DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE DANGEROUS!!!!! I fell asleep after a few drinks in the taxi and they drove me 70kms past my house to an industrial area with nobody around. I begged him to take me back home and he did but not before making me pay $600. It was awful and I am so glad I am alive. They did absolutely nothing when I took this further. DANGEROUS TAXI COMPANY!!!!!
My driver seemed nice and chatty at first. But when my 10km journey (which is normally $40) more than doubled to $100 he said it was due to a surge. Absolute scam of a company. No one answers the phones or emails. Do not use under any circumstances! These guys are the worst.
SCAM taxi service!!! Do NOT USE! Absolute rip off, did not accept cabcharge, charged double the meter fee. Dodgy and unsafe. Avoid at all costs. If I could leave Zero stars I would. These guys are Criminals

DO NOT USE TAXI1. PLEASE REPORT TO THE "POINT TO POINT TRANSPORT COMMISSIONER" TO GET THESE UNETHICAL TAXI OPERATORS BANNED & FINED. I was overcharged! $147 for Sydney airport to Longueville (less than 30 min ride)... Uber was only $65 and when I checked other taxi fare estimators - $60-$75. I came out of Sydney airport terminal, walked towards… Read more
both uber and taxi stand. Saw the uber stand was so crowded and in front of me was the taxi stand so thought to myself how much more expensive could taxi be than uber... oh boy was I so wrong.
Didn't even get a choice of which taxi, got told to wait next to a numbered stand by the airport taxi marshal and this "regular looking" taxi (Taxi1) came up to me. Got into the rear left passenger seat as anyone typically would.
The meter wasn't properly displayed in clear view of me as the passenger (sitting behind, left side) and it wasn't a typical meter you'd expect, it was this iPad looking device which was so tinted and tilted away towards only the driver that I couldn't make out what the fare or charges were.
Scammer. From Sydney airport to the city Pitt street 130.73$.
I never would have thought that being in a first world country such as Australia, you would experienced getting ripped off by a taxi driver. Our ride from Sydney Airport to our home was less than 6kms. We were charged $58.80!! It was a 13min trip during non-peak, weekday evening with zero traffic with no toll. A 'toll' and airport surcharge was… Read more
automatically added on the meter and then the driver manually added on the toll and airport surcharge again as he handed over the eftpos machine.
My elderly parents don't speak English well and my sister was visiting from overseas with little understanding of the fees and charges. It was the perfect opportunity to rip off what he thought were tourists.
Please make sure you lodge a complaint to the NSW Transport so they receive disciplinary action for such poor unethical behaviour.
Taxi pirates – Absolute thieves . The law doesn’t apply to them . Park on the footpath and tried to charge $35 dollars for a $10 fare . Disgraceful in every respect . Refused two passengers in front of me predatory down the Rocks .
Sydney Airport staff directed me to this scam – Why is Sydney Airport colluding with this scam? I waited in queue at airport and was directed to this cab. 20 mins ride from Airport to North Sydney costed 120? No meters.

All seemed to be going well until paying, EFPOS mahine was playing up payment wouldn't go through, I gave him cash and then he showed me a receipt that said cancelled but then it was working again now. I took back my cash and then the payment… Read more
finally went through , I got a receipt. I have just checked my bank account and the payment went through twice, tried to ring the number aznd there is no one to answer the phone. I agree total scam, but how do we know this when we are directed to a cab at the taxi rank?
Follow-up · It has been 1 month now and I'm still waiting to get my money back. I went to P2P the NSW goverment body that deals with Taxi complaints and only then did I get an email from Taxi1 asking for proopf of 2 payments from my bank account. I sent the info and they say that they only have 1 payment, now P2P have contacted Cabcharge and I've heard… Read more
NOTE this logo, BEWARE and AVOID: $52 to ride 6.5 km. The taxi was just the next in the rank at central station. This is an absolute wrought. When I commented on the price, the driver said it was "the middle of the night" (Saturday 10:30pm) and the… Read more
flagfall was $8.88 but I have never paid $45 to travel 6.5km either. The driver had several things blocking the meter so it couldn't be read, even when the credit card machine was presented. When I questioned the charge, the driver showed me the flagfall so either the meter was never on or it had been reset or was it running before we got in and then reset? Unfortunately I was too shocked at the time to think clearly. We chose a train station for drop off so the GPS wasn't used. Challenge taxi drivers if you can't see the meter. Don't give directions-make them use a gps so their movements can be tracked. The media records suggest this has happened a lot for taxi1. Beware and avoid. Here is a taxi complaints line should you think you have a complaint. They told me today that taxi1 is the payment machine not the taxi company so at a minimum watch the meter and ask for GPS to be used. https://www.nswtaxi.org.au/complaints-feedback
Follow-up · The taxi commission is investigating but it looks like the eftpos machine wasn't associated with a taxi. Please insist on seeing the meter and the drivers if and take a photo of these and the number plate if you're concerned

I am a regular overseas traveler always returning at Sydney Airport. I have been scammed on at least four trips. On each occasion the driver ( all of the same nationality ) conversed very pleasantly from the airport to my home and then, unknown to me, either added a substantial "tip" to my credit card payment or sneakily increased the fare by… Read more
manipulating the meter. Complaints to NSW Department of Transport are fobbed off by instructions to complain to the relevant taxi company from which you receive no reply. They also advise to take a photo of the taxi license plate before commencing your trip at the airport. So I have done that on my past two trips. On each occasion I was met with open hostility. NSW Department of Transport need to police the International Airport taxi rank. If I .as a Sydney resident am being scammed regularly what hope do first time visitors to Sydney have? I wonder how many of these crooked drivers are permanent Australian residents.
Total SCAM. AVOID. Took a taxi from Sydney Airport to Chatswood (about 20km). Have taken this exact trip many, many times, always averages somewhere between $60-$80.... but with Taxi1 - $133. Have lodged a complaint with them 3 days ago and received no response. TOTAL SCAM.

Got charged $95 from Sydney Airport to my Hotel near Harbour Bridge. Uber charged me only $25 on my way back. This is a complete rip-off. DO NOT use their service.
Bad service, didn't help me take my luggage out of the boot. The driver opened the boot and just stood there. I just checked the receipt, and it cost $111 from Sydney Airport to Homebush. I travelled regularly, and the most I ever paid was $86. They also don't accept a cab change. This company is a total scam. The driver was very rude
I was picked up from Sydney Domestic Airport for a trip home to Redfern, a journey I make several times a year and know well. The driver was friendly and talkative, but when I asked about the meter, he claimed he was new and unsure how things worked. When we arrived in Redfern, he quoted $58 for the fare. I immediately told him that I do this… Read more
trip regularly and it’s typically around $35. He insisted that new fees had been introduced, which I knew wasn’t true. I stood my ground and said I would only pay the correct fare of $35, which he eventually accepted.
As I exited the vehicle, I took a photo of his number plate. He abruptly stopped, got out of the car, and tried to confront me. I told him I would be reporting the incident and warned him not to escalate things further. Thankfully, he drove off.
I’ve reported this to the company, not just because of what happened to me, but out of concern for others who may not realise they’re being overcharged. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and needs to be addressed.
AVOID AVOID AVOID Taxi1 = What a rip off!!! COST = $88.32 (previous costs around $50 in peak hour) Day/Time - Tuesday evening 20:01:56 when peak hour is over. Had to request a receipt (I’ve noted that when the receipt is not given/offered they are ripping you off). Taxi1 driver kept the meter running after we had stopped. Couldn’t see the meter… Read more
until he moved his tablet. DON’T JUST TAKE THE FIRST CAB. As a consumer you have the right to ask other taxis in the queue for a costing and who they represent. I have learnt from the last few experiences, who I trust. REMEMBER RUN FROM TAXI1, you’ve been warned.
The taxi1 driver indicated being a Sunday the fare is $137 from the airport to Mosman. Taxi1 is a Scam do not use them. I am in the process to take further actions to get Taxi1 shut down
Absolute ripoff. Got cab from Sydney Domestic to Kings Cross charged $77. As it was first in line at the airport taxi queue I had to take it. As a regular airport to KX traveller Uber charges between $32-$35 and you know the cost in advance. There was very little traffic. Last time for taxi use by me.
Terminal 2 Sydney Domestic to Central Station, 6.9km, cost $89.20. I checked Uber price before I got in the cab $38. I was happy to pay $50 but it was a complete rip off. I have reported to their support centre.
Driver very dishonest and ripped us off. Going from Sydney airport 11kms with no traffic cost over $67. The driver doubled up on tolls and didn’t put it through the meter properly and didn’t provide receipt.
I've just reported "taxi1" to the Taxi Hotline (on 1800 500 410), to report that I was charged about double for my fare. My estimate of the fraud is based on many experiences of travelling the same route and checking the expected maximum fare using an online tool and a taxi app: $47 for a fare that usually is around $25. The driver was not in a… Read more
usual taxi pick-up point, but across the road from the taxi rank in an illegal parking spot. I couldn't see the meter because it was covered by a tablet. After the journey, when I asked the rate I was charged for the fare, the driver did not show me the meter or give a proper answer, only mumbling again the total he charged me. In my view, he saw a fatigued and vulnerable passenger and decided that I was, quite rightly, a good mark. I walked away because I was not in a state to challenge the man over $25, but I won't be getting in another taxi1. I'll take my stuff back to work and walk home. The actual trip was so smooth and the traffic so thin, I reckon it was $23 worth of taxi ride and $24 worth of experience. Hope that helps you.

unecessary use of tolls – I stated the way to go from Domestic airport, but taxi driver took m8 even though it was obvious to go via m5. The ride was over $130 when normally it would be half that, zero traffic mid week after 8pm. I have installed uber as this has defined why taxi are not to be trusted, such a shame.
Not happy – I assume Taxi 1 is a legit company but the driver i had from white bay to the domain carpark was an asset to the devil. He charged me over $74 for a $30-$40 maximum trip. No meter was visible and he played around with the eftpos machine when I requested a receipt. He also said Sydney is expensive when I questioned the charge. This person said he… Read more
was from India which baffles me because I have never met a bad Indian until now. He should be ashamed of himself
Apex more like a Crevasse – If I could give 1/2 star I would. Took Taxis Combined to Syd International Airport from Inner Eastern Suburbs. Fare $35.00. Meter in full view to passengers. Very happy. Return journey, shunted to an Apex cab by Airport Staff, he went the wrong way, headed SOUTH. I challenged him after a couple of kilometers demanded he turn around, which he did.… Read more
Got to our address fare close to $70.00!!! I again challenged, he said it was the Airport Cab charges. I used to be casual taxi driver, I understood METER HAS to be on display to the passenger. Nothing SHOWED. Gives the hard working cabbies shows them a very bad light. Stick to a reputable carrier. Will never use them again Aiport Staff need to be taken to task. This is obviously not the first instance, looking at the reviews.
Avoid Taxi1 if you can - something very suss! – I had the misfortunate of taking a Taxi1 cab from Sydney domestic airport on 1 December, to a hotel on Pitt Street. Every other time I have visited Sydney and stayed at the same hotel (which is often) the fare ranges from $55 to $60. This trip cost me $91.20!! The driver went some random way via the M8 which I questioned and he told me it was… Read more
cheaper - clearly he was ripping me off. He also did not give me a receipt when asked, claiming the machine was broken. I wrote to the company and they have not responded so I will be reporting them to the relevant authorities.
FRAUDULANT SCAMMERS – DO NOT USE! REFUSE TO PAY! REPORT THESE SCAMMERS! These guys are FRADULANT! I took a trip with them from Sydney airport to the CBD. Charged me $94! Fare should have been about $25. I have tried calling them endlessly and they never answer. I have emailed them multiple times and they never answer. I have lodged an online form and they never reply.
Ripped off by Taxi1 – Driver took the long way from Sydney airport via toll way to Sydney CBD on 28NOV24. When I questioned the driver about adding kilometres to the trip, he tried to blow it away, saying how bad Google Maps is. Your company and rip off drivers are killing your industry. Be very curious when a driver asks where you flew in from and what you are up to. They are just seeing if they can rip you off. You wonder why Uber is growing significantly!
Sydney airport service – I used the service this morning at Sydney airport to Wolli creek station and the driver was asking to take the bus as he had been there waiting for a good pick up to make money. He kept complaining because I wasn't going very far. I said what do you want me to do and he said I can drop you to your destination for $350 ( I declined). If I'm honest… Read more
I didn't want to be in the car with this man any longer even if the price was lower. I felt very uncomfortable. This it the second time in a few months with this airport service. I kept the payment receipt, as I couldn't see any identification inside the cab and hoped his I/D would be on this and thankfully it is. I really don't like to complain but this made me very uncomfortable and hope the next person don't have to deal with this man.
Overpriced Taxi company – Sydney airport should revise their partnership with Rip Off Taxi Cab companies. Apex Cabs picked me up from the airport to go to Liverpool. The cost was $181 which is too excessive. No meter in cab, which I am sure is illegal. I was here in Sydney month ago using an alternative company for around $130. Do not use Apex Cabs unless you want to waste your money. The Transport Ombudsman and Sydney Airport will hear about this. Show details
