UpDown Desk PRO Series

2 years of use and a very heavy load (>100kg) - still going strong – Purchased the UpDown Desk Pro Series (frame only) 2 years ago now. I chose it because it has the highest carrying capacity (160kg) out of any of the sit/stand desk options I could find, and I was going to put a lot on it. least 50Kg) with a built in full length pine drawer (5kg) that has a full size Yamaha electric keyboard (25kg) on it, then on top of the desk a PC (7kg) a large curved monitor (10kg), monitor arm (5kg) and a subwoofer (3kg) for a total over 100kg, the motors have glided the whole lot up and down repeatedly without issue.

Exceptionally happy with this purchase, and hoping it will last 10 years or more.

Re other elements of the desk? Easy to build, easy to use (controller works fine), cable ties to hold the cables under the are not durable enough (a couple of them broke when taking the cables in an out when moving the desk).

comparisons which gave it a really genuine Australian vibe.

While I believe the mechanised components are made overseas, it was really nice to pick up an Australian made tabletop. The assembly was also really easy. A key benefit I believe was the video from UpDown desk highlighting how their packages come delivered, with the selling point being that no package was too heavy or unwieldy. On delivery, one of the boxes appeared to have been retaped as the weight of the contents had broken the seal. There was no damage present though.

In regards to actually using the desk, it goes up and down everyday with no issues. Not really much else to say about that - it just works well.

When my wife needs to update her desk I will definitely be getting another UpDown desk.

The bad -------- 1- Delay in shipping of the second part (which included the top timber desk). The frame arrived in no time but the top bench and the accessories arrived after a few days and an escalation .. 2- When the desk arrived, it had a small damage on one of the edges. I did not bother to return it (Although I could and I am confident that they would do something about it) but I did not want to wait again to enjoy my desk especially after the shipping delays. The damage seemed to me that it had been caused by the shipping. Updown desk people should have considered adding extra protection to the packaging of the top bench like timber frame, etc. 3- The colour of the White desk is not pure white but soft of off-white a bit (I was able to spot the that easily because I had a fixed Ikea desk before) - minor thing but did not give me a good feeling of the quality. 4- The control unit (the button box) seemed to be made of cheap plastic 5- Does not have the option to Child lock (this was a disappointment) but I think I should have read the features carefully before buying .. now wondering what options do I have to work around that..

controls and memory functions are simple and work well. I confirmed the motors are strong enough to lift my body weight. At the maximum height, there is minimal sideways wobble and at the lower heights there is no sideways wobble. The power board and cable channel work nicely and conceal cabling. Assembly instructions were clear. Very happy with my transactions with UpDown Desk. P.S. Toby, I'm really going to enjoy my desk ;)

It fits perfectly in our corner spot! The quality is outstanding and sturdy, smooth height adjustment, and plenty of workspace for both computer and accessories. shout out too for incredibly prompt deliveries. These are heavy parcels, and one delivery was literally 24hrs from instigation to receipt.

I was unlucky enough to get a desk with a manufacturing fault, but the timeliness and generosity of the response to that issue was SO impressive I am still smiling about it - great service is hard to find but so so satisfying!

The monitor arm mounts they sell are very robust and confidence inspiring even with my heavy old Dell 24” monitor and newer but still heavy 27” and 30” monitors hanging off them, with no sagging. The team were very helpful with questions I had about the fitting to my monitors.

The cable support and metal drawer work as advertised and look good, (the spot on top of the drawer easily takes my 16” laptop) and the bamboo desk top is just lovely to look at and use!

And the primary function? Excellent - the desk is solid with minimal wobble and inspires confidence it will keep working a long, long time. Having spent 2 days working with an electric sit/stand desk, I will never use anything else again unless forced to!

Very sturdy built desk frame – Bought a updown frame back in early 2018. Still holding up well and never skipped a beat! Installation was relatively straightforward even for a non-handy person like myself. Never had to reach out for support so far. These desks are just so sturdy, reliable and they don't feel like they're going to tip over or spill your coffee (my colleague has an Officeworks equivalent and is about to upgrade for this reason). Weight rating and sturdiness were an essential part of my decision.
