ease of removing the pump basket lid, but it is absolutely critical to remove basket frequently. Waterco unfortunately haven’t though about customers when designing this pump.

about two hours a day in winter, and works perfectly combined with our “the Pool Cleaner”, two wheel pool cleaner.

I sourced this pump online after a ridiculous quote from the local pool shop. However a shop not too far away gave a great quote and a very reasonable delivery price, so I ordered it and fitted it myself. We've had the pump now for two years, and I absolutely love it. The power use is a fraction of the old one, in fact about 300w (on low power) instead of 1100w for the old pump, and it is also dramatically quieter. Although water flow is less on low speed, it actually filters better due to lower flow rate through the sand filter. We run it for about the same amount of time as the old pump, so we have a huge power saving. We only need to use the high speed setting for back washing. My only very slight criticism is that the the leaf filter is smaller than my old Poolrite Pump, a minor inconvenience.
