A lot of customers have valid cards that have money on them (they show the current balance online) however the cards still decline. People can’t get into contact with head office and emails go unanswered…. Just seems like visa/ vanilla are cashing up from vouchers that aren’t valid half the time. Strongly recommend not using these cards!!!
If the product is faulty then all the best getting a replacement card. It is hard to get a telephone number to talk to them and when you talk to them they are rude. If yoou send an email they will not reply back even though in the email it will say that they will get back to you. Please DO NOT BUY the vanilla gift card. I would actually not give this product any stars. The credit card I received as a gift was actually scammed. But the worse thing is that the customer number service just sends you around in circles and the mybalancenow does not work either so you have absolutely no recourse. explained this to their customer support who are in India. The lady I spoke to was rude and direct and said they won't extend the expiry even for 24 hours. I asked to speak to a supervisor. After waiting 5 mins I speak to another person who I believe was just another person. The previously person must have just pleaded with this so called supervisor to stick to the script and offer now gesture of goodwill. Direct and firm response that the card is expired. number and security code (CVV) were completely missing – like they weren’t printed at all. How is that even possible on a brand new card?! I lodged a claim immediately with their customer service. It took them 2 months just to say they’d send a replacement card… and then they said that would take another month to arrive. In the meantime, I moved house and changed my address. I informed them right away, and they asked for proof of the new address. I submitted everything they wanted immediately. They claimed they sent the replacement to my new address. It never arrived. They mumbled something about “it may be fraud” and said they’d “send for investigation.” After waiting another 90 days for their so-called investigation, they finally came back and said they are unable to pay me back because the fraud amount is “unreasonable.” What does that even mean?! They basically admitted fraud happened but refused to refund my money. This company is a complete thief and fraud operation. Awful, incompetent customer service that lies, delays, loses track of their own promises, sends cards to wrong addresses, and then blames the victim when crooks use the card overseas. DECLINED! So I call the number on the back and they tell me that the card is now blocked for fraud alert because of the many declined transactions. They then tell me that there is nothing they can do about it and I have to wait to get a new card in the mail. when I did get through it was an Indian man who barely spoke English and didn't understand a word I was saying. I ended up asking to speak to someone who speaks English but he put me on hold for ages so I hung up. Do not buy one of these cards. They are now called Visa Gift Card For You so stay away as they are a fraudulent company and you can't get through when you have a problem and even if you finally do, you have to speak to someone who actually barely speaks English and can't understand you.
The cards we received for Christmas both didn’t work and have no PIN. Then we tried the website and repeatedly get errors in logging in. Then called the number of the back of the card we were able to set PINs but only some shops work. These are a scam and I have asked everyone I know to avoid using them

RESOLVED - make a complaint through https://www.afca.org.au/make-a-complaint and be sure to request the purchase fee as well as the gift card amount. same story as everyone else. i have made sure to let them know that i'll be reporting them to scamwatch.gov.au and if i don't receive resolution in seven business days that I will be contacting the Financial Ombudsman (AFCA) - hoping this might result in a quicker outcome.
I carefully guarded my Vanilla Visa gift card until I opened it and discovered that $500 had been stolen just three weeks after purchased it. The Vanilla gift card information was likely stolen by someone within Vanilla.
Follow-up · Has the problem been resolved? No, no one has responded. Are there any other anomalies? The thief seems to have X-ray vision, able to see through hidden code. Did you contact customer service as soon as possible? Yes, I contacted them immediately after discovering the problem.
WARNING! Do not purchase these cards! Bought one for a friend, few card numbers were scratched off when opened, contacted Vanilla, provided everything they asked for, months have passed without resolution. They’re using stall tactics to prevent reimbursement in the hope I’ll give up. Scam!
