U-tec Ultraloq U-Bolt Pro Series

I'm in agreement with the other reviews on this product. It is possible that I received bad locks, but from my personal experience I think that this lock really shouldn't be on the market. I purchased this WiFi deadbolt and the Ultraloq Latch 5 (WiFi and NFC). They are great looking locks however both are exhibiting the same problem where the WiFi disconnects (e.g. after a power or NBN outage) but sometimes doesn't reconnect and you can no longer manage your lock remotely. Also the batteries don't last more than 2 months at the very most - and that is with very minimal usage (I was using new sets of Duracell batteries each time). Their customer support is actually pretty decent. I was able to get help trouble shooting the locks & they did end up sending me a replacement, but unfortunately the aforementioned problems persisted. Their final solution for the WiFi connection problem was to remove and reinstall the batteries every time the WiFi disconnection problem occurs, which might be ok if you are living at the house or close by, but no good if you want to say, manage an AirBnB remotely. Notwithstanding the WiFi issue, just the poor battery life I'm getting from these locks is enough for me to recommend avoiding these Ultraloq products. UPDATE: I have presisted with these locks for around 9 months now and I think that a new firmware upgrade has helped the situation a little. The battery life still isn't good, and only three indicative levels of charge provided by the locks & app (high, medium and low/replace) doesn't help. The time scheduling feature doesn't work and can't be trusted if you are remotely managing the locks. They take an inordinate amount of time to connect when managing remotely, but eventually connect, sometimes after one or two timeout/retry attempts (my local WiFi signal is good at the lock location). Ive upgraded my rating from 2 to 3 stars, but probably still wouldn't purchase again.
Purchased at Amazon.
We had a U-tec U-Bolt Pro installed 2-3 years ago. Worked perfectly well until recently when it started wearing batteries out in a week (previously batteries lasted about a year). Followed all instructions, firmware updates, resets and checks with no resolution. I quick google review showed this is a known issue. U-tec decided the unit was defective "known electric component issue" but was out of warranty. I provided receipt, delivery address etc. The offered 30% of a replacement but only for US customers knowing im in Australia????? Further they informed me the locks are no longer manufactured (they are obviously faulty). Please don't make the mistake I made and steer clear of U-tec.
Purchased for $265.
I bought the Ultraloq U bolt Pro series in 2021. The wifi connecting bridge is dodgy and doesn't connect with the lock very well. The smart lock doesn't operate well with Ok Google Or Alexa. Linking the smart lock to the home controller is tedious. The fingerprint sensor stopped working last year, and the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functions also stopped working this year. The lock isn't smart anymore; it opens with manual keys and number codes and doesn't notify. I have reset the lock multiple times and followed all the troubleshooting instructions without any response. It might be a small glitch with the sensor connecting to the lock assembly, but there is no solution to that. The Australian contact rarely gets connected, and they won't listen to any complaints once the lock is out of warranty. There is no local support, and the company advises purchasing a similar product with a discount. There are so many online forums discussing the sensor problems and innovative function issues. I should have red the trouble shooting reviews before buying the product. It is an American company with no service in Australia.I will advise you to buy a product either made in Australia or which has a good local service centre.
