This is a piece of junk. Do not waste your money; do not buy. There are several problems: Even on the highest setting (9), the hotplates do not get hot enough. They are connected to a thermostat that decides when the hotplate is hot enough and switches off the power input until the thermostat thinks more heat input is needed. As I said, this is even on maximum power. Secondly, hotplates turn on sporadically. I place paper towels over hotplates not in use to prevent fat splatter, and I have had a number of them go up in smoke. Furthermore, technical support is non-existent.

Good morning Erhard. Thank you for reaching out regarding your cooktop. The hotplates are working correctly as per your comments. They regulate the heat as a safety function. We highly recommend you do not place paper on the cooktop when in use as you may accidently turn on another plate which will cause the paper towel to catch fire. This is a safety issue.
