Nowhere Near As Good As The Xbox360 Was – Console is digital only, so game purchases are limited to the Microsoft online store and gamepass (if you want to pay a monthly fee to be part of it). I was hoping to get more enjoyment out of the Xbox and gamepass but there were only a few games I wanted to play on it. After that time, which was only two months, I stopped paying for the service… Read more

and we stopped playing with the Xbox and returned to the Nintendo Switch because the Switch has HEAPS of great first party games whereas Xbox has just a few. The Xbox has gathered dust for years until the last month where my son has got it out of the box to occasionally play a game of Fortnite.

The console is unobtrusive in the home environment (not like the PS5), but it does stand out a little bit more compared to the Switch. The console does work though and I haven’t had any problems with it, unlike the PS5. The Xbox Series S does get a little hot at times during the hot Australian months. The controller is light and good. Not as good as the Switch Pro controller or the PS5 one, but it gets the job done. It requires batteries and seems to chew through them very fast. I much prefer the rechargeable controllers of Nintendo and Sony.

Evaluating the Xbox, there’s no way we got our money’s worth.

Great except – except the small storage size. Agreed with other review that you'll end up with 3-4 games and have to constantly uninstall reinstall to make room if you want to play other games. Other than this, I do love it. Show details

Who doesn’t love a gift that keeps giving – When purchasing this I didn’t realise I would be buying a monthly subscription to Xbox so I thought at first it was a bit harsh. Then thinking more about it if you bought your kids 2 games for birthdays and Christmas it’s about $300. The game pass gives you every game, all year round. The Xbox itself has very tough controllers (ours have been… Read more

dropped a few times) and the set up was basically plug and play. It has connections for all types of add ons and can plug directly into a hard line for quicker speed. Suggest getting a second controller immediately to avoid the kids taking your one (lol).

This is not worth it – The series s xbox at 500 gb is not worth it it has serious lack of internal memory with some new games up at the 80 to 120 gb size you end up with 3 maybe 4 games I feel this is done on purpose to force the xbox series x sales higher and to buy extra memory is very expensive all this with the added price of new games up around the 100 dollar aus… Read more

these console become a money pit. To update the series s has started to misbehave cuts off controller mid game

  Fair Incentive Verified

Fast small console – Owning a 75" premium LG 4K UHD TV and Yamaha small 5-speaker home theatre system to really show off the features of the Xbox series S console. Fast clear graphics when playing free game WarFrame from Microsoft store. Sound is excellent when playing the console, even though there is no unnecessary audio optical cable connection from the console… Read more

because the sound travels through the HDMI cable to the TV where there is already an audio optical outlet on my 2020 model LG TV that connects to my Yamaha home theatre system. Popular video apps like YouTube and Amazon Prime definitely show strong clear 4K-available videos, movies and TV shows with hardly any glitches if you have strong NBN internet service. Microsoft's Edge browser is lightning fast when searching for my favorite retail and videogame shopping websites. It's like having a console and laptop in one for fast feature experiences.

Love it - great graphics, great price – I compared the price and the specs between the Xbox Series X and the Series S. I felt that there really wasn't too much of a difference in the graphics and as the Series X is sold out I thought I'd give the Series S a try. It's great - I'm really impressed with the graphics, I haven't noticed an issue with the smaller storage size either.  Show details
