you have the xbox locked behind a cabinet you have to physically go and turn it on. That defeats the purpose of a remote. Allows the console to playback DVDs Cannot remotely turn on device

xbox into a dvd playing machine. The xbox has great graphics and will prove useful as a dvd player cannot yet be brought for $40 dollars. THe fact that you need this DVD movie playback kit is the biggest con. Microsoft have done this to make an extra $40 from every single person that buys an xbox.

normally through your Xbox without having to fumble with the controller to find the correct button. It has always worked perfectly for us. Can't think of any.

stand-alone DVD player, it was definitely a better choice. The remote control also comes with some nice functions including a zoom tool which was unlike any other player.

If you can pick one up cheap they're still a great accessory for an Xbox. Allows the playback of standard format DVDs, converting your xbox gaming console into quite a nice DVD player. Extra cost, doesnt come with your xbox as standard, somewhat unstylish remote control.

Excellent – This remote cost around $40 and allowed us to use the XBOX as a DVD player. The remote is quite tough and has been stood on a few times without breaking. It is nicer than most remotes because it has a nice ergonomic shape that fits the hand well. A must buy !! Good – I havn't really had problems with it, except one of my DVD's couldn't play on it for some reason. I guess this could save you money on buying a seperate DVD player. Allows your Xbox to play DVD's, and is quite handy. Should of been built in, you need the remote to play, it would of been better if you could just use the Xbox controller to simply play the DVD.

we have been through two of them already, if it breaks only some dvds run without it which is frustrating, it takes a controller spot which is irritating, and it should of been built in.

It seems sneaky to sell a product which can play a DVD. But make you purchase additional equipment to use it.

The Infrared receiver plugs into a game socket.

I would have thought that they could have made a plug for it. Freeing up controller space.
