Holy heck. Had these years ago and remembered them well. Just tried a salt & vinegar pack - this is not fit for market. Worst chips I've ever eaten and that's saying something. Devoid of flavour. Literally just threw them out, felt pointless to keep eating. Yet another company that ruined a good product to save a few bob. Will never buy again.

Two years ago, these were by far the best chips on the market. Since then, the quality and taste has decreased to a point where I won't buy them again. They used to be thick and crunchy. Now they are razor blade thin and tasteless. Show details

Update on my review of Tyrell’s Salt and Vonegar chips - the Australian ones are still inedible. Crinkle cut, dry and sandy mouth feel and just weird. But I found a solution when I went to the UK last year - their Tyrell’s chips are the same as what they were like here before they sold out and changed the formula. So I packed several bags into… Read more

my luggage and brought them home. Now my daughter posts a box of them to me every now and then. They are so light the postage is cheap and btw they are a fraction of the price in the UK compared to Australia! So problem solved!

Best chips on the market – So super crunchy and tasty, they blow kettle and red Rock outa the water. Beyond the crunch the flavour isn't too over the top and they are so moreish. Do your self a favour if you love kettle and other crush chips you won't regret Tyrells cheese and onion or the plain salted fsvor Show details

Sea salt & cider vinigar – Disappointing flavour with the Sea salt & cider vinigar. The seasalt doesn't punch through and the cider vinegar is very weak. If the manufacturer could intensify both of those ingredients I probably give an 8 Out of 10, I will give one star out of five.  Show details

The Best – I buy the plain version and they are the best chips I've ever eaten. They have superior flavour and crispness, plus unlike other companies they label what potato variety they use per batch on the back of the packet, which provides the reason for slight variations in taste and crispness. They are also low salt, which is a huge benefit for people on a low sodium diet. Most brands are over salted and greasy. None come close to Tyrell's. Show details

Best chips available – Love these chips. Just annoying there are no longer more varieties available apart from plain, s&v and cheddar. Why is that? Sweet Chilli & Red Pepper was one of my favourites. Show details

The bees knees – Probably the best chips on the market, super crunchy triple fried with good potato flavour. The cheddar and chives ones are my favourite, very cheesy! Show details

Maybe wonderful in the UK but not to Australian tastes. My wife bought these to try but never again. Certainly they were crisp and texture good but no flavour at all and like eating crisp tree bark. Cannot understand the 5 star ratings. Show details

The sunday roast chicken chips were the best chips I have ever tasted... now, like the dodo and thylacine, they are extinct! Why do us humans do this to such beautiful things! I'd happily pay double for them! Show details

Not very nice at all – Mature Cheddar and Chive. These are just horrid chips. The texture is wrong, very crisp but not in a good way, crumbly. The flavour is vile. I don’t know whether it’s the cooking process, the oil they use or if this is how they are supposed to be. They were 50% off at Woollies. Won’t buy again. Show details

Change for profit not the consumer – I recently switched to Tirrells crisps (chips are a totally different product) because the ones I favoured, the Lidls hand baked crisps, had changed due to a change in the oil and temperature that they were cooked, making them too hard to eat and the colour changed to yellow. I was pleasantly pleased to find Tirrells ‘naked’ and sea salted crisps… Read more

were just right, until recently when they too are now yellow and the taste has changed and they are more difficult to eat. I won’t be buying them anymore.

Used to be the best, now can’t eat them – Used to be my favourite chips, before they changed to canola oil. We were happy to manage the fat and salt consumption - we know chips aren’t a health food, but there is too much evidence that canola oil contributes to cancer risk and with cancer rates sky rocketing this is not something to mess around with. In addition, the taste and crunch have… Read more

also been impacted. Not the chips they once were, which is very sad because they were fantastic. Unless they change back, I will never eat another packet. Looks like many others share this sentiment.

Tyrrells old style please – So confused, disappointed, left wondering.....what on earth has happened to those Tyrrells delicious cheese and onion chips? Now hard and brittle like overbaked and stale crinkle cut....not anything like the perfection before! Please bring back old style as I will never buy these "revamped" ones again as they are just oh so not enjoyably tasty any more, definitely not more..ish. Show details

Disappointing – Replacing sunflower oil with a mix of vegetable oils, one of which rapeseed oil, wasn't a great move. The flavour is not the same. It's a pity, they were my favourite ones.

I’m so disappointed!! – Please bring back the original Tyrell’s salt and vinegar chips - they were absolutely perfect. I can’t find them anywhere now and the crinkle cut ones are horrible. None of my friends will buy them either. Why change something so perfect?

What a terrible move,Tyrrells! – The original crisps were the best on the market by far. However, they have now been replaced with crinkle cut, which are awful. They taste stale (ish) and oily, the same as other crisps/chips on the market. I checked the packet for ingredients: 73% potatoes, less than 1% sea salt and the rest is canola and sunflower oil, which by my calculations… Read more

is 26% oil! I was happy to pay the high price for the original crisps, but I won't be buying these awful crinkle cut replacements again. Very disappointed.

Tyrrells crinkly crisp mature cheddar – I fell in love with these crisps in the UK! Why why why would you downgrade everything about the goodness these crisps once had, keep the same crisp cut! Smooth not crinkle please! Show details

Tyrells Potato chips – These brand of chips are lightly salted and much better than all the other brands in flavour and freshness. Having high blood pressure I need to watch sodium intake and these Chips are perfect. Show details

Tyrrells Chips are the best chips ever. My favourite flavour is the Mature Cheddar – The only potato chip I can eat that does not give me heartburn and seems to have less salt than other brands. I absolutely love them. Show details

Used to be better – I first came across these chips a good few years ago and they were the best I'd had. I had them in the UK, and was excited to find them here. But they seem to have changed. They used to be the real deal, very thick, skins on, not too much salt - you could see the potato. Now they seem more like Kettle or Red Rock chips. Just, not as good as they were. Show details

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE???? GONE FROM THE BEST TO WORST OVERNIGHT!! I WONT BE BUYING AGAIN!! – WHEN WILL COMPANIES LEARN TO LEAVE AWESOME ALONE!!! Congratulations…. in a blink of an eye you have completely ruined the best chip on the market. The great potato flavour has gone… so has the Tyrrellls Crunch. the seasoning was barely there and you’ve lost 3 loyal fans..my son is devastated! Definitely won’t be back unless you go back to the original chip. Whom ever made that executive decision should be fired!!! Show details

Why change a good thing – What have you done with Tyrells Slow Cooked chips/crisps???? I am so disappointed with the new version. They are tasteless, awful texture and no crunch. Just like every other brand on the market. I will never purchase these chips again. Such a shame and you should listen to your customers. Show details

Take overs now KP owners – Since the take overs it's gone from the best crisps that used original seasonal potatoes to bland red tractor assured variety that every other manufacture uses . I thought it tasted bad noted the quality of the crisps were small and had burned bits. The flavour is not the same so I have from today stopped purchasing them not worth the higher price. Shame they sold out to big business . Show details

Goodbye great chips - hello mediocrity – Tyrrell's have totally lost the plot by reinventing this product. I used to really like these chips because: 1) They were not crinkle cut, and: 2) They had a unique texture and traditional flavour. The flavours are now completely bland, the texture is awful, and they actually taste worse than other crinkle cut chips. Yukky, yukky, yukksville!!! Show details

Better in a container!!! – The sea salt and cider vinegar is better in the container!! The ones in the bag doesn't taste the same! The chips in the container is more crispy and has more flavor. Shame on you. Show details
