A lot of people have issues with the Wilson Super x. They don't work well with modern outlets that restrict pressure . Restrictions and aerator should be removed as these units work on water pressure to activate and stay on . Turn you hot on full and then adjust with your cold . If your still having issues the either your cold water pressure is to low or one of your electric phases is out or not producing at full capacity.... Show reply

Lasted 2 years and 1 month, so just outside the 2 year warranty. My plumber tells me he sees a lot of these dieing at around 2 years. You might get lucky and have it die at 1 years and 11 months. I'll replace with another brand that is more expensive but with a 7 year warranty. Very sad as I try to support Australian manufacturers. Show details

Upgrade Wilson instantaneous hot water units – Not changed since 80s Make available an adjustable temperature control same as with storage units or gas instantaneous A product to enable flick mixer use longer life Suppress electrical contacts engaging noise requires complete upgrade as mine is in laundry. approximately every 2 years isn't value for money considering those issues & excessive water use 2 maintain a usable temperature. I've used single phase instantaneous units in Thailand incorporating a dial in temperature control & last longer than my Wilsons.

functionality of Wilson Wisk 6 – we have had issues with this unit since the plumber first installed - when trying to reduce the hot by adjusting the cold the water would either be hot or cold no adjustment was achieved - now its even given up after 1 years use - a disasterous unit with intermittent use Show details

Just had the Wilson Super X installed recently and I’m really happy with it. With everything getting more expensive these days, I needed something affordable that would still do the job. Super easy to set up, doesn’t take much space, and heats water fast. No fancy features, but it works well. Definitely recommend! Show reply

Had a Wilson Super X installed for my 86 year old mum and she was having issues with water not being hot enough from day one. The plumbers couldn't fix the problem even though they had installed it. But they did refer me to the Wilson rep for Perth, Hayden, who came out straight away and managed to pin point the problems within a few minutes. He… Read more ·  1

was amazing! One of the problems was too much water was going through the system 10lt/min when it should have been 5-6lt/min not giving the system enough time to heat it up. He also noticed an incorrect inhibitor (I think) that was originally installed by the plumber on the Wilson heater which also had to be replaced. He was also happy to take the time and liase with the plumbers and myself multiple times. So accommodating. The correct replacement part was delivered to mum the next day and the plumber replaced it. All covered under the warranty. You don't get this sort of service any more with most products. My mum now has hot water and we are extremely grateful to Hayden. Thank you!

Jack came to my 102 year old mothers house and did a great job repairing the hot water heater, no mess and no fuss. Thanks so much Jack, really appreciate your help. Cheers Ian Wooldridge Show details ·  1

Poor product and poor customer service – When we bought the house it came with a Wilson Super X. Just a few month after we moved in we only had luke warm water. Called a plumber and he told us its a write off. So we ordered a new one. The plumber came and put it in. It was working fine for 2 years. For a couple of weeks now, we can only get scorching hot or freezing cold water. Contacted… Read more

Wilson. They told us it is outside warranty. They gave us a number to ring for one of their tradies in the area. We rang and never got a response. We are now in contact with a local plumber and it looks like this Wilson unit is also broken. Wilson Super X. Never again. Poor customer service and poor product.

Shouldn’t be on the market – If you are a landlord do not use this hot water system for your properties. I know, it’s cheap and seems like it’ll get the job done, but I can guarantee you WILL get complaints from your tenants and unless you want to fork out more money for replacing the entire HWS you WILL eventually get breached for either not being able to provide hot water… Read more

or by causing physical harm to your tenants via this horrible unit. Wilson, you need to pull this product from the market.

My recent experience with Wilson Hot Water was nothing short of excellent. After a brutally cold night without a hot shower, I made a hopeful call to Wilson, enquiring about servicing my faulty unit. My unit was out of warranty, and I had no clue what to expect with regards to timeframe / cost of service, etc. Leanda directed me to Hayden,… Read more ·  1

Wilson's WA sales manager, who came in clutch. Hayden's transparent communication and 'leave it with me' attitude was reassuring. His eagerness to help was evidenced by his efforts in arranging for a technician to come by as soon as available.

I was lucky enough to have Jack, a trusted electrician with a plumbing license and 30 years of experience, come by early the following morning. And 'just like that', we had hot water!

Thank you to Leanda, Hayden, and Jack for all your help.

Was reading product reviews as I had a small problem with my Wilson X hot water system and sent an enquiry asking for Wilson approved electricians in WA. for one of his top people to look at the system with no cost to me which they did today. I got a call this morning that they had offered to replace the hot water system even though it was out of warranty. Only charge was a small labour cost. I was delighted with their willingness to help and sort this out immediately. Hayden and Lee were very helpful and I recommend anyone with previous unhelpful help with their hot water system to give them another chance. Five stars - thank you.

Poor quality. Sub-standard performance – Don’t use this product. As per other reviews element burnt out just outside the 2yr warranty. Customer service lady was never helpful. When it did work, was always difficult to regulate temperature. Am surprised this Company is still selling this product Show details

Stopped working after 3 years – Unit produced only warm water after 3 years. Contacted manufacturers, they advised it was out of warranty after 2 years and to contact repairer. Repairers quote ( over the phone) was more expensive than the original installation. The unit that this replaced was an everdure that was 15 years old. Show details

They don't last very long – It's one of the cheapest ones around. But I put in a new unit in 2011 and again in 2018, and now have to get a brand new one since the second one no longer works. Will be going for a better unit this time round as the amount of money spent calling out a plumber just isn't worth it. Show details

Not bad luck—bad product! – After a little over a year of use, I've had to replace my Wilson SuperX HWS—the second replacement in under two years. I asked the plumber about it. He told me, ‘Sounds like you’ve just had a bit of bad luck, mate’. Sounds like you just gave me a lazy answer, mate, is what I say to that. Now the third one’s gone kaput. That’s three in under five… Read more

years total. No good. And not a matter of luck. After a year, sometimes a tad longer, the water pressure drops and the water doesn’t rise above warm. Next stop: glacial waters and soap. Would not recommend to my mother in-law. Well, maybe. No good and then some.

If I could give zero stars I would for the Wilson X HWS – I've purchased 4 of this crap HWS over the past 10 years - they seem to work for about 6 months then there's endless problems with the water temperature etc. The guy from Mt Hawthorn that services them Glen - is also a scammer. He charges exorbitant fees to come out to look at the HWS and blames it on the shower head which isn't the case as I've… Read more

changed the shower head and taken out the restrictor and the problem still exists - the water is too hot and then you turn on the cold water and something cuts out the HWS so its either boiling hot or freezing cold - I've had enough of the Wilson X - I'm going to replace it with an alternative and never buying one of these stupid HWS again. Just a waste of money and effort and call-out service fees. The people over in the Eastern States are full of it as well and blame the installer when clearly its the product in the first place. Don't waste your money and buy this - it'll only give you stress.

Do not recommend - 12 month lifespan – Wilson SuperX (model WISX) Unit was installed in a rental in Sep 2019 (manufacture date July 2019), provides good hot (HOT!) water until one or more of the elements burns out, as happened sometime Oct 2020. Tested by measuring resistance across the 3 elements, one of them is open circuit. The unit includes thermal protection circuitry to cut off… Read more

at some point but this apparently doesn't stop possible burn outs. In general, there's no built-in temperature control or sensing, meaning temperature varies significantly based on water flow rate. Once everything is warm however, the temperature generally stays the same. Also makes a loud clicking noise when activating which can be very annoying in a home environment.

Life span in WA is circa 3 to 4 years. The elements in most cases fault to earth. Change the quality of the elements – Main problem is the poor quality of elements The main fault is that the copper sheath splits. Element leaks to earth. Change element to nickel sheath and this may give the element a better life span. Show details

Zero Recommendation Hot water system – I got this with one of our rental and it's just dead in 4 years, can't believe that we have to spend another $1200 for the new machine, It's really not worth for money and not recommending Wilson Hot water system. Rip off prices have bought 6 units – Have had 6units in 18years,the best of them lasted only 6 years, the worst one lasted less than 2weeks!! I have just replaced another one which has lasted 4years! Noticed the price has increased by $102 since I purchased the last one in 2014! Quality control, forget it! 5years warranty that's a joke, you get 2years on a fully installed replacement unit, paying nearly a $1000.Do yourself a favour, don't buy this crap!!  Show details

Either freezing or scolding hot – Absolute rubbish, two plumbers have told me to get rid of it and get a different one. Known problem. Water comes out either scolding or freezing and no where in between. Only way to have a decent shower is to have a tap in the basin running hot at the same freaking time!!! Washing machine will only run hot water even on a cold setting. Clothes come out scolding hot??? Even after adjusting the valve on the water system.  Show details

Scolding or freezing – Has a hot water low flow rate shut off. There is no thermostat to adjust hot temp which would solve this problem. Such a frustrating unit! Would not recommend. Our options are now to try a increase the bore size pipe to the boiler to try and get more water pressure. Or solder in some rheostat thermostat control. Most likely I will just bin it and get a real boiler !!  Show details
