensive insurance for a 32 year old male who has held a license for 8 years with a rating 1 (60% discount) with only a single speeding ticket (80 in a 60 roadworks zone) in the last 5 years was $1600. Other insurance companies came in at around $600. The cost really makes Suncorp a bad choice. 24 hour phone service. You speak to a local. Claims were all processed with no out of pocket expense. Waaaayyyyy to expensive.
