Western Digital My Cloud Mirror

Western Digital supposed upgrade to OS5 makes a MyCloud NAS unusable – I delayed the supposed upgrade to OS5 for as long as I could but they kept sending emails stating support for OS3 would finish early next year. The upgrade itself went fairly smoothly but the problems since the upgrade have been ongoing and are terminal. After spending countless hours trolling through the WD Community and 6 or 7 calls to WD Support, I have just ordered a new NAS. I managed to sort all the problems with security access using windows by making changes to windows services and making changes to the registry of all the computers connected to the MyCloud. WD support advised to change the SMB setting which has fixed the internal security faults, but now the MyCloud has slowed to the stage it is unusable. I tried in vain to add a second user, which failed and effectively used all the processing power. After this debacle I would not purchase a Western Digital product in the future if I can avoid it.

Horrible Product to set up – Spent 3 hours still cant work out how to set up my WD. I had another WD Passport that was also very difficult product to set up so gave up after trying to set that up, i made a mistake buying WD CLOUD again was really dissapointed to see it was really hard to understand how to set this up. Really dissapointed.
