Wet / Damp Grass Performance

Design wise not as good as other electric mowers – Purchased at Bunnings but notice now its discontinued. Overall easy to assembly except for Catcher, it needed 2 people to align and clip in. Disadvantages : ON / OFF handle (5) keeps slipping so mower disengages when mowing, changing cutting height positions is a pain to lift and lower levels, Advantages :- Mower light so anyone can use, Inserting & removing catcher from mower very easy & Operation wise mower works well.

Purchased in at Bunnings Warehouse Retail Stores for $99.

Cheap but goes well – For a $99 lawn mower this is a little beauty! I dont have a huge yard - approximately 100sq.m and the XU1 cuts the grass well, and the grass is collected effectively in a good sized catcher. Height adjustment is limited which is a negative, but the XU1 is lightweight and easy to manouevre. The electric cord can be a bit of nuisance, and take a little getting used to, but its not that bad. Overall a good mower for a small yard. I'd buy another one if I had to.

Cheap and nasty – Bought this electric mower from Bunnings when on special at $99.00. It would probably be suitable for a thick and even lawn mowed regularly, however if there are any dry or bare patches the mower directs dust straight at you through a vent in the top cowling. This is a bad design fault and I feel this mower was a waste of money. The other inconvenience is you have to use two hands to turn it on, one to press a lock/off button and the other to squeeze the "on" handle, you cannot do this with one hand and you need to do it every time you empty the catcher. But the bigger problem is the vent spewing dust and clippings straight at your face. Not recommended, pay double and get something decent.
