Not worth a cent anymore- life time updates ?? NO – Still a working unit and not often needed. Replaced the "not replaceable" battery some time ago - working fine. Tried to update today and yesterday (28/29. May 2100)- after hours downloading MY DRIVE and HOME from TOMTOM - registering and scanning and updating the APPS I got the information that it is too old and cannot be updated!! Now uninstall… Read more
all the apps again - they are useless - 5 hours gone!! Why shall I throw it away ??What does mean now LIFETIME ?? No more TOM TOM for me
Hopeless backup and support – Initially thought this was a reasonable unit, then I paid for and loaded updates (expensive), after that the unit was unusable, product support stated the software did not cause the issue - unit worked perfectly up until the upgrade. (I don't believe in coincidences). Would never buy Tom Tom again
Worst navigation package I have ever used – After having used coPilot and destinator on PDAs and smartPhones and Garmin on a dedicated unit. I can safely say that this is the greatest heap of garbage I've ever used. I wouldn't get another Tom Tom if they paid me.
Good – I had a Navig8tor prior to this (decided to buy a cheap GPS) and it was not until I purchased a main brand that I realised what I was missing out on. In comparison this was much faster, better screen, better speaker, better menu system and better navigation. The old saying goes in the world of electronics : "you pay for what you get" Large… Read more
screen, lane direction, downloadable add-ons Touch interface when typing in an address is a bit clumsy and laggy
Terrible – great unit ruined by crap service (teleplan service sydney)still have not fixed problem,in frustration considering a garmin unit. easy to use. screen continually freezes
Excellent – great GPS, I have 2 of them and one is about 3 or 4 years old and still going strong, the computer updates are excellent and allow you to download all sorts of add ons which some are free, it also updates map corrections etc, this unit also gives you your speed which they say is more accurate than your speedo. overall a great product Free map… Read more
updates, bluetooth hands free works very well, very reliable. it struggled a bit whenI first got it with processing the software and would mumble directions and mix up words but after a few software updates via the computer it sorted itself out.
Excellent – This thing is GREAT! Clear speech, inter-changeable voices, traffic monitor add on, reacts and corrects routs within seconds. You can remove streets from the route and such (in case of detour/construction). Links up to a computer or laptop for charging or map corrections and downloads. If you are thinking about purchasing this product, I suggest… Read more
waiting until it drops in price a bit, or go purchase a slightly downgraded version of the TomTom One. Even the older versions hold the same maps, and work at the same speed. Clear speech, map corrections, downloadable voices and maps, fast reactions a BIT pricy
Bad – nothing wrong with the unit except is misleading as far as the hands free goes. A bit pricey at this stage and dosent support a lot of features in australia. good clear messages FM does not work through speakers making the hands free absolutely useless with any background noise
Terrible – I have both 730 GO and 930GO which my friend has the 720. I was impressed in the begining about all the features such as FM transmission. With the latest update from TomTom, they have removed the ability to transmit navigation commands via FM due to Euro laws which doesnt apply to US or the Australia. Was totally robbed in both my units as they… Read more
taken away the feature which is a reason why you would want this unit. Further to this the lastest Advance Lane Guidance is totally not applicable to Perth users, there was no example of such occuring in Perth and would only be shown on other states. If you are a Perth user, I advice you to avoid TomTom high end products such as the GO series, they are a waste of money, and you be better off with a Garmin. I had very poor support and I think if I can take back my reviews on 730 and rewrite I would. No points needed for rewrite. I am totally disappointed at the way TomTom does things. was a innovative product Please read
Terrible – way to pricey for what it does, or should i say does not after application updates.1st i lost fm transmitter.had to have unit replaced.battery only lasted 45 mins.had unit replaced.now lasts 1 1/2 hours.with new map 2008-2009) you loose speech input,a very handy feature.with latest application(sept 2009) you loose straight fm transmission to… Read more

Terrible – Would never buy tom tom again, and do not recommend it to anyone. Have used Garmin products previously with consistent results. When it works it is simple to use and gives clear instructions with plenty of notice. After four months it does whatever it wants to do, making it a hinderance. Touch pad function doesn't work properly and it jumps… Read more
through functions. Bluetooth is inconsistent have to reset. Customer service had too much attitude, if your customer is trying to tell you something, shut up and listen.
Excellent – For peace of mind I am never in the car without the Tom Tom and specifically Homer. I find the system easy to use and has sufficient flexibility to enable you to customise the screen etc. To date I have never been provided incorrect instructions. I have given the Tom Tom a 5 rating as it has behaved perfectly and has significantly reduced my… Read more
stress as I used to get lost incredibly easily. It took me just 1 trip to trust Tom 100%. To date it has never 'done me wrong'. I do pay to get updated maps as the roads in Brisbane are being upgraded continually and the updated maps keeps me on track. One thing I just love with Tom Tom is that you can download different voices. I purchased Homer Simpson voice and driving with Homer just puts a smile on my face. Sometimes I put the GPS on even when I dont need it just to have a laugh with Homer. The costs associated with the upgrade of maps is a bit expensive.
Good – The Tom Tom is a helpful device fir everyday driving especially if you are going to new locations regually. This is an easy to use device where you can store a number of addresses. This way you can consintrate on driving rather than which street to turn down next. Just watch the device doesn't drop off your window half way through the journey.… Read more
You'll never get lost, clear audible voice, easy to use with a number of display options Suckion caps don't stick to all windows, innitionally it suck well but on moving the device to another car and back again, of putting the device away when parking in public, the sucken caps become less successful

Good – We got our go 720 after having a 710 which was replaced under a warranty. Immediately we were amazed with how much smaller it was and the price difference. It is a great system with rural roads included in the mapping. Unfortunately, the system has a tendency when switching on to turn itself off which has occurred since new. We managed to… Read more
semi-solve the problem and still love the system. However, in major cities it directs up one way streets which is annoying when we have to turn around. Overall it is a great system with the benefits outwaying its problems. large screen, great design, hands free calling. directs up one way streets which is annoying. has had a software glitch since new.
Bad – The GPS works well and the voices are clear. If you intend on using your mobile phone, make sure it is compatible. I prefer my old Garmin as it is much easier to use (less features but much simplier) Many options and ways to display. The suction cup to the window is ridculous does not stick and is very dangerous when it fall off while driving. … Read more
Bought another attachment that fixes it to the air vent, however, i dont want to use in case condensation gets in to the machine. My mobile phone is incompatible, which means the blue tooth function is useless for me. (the main reason I bought it). This is a huge disappointment.
Excellent – Good buy, could be a bit cheaper but not to to bad.Cheap off eBay if your lucky.Easy to operate for us oldies, changes direction very fast, down loads very easy on computer,so far so good very happy. No Problem with blue tooth or FM radio.Picks up satellites very quick.Overall full marks. . Great to read, clear voice, great with blue tooth also good… Read more
with hands free.Haven't really tried it out properly through FM radio yet but what little i have done with the FM radio it seems to be very clear. So far no problems all good. My only dislike is the battery length about 2 to 3hrs.No problem falling off windscreen.
Good – A well designed unit for telling you where you need to go. Great features such as the onboard directory, favourites, places of interest etc. Windshield bracket is rubbish. A good GPS for telling you where your going. User interface is very simple, great options, such as bluetooth and onboard directory for your nearest favourites and emergency… Read more
contacts. About 5% of the time you do get the random directions (about 3-4 times I was told to get off a highway and get back on it for no reason). The windscreen suction pad that comes with it is rubbish, this was something that was overlooked for such a well designed unit. You can get a air vent holder, which is abit better for about $20. Also recommend paying extra for getting the upto date maps and red light cameras etc.
OK – You have to have local knowledge as well to protect you from errors. I have seen other reports and agree with them in the main. I have had good reports from TOM TOM. I would like to see betterbut to scared to go to another product in case it is worse. I also had a cheaper TOM TOM and the 720 and it made the same mistakes as the 720. Hummmm I like… Read more
the wide screen better. I have gone from city to a town 3 hours away and got me exactly there with in meters. Brilliant in bad weather when you need to concentrate on the road Suction cups are a bad joke. I ended up screwing the units bracket to the car piller. Screen a little insenitive. Paid $149 for a road report attachment 6 months ago and still waiting for my first report and it says it's connecting. Shortest distance can be a bad joke. From local knowledge I can take 10 minutes off a route. Can take you of main routes and put you back on. I have gone 34ks and take the roundabout and then go back 40ks
OK – Generally ok. Good sound quality and voice clarity. Over priced. Easy to operate which is a good thing for such a complex piece of technology. Fast response particularly when quick turns are involved. Great for navigating to new places and be guided by a reliable product. Points of interest is really useful too. Large 4.3 inch screen makes it… Read more
quite visible. And add to it the anti glare screen. Good for those places one rarely visits or has never been to. Does not always produce the shortest route. Attachment can be a bit suspect. Batter life. Bluetooth connectivity can cause some angst.
Excellent – Have tried a few GPS's but found this unit very easy to use, with a great screen, voice options, and back up services in the way of updates, and downloads available. No problems in 2 years, swapping from car to car and used on motorbike as well. Would recommend to any one! Great all round unit, excellent screen, voices, and very user friendly. Cant get clear, pronounciation of steet names, making it difficult in cty situations.
Excellent – The TomTom takes the stress out of tavelling to new locations as you can easily find where to go. This model has blue tooth which means you can take and send phone calls through it. It displays caller i.d on the screen. The spoken address function is very useful when it works as you can have your hands free for driving. The Tom Tom Go 720 is an… Read more
awesome navigation system that is easy to use. There is very poor customer service from TomTom. Beware of getting map updates because from my experience it can change the configuration of how your TomTom works.
Excellent – This is a really simple machine to operate and to either hide in the car or take with you. The screen is a good size and clear to read and the options for voices are good - not too aggravating! compact and easy to use. Computer disks worked simply and understandable user guide! A bit heavy to use the supplied holder for inside the car - keeps falling off.

Good – overall I like my tomtom GPS. We bought it last year at a discount price. it is so much better than reading an out dated map! The touch screen can work against you though , as someitmes, when you hold it in hand, you accidentally touch it.hence change the settings. It also has the speed limit alarm so it 'beeps' when you over the limit. fast… Read more
direcotry and accurate. very easy to operate. Street name talk. You can also download the latest map from the tomtom website. when you dont use it for a few days, it takes at least 1 minute to get signal (even when you are in north sydney)!
OK – OK product if you use on a daily basis. For someone who uses it occasionally I would have preferred something with a better standby battery life. The first I bought was DOA and thankfully Bing Lee replaced immediately. I have not tried it interstate yet but am planning to do so soon! Easy to use, clear directions, good looks. Accurate directions. short battery life - runs down quickly even if not used
Good – Would love to write a review...............if they ever release it here!! Waiting Waiting Waiting. I am very keen to get my hands on the 720, sounds like it will be the bee's knee's if all the functions are as user friendly as the 910, time will tell. Everything I've read about it. Price seems reasonable. It's been going to be released here in Australia for the last two months or more. Might be out dated before we get to use it.
Excellent – a great GPS, easy to use even for those who haven't used them before, packed full of features, like Bluetooth car kit etc. I would recommend this to anyone looking at a high end GPS unit. Love the Tom Tom GPS units, I had the GO 500 before the GO 720 and both of them have been very good, the GO 720 even has street name navigation where it reads… Read more
out the streets you need to turn in to etc. Another good feature is that you can have custom voices on the GPS such as celebrity voices etc. Nothing, keep up the good work Tom Tom!
OK – The maps seem good, however the routes it gives sometimes can be pretty dam terrible. The latest update didn't appear to get rid of the FM Transmission (for us) so we use that fairly often. The in-built speaker is extremely distorted at times. The Prices for new maps and camera's seem to be way overpriced. All in all, it would be good for… Read more
places you have no idea where you're going, but it won't take you down many back-roads. And it forgets that there are one-way streets. Good maps, fast, FM Transmission, phone features IQ doesn't always give good routes, in-built speaker wasn't very good
Excellent – I love this unit. I have seen other GPS in use and found none to lock onto the satalites as quickly as TomTom. If you take a wrong turn the unit will recalculate extreemly quickly. I borrowed my unit to my elderly, technophobic inlaws and even they found it a dream to use. The new user updateable maps are awesome. Can't wait for TomTom to add… Read more

Excellent – This is a great product. Large screen, fast touch-response. Easy to use menu system. Excellent updating via internet. Accurate maps. I use the MP3 function a lot. In the car, I simply set the Tom Tom speaker to "FM to your car radio" and tune the radio to a non-used station. The MP3 player and GPS instructions come through the car radio… Read more
speakers. So easy and a lot of fun. I can even take over the car radio from the back seat - this has resulted in a lot of fun. Once I had the MP3 player on and we were listening to a Neil Diamond song through the Tom Tom when the GPS function kicked in and an instruction to turn left over-rode the song momentarily. My passenger asked jokingly "how the hell does Neil Diamond know where we are going?" A lot of fun. The MP3 player can be loaded up via a PC onto a SD disk up to 2 GB. Hundreds of songs and no need for CDs anymore. A truly great product to own. Brilliant performance and flexibility. The FM transmitter function is fantastic. Battery life not up to the claims of 5 hours.
Excellent – I have tried most of the others on the market and this one won hands down. The bluetooth hands free is excellent, very clear and easy to use. The MP3 player through the car radio is very handy. This unit is a three in one, Nav, MP3 and handsfree and they all work really well. They have also become alot cheaper $450. Easy map correction so if you… Read more
find a mistake on the map you can change it yourself. TomTom web site for backup and updating is excellent. Best satnav on the market. Fastest to update and best maps. The only one to buy. Battery life could be a bit longer.
Excellent – Fantastic - would buy again - the 920 seems like the bomb. Phone Support in Australia is fantastic (Navman is the worst support you will ever get !!) - PC Home application works and the mount is great. The TomTom is so easy to use - Its touch screen is the fastest I have used and most of the menus are intuative. The recalculation and ability to… Read more
download fixes is also great wish it had TMS built in. Not the best looking GPS (Navman s90i is best looking BUT is about as good as the wife when it comes to being a GPS - slow and unreliable :))
