Topfield TRF-2400 Questions & Answers
I have just set up our Topfield TRF2400 from new and have Time, EPG and other functions working normally. However, in Settings both Recording and Playback are NOT active and cannot be selected. So when we press the Red Record button to record a program nothing happens. There's nothing in the manual si I would appreciate any suggestions please.
Its been awhile but i think u have to set pre recorded programs if program already started cannot record manual must state record prossess fetch is a lot better a lso make sure clock is accuate setting if to out will not record program make sure your time zone is set properly
U can check if your remote is working by pointing remote into your phone camera and pressing any button you should see a light if not you have flat batteries
My remote won't change channels or bring up anything I have taped
Check batteries also turn camera on your phone point remote at camera u should see a light if not remote brocken u can also open remote carefully and clean buttons and rubber pad wth soapy water or metho or alcahol dry and put together.
Unable to record tv programs, links are dulled out
Topfield PVR Maestro 2400: After disconnecting all cables to tide up the tangle, I have no longer being able to access program guide. Error message says " scrambled signal".If I need to retune the Topfield, please help me with steps to retune. Thank you All for the assistance.
Try checking your prts are tight and u do not have damaged cables make shore antanna cable is tight squeeze center connection lightly so cable feels tight retune through settings
Can i get the youtube working with a mobile hotspot. Whats my options i cant get nbn in runcorn qld
Will connecting this to a non smart lcd give me access to the digi channels and youtube netflix etc or do i need a chromecast donngle still

have a problem with the time on the recorder. If it is set to daylight saving and auto incorrect time shows. If set to manual is ok. Am on the east coast of Australia. Should be a simple fix. Where have I gone wrong ? Please help.
U also have to set time set to your time zone or put on manual and set time

If I format my Topfield do I lose my recorded data?
Yes it clears your hardrive of all recorded data

When I play back what I have recorded it pauses until I push the play button. After I push the play button it plays for about 2 minutes and pauses again. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Can't record because it is telling me that it is full. I delete each program after I watch it so I cannot see why it is full. Any ideas - The model is TRF-2400. Thanks Carol
only answer is formate disk go to settings pick box with spanner press formatte disk
or try turning off power 60sec turn on
I have a TRF-2400 and the hard drive with my recorded shows and the Recording-Recorded Programs could not be selected. I tried to format the hard drive but no go, I plugged in a usb 2TB hard drive [ntfs] and and it then worked great. I recorded a few shows and connected it to my PC ,nothing, I plugged IT back in Toppy, nothing worked, then it started format on internal drive and all OK. How do I format the 2TB to NTFS, THE computer does not recognise this drive now?
Sorry dont know i know you cannot play topfield formate with any other device for copyright reasons you should be able to change computer format tontfs maybe you need a computer nerd

had same thing happened could not recover i just turned completely turned off and reformatted hard drive working ok since if still mucking up put at factory settings there is a phone number and address in previous answers that might help you
My unit has started turning off during replay, reloads itself but then I need to fast forward to start replay again before it again turns off!! Any ideas or is it beyond help?
Not sure on this one Sound like you need a new hard drive mine has been nearly fault free seem maybe you have a damage section on hard drive you can replace with any computer hard drive or ring sa number provided previos
Why cant I change the video format. It is stuck on 5567i. VF button does not work, neither does going into thesettings menu.

set to factory settings
We haven't used our Topfield unit for a few years. We rescanned the channels in but now asks for a pin every time we change channels. Once we entered the pin it works, but as soon as we go to another channel it continues to ask us for pin. Anyone know how I fix this? Thanks in advance.
try turning off your parental control
I can't get back to the program guide or tv? It just all of a sudden stopped recording properly and then when we went into reservations they went missing and now I can only get into recording menu - can anyone help?
I tried everything I could and mine would not record either so it is now put in the back of the cupboard never to be used again as I spent so much time trying to get the machine to work. Also had no satisfactory answers from the company I now just record to USB.
I have some solutions for a lot of you and a place of contact that maybe of help ///people with maybe glitches try to reset to factory settings for at least 10 minutes this may solve your glitch or contact this company;;;the electronic workshop 660 south rd. Hi there. why does my topfield keep asking for the pin? It just started the other day randomly and now it asks every time time we switch channel or menu etc it's very annoying!
try to changing channels from the box if this dose not happen problem in remote control sending wrong signal may be battery going flat or circuit board needs cleaning or get new remote if still the same refer to before answer.

maybe have an answer check to see if you did not accidently put on your child lock this will cause your problem turn it off .
Thanks bon i tried to check parental lock but when I click on settings to go to it it just reboots the system and i can't change anything?
pin is normaly 0000 unless you put in your own
30/4/17. Topfield 2400 Masterpiece. Won't play Scandisk?
I have never used the USB port to play any programs until today. I inserted a Scandisk stick which has MKV files installed on it.
I located all the recorded videos and selected one to watch by highlighting it and then selecting it with the F1 button.
The second I pressed OK or Play the PVR shut down the Scandisk.
Any solution please?

25/5/17. Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately I ended up with the same problem. Selected OK. "Playback Stopped" was displayed. Screen went blank. Tried again. Same result. JM.
I have never had to do this before with my top field PVR 2400 whic I bought back in 2010 but now because I have to reinstall all my TVs channels into it in the installation section it won't let me array this out and keeps asking me to enter a pin code and I don't know what this means. Until I do this I can't use the PVR. Can someone please help with this problem as I have only just found out today that topfiels doesn't opegrate in Australia any more?

i have never came across this problem a pin code is a set of numbers usually put by you or by manufacture but you can try just putting in 0000 or the amount of 0 s needed other wise you need to put in their code you can try contacting Sony I think topfield belongs to them good luck
Thanks Bob for your response to my problem but as you suggested I have already tried putting in 0000 before but this has not worked. The PIN number the PVR is asking for is only 4 digits long but I don't know if it is numbers or letters it needs me to insert and as far as contacting Sony is concerned I can't believe that Topfield belongs to them. Sony do not own Topfield. or have anything to do with them. I believe they are no longer in business. Maybe someone can give you more advice.
My unit has stopped me being able to record, intelligent record etc. Any ideas on what may be the problem and how I can fix it? TIA.
Mine had the same problem but Topfield were no help. I gave up and started recording on a memory stick and watching Netflix. Mine has been relegated to the cupboard.
maybe hard drive stuck give hard tap might release it
