There’s a really poor quality TVs. You can’t get a replacement remote and the remotes are really poor quality that they provide with the TV. I bit the bullet and just bought a new one where there is a proper customer service centre that can help when there’s problems Thompson is an Indian based company, no surprises

Check your sound settings, you may need to change it. It sounds like it's too much bass for your sound

A couple of years ago I bought a Thomson 32" TV from Australia Post. It has been a good TV until now. Today the picture brightness suddenly dropped to barely visible and I cannot find a brightness control. Is there any way to get the brightness back?

Hi guys,

How do I connect a sound bar to this TV? I have an aux and hdmi cord. Connected both in both sound bar and TV and nothing works. Is there a setting on the TV to switch to speaker? The handbook tells you nothing its so frustrating

How do I connect a sound bar to my tv , the sound bar has red and white cable , so do I just plug in to red and white in the tv , as I did this and there was no sound going to the sound bar

Unfortunately this TV only has headphone analogue audio output and coaxial digital audio output: your soundbar seems like it only has line level analogue audio inputs (ie red and white cable). You could try a headphone adapter cable which has a 3.5mm plug on one end (like a headphone cable) and a red and white RCA plug on the other, plug it into the 3.5mm headphone output port on the TV (underneath the input block at the back of the TV) and plug the red and white plugs into your soundbar, however headphone outputs aren't usually designed to drive amplifiers and the sound may not be good.

Another option is to purchase a coaxial digital to analogue audio converter, however the cheap ones expect coaxial digital to be PCM stereo and not DD, DTS, AAC or any other digital audio format, so you have to ensure your sources feeding into the TV are PCM stereo only or that the TV will decode the inputs to PCM stereo. The more expensive audio decoders will handle conversion of DD, DTS, etc to analogue stereo.

The third option is an HDMI audio extractor.

More expensive soundbars will often have these decoders, converters and audio extractors built-in, but the ones with red and white inputs only rely on the conversions being done by external equipment, which the consumer often has to buy.

Hi team, Can you please explain the process how to connect Thomson 40 led tv built in DVD player with mobile hotspot or do we really need wifi to get connect ? As I have got already chrome cast.

Thanks you

IanD
IanD

Not quite sure what you are asking. I only have the version without the built-in DVD player, but assuming it is otherwise the same, this is not a smart TV so it doesn't have an internet connection or wifi capability.

Connecting a Chromecast to this TV would add smart TV functionality, but you need another device to provide internet connectivity to the Chromecast such as a wifi modem or mobile hotspot.

My remote for my Thomson :TL24FHD-TP-DVD is failing, how do I get a replacement or an equivalent

IanD

Assuming you have already replaced the batteries with fresh ones, depending on whether you only use basic functions on the TV, a cheap universal remote might work.

Connect yellow cable to CVBS/Y input and red/white to L R inputs at back of TV underneath connection box.

My TV is not working very well with bad image and sound. I purchased the antenna cable but did not work. There is also an antenna on the roof. May I need to use rabbit ears? cheers

Your new TV needs to be connected in the same way your old TV was: either via a cable from Antenna Input on side of TV to a rooftop or indoor antenna; or by using a Set Top Box/Recorder connected to either HDMI, CVBS or Y Pb Pr on the TV depending on what outputs are available. Then the TV needs to be tuned to the stations (if using an antenna).

If a previous TV was working correctly, this one should too; however if the reason you replaced the TV was due to a sudden poor picture quality, then the antenna may be damaged or the broadcaster in your area perhaps made some changes. It's difficult to comment without more information.

If you have a functioning antenna on the roof, then you shouldn't need rabbit ears.
