corn tortillas. Traditionally tostadas are fried corn tortillas topped like an open sandwich but understanding this does not work on a frozen and reheat concept. However using a corn tortilla for the stack would work and be tasty. A frozen and reheated flour tortilla tastes like soggy glue and spoils the excellent filling recipe.

first week, I have suffered from crippling fatigue, headaches, constipation, and dizziness in that time. I have reached out to the customer support line, however, haven’t had a response. My GP was happy for me to start this program. I’m hoping these symptoms will ease. I don’t want to waste the shakes as I can’t get a refund and they were quite costly. Also the website is not user friendly. There is no generic search button that I can find and I have spent days trying to work it out.

independently and I have control. Hate the layout of the new app though.

My rating is not based on the actual program, I s based on the sub-standard customer service offered when something goes wrong.

I had a simple app error. Should have taken five minutes took at least and hour but I suspect longer. Couldn’t get past AI to reach an actual human because they had my date of birth wrong meaning I couldn’t verify myself. They instructed me to download the app on my Windows PC when they don’t even have a compatible app for that yet. It doesn’t exist and I was ‘supported’ to look for it for at least half an hour. Then told to wait for response from tech team.

They got a response from their tech team which they never passed on to me. I received an email asking if it was fixed days after initial report (wasn’t even given any options to do this at this point. I replied ‘no’ and never heard back. The list keeps going. In addition, throughout the two long phone calls I had with them, I never received an acknowledgement or apology for the inconvenience or for the indisputable errors and incompetence at their end.

I would have given a 4 star rating (would have been a 5 star prior to app update) but this was all overshadowed by the very inadequate support available when an issue arises, hence the 2 star rating.

signed up for a support person, but noone called me. Sure I could've called to check but by then I knew I wasn't liking the food, and knew I was't losing weight. I lost weight when they had in person in town service, and could switch out foods, but not on mailorder plan. And, when I called to cancel, (I said "cancel my subscription, please"). they said it was too late for this order, and would I like to switch some foods. I said yes to that, and the person I talked to said she'd change the foods. I never changed to say don't cancel the subscription. So that order came with the changed food (still not to my liking). But I checked the account and it said cart was empty so I figured the person I talked to had done what I had asked, canceled my order. But No, then 2 weeks later another delivery. I called and they said I hadn't canceled. I was angry and again said cancel the subscription but I did hang up on the person I talked to who again wouldn't cancel the order that hadn't yet processed. But I did say "cancel the order." 'Guess what.. 2 weeks later another delivery appeared. I called again, but later I figured I would look online to see what the fine print said, and found a chat. I cancelled again on the chat, and no I didn't hang up this time. Hoping the cancellation is now complete. Terrible, it is a gimmick to get you not to leave. That is probably because they are going under. I also asked them to stop sending advertisements, but they are still doing it.

Life-Changing! My Energy, Weight, and Confidence Have Never Been Better! I cannot recommend this gut health program enough! As a busy mum, I was… Read more

exhausted, bloated, and struggling to lose weight no matter what I tried. I felt stuck in a cycle of frustration, and nothing seemed to work long-term—until this program changed everything.

From day one, I noticed a difference. My energy skyrocketed, my bloating disappeared, and for the first time in years, I felt lighter—physically and mentally. The best part? This wasn’t another restrictive diet or quick fix. It was a complete lifestyle shift that actually worked with my body, not against it.

I finally understand how gut health is the foundation of everything—my mood, my metabolism, my sleep, and even my skin. And let’s talk about weight loss—I’ve shed stubborn kilos effortlessly because my body is finally working the way it’s supposed to! No more struggling. No more guessing. Just real, sustainable results.

But what truly sets this program apart is the support and guidance. It’s not just about the products (which are incredible, by the way!). It’s about learning, growing, and feeling empowered to make lasting changes. The way this program is structured makes it easy to follow, even as a mum juggling a million things.

If you’re a mum who feels tired, sluggish, and like your body just isn’t cooperating anymore—this is the answer. If you’ve tried every diet, detox, and program out there but keep hitting a wall—this is different.

This program has helped me feel like me again—happier, healthier, and more confident than ever. I’m forever grateful!

motivation.

The video qualities were not great and could do with an update. But in a way I don’t mind it as well because it shows that in real life that’s how it is for many busy families esp moms trying to work around young kids.

I like the junk food section of the recipes. It’s good. I don’t like the fact that it’s mainly a lot of salad and minimal fruit and no grains. I think this should be updated as there are now a lot of science based data that’s been done on women that needs to include whole grain carbs and higher protein intake that helps build lean mass and lose fat.

People don’t eat enough greens so I think the menu focusing on greens is a huge uptick. I think we need to be wise to work around our lifestyle. Like I eat lots of greens but tweak it to add some whole grains and eat more protein than the program says. It works for me.

So I think Sharny and Julius should look at those days and review and update their current information with regards to nutrition.

But I don’t want to be too critical, they are doing what they know to work for them. The price is ok. Not too bad like I said no monthly recurring payments.

I do like Sharny and how she comes across. She seems nice but another comment not sure if it will help but her nipples do show a lot in a lot of her marketing material. It is funny, a bit distracting. She can dress a little more covered in her nipples to appear more professional that will help.

But overall I think it’s ok. I tend to add on more exercises personally … but it’s not a bad program

Types of diet and weight loss programs

Meal replacement products

Meal replacement products are kiloujoule-controlled products - often liquid drinks - that are designed to assist with weight loss. These products generally try to help users shed weight quickly or do a detox or “cleanse” of their body. Because of this, they're typically only meant to be used over a short period of time, or to only replace 1 or 2 meals a day.

Weight loss drinks, such as the VLCD Optifast diet drink are often found at supermarkets, pharmacies, and health stores.

Ready-made meals

There are now a plethora of food delivery services that offer healthy, ready-made meals as part of a diet plan, however you may have limited access to these if you live in a more remote area.

If you want to save time and energy and forgo grocery shopping and cooking altogether, then ready-made meals such as Jenny Craig meals might be suited to you.

Recipes and meal plans

Recipes and meal plans are exactly what they sound like: programs that include recipes for meals that help you reach your health goals and plans for when you should be eating them.

For some, a weekly planner of what and when they should eat helps motivate them to achieve more long-term goals.

What to consider when choosing a diet or weight loss program

Your personal circumstances

If you already have a health condition, then make sure that your program is suited to your specific situation.

You may already follow a diet, such as a vegetarian or vegan diet, or have certain religious or cultural requirements when it comes to food; a good diet for you shouldn’t make you abandon these beliefs and preferences.

Your diet should also match your eating style and lifestyle. If a plan encourages only two meals per day but the three you eat currently still leaves you snacking inbetween meals, then it’s probably not suited for you. Similarly, if it recommends 2 hours of exercise per day and you’re a relatively sedentary person, then don’t assume you’ll be able to easily follow it.

Also consider whether your diet would accommodate eating out, and how much food preparation is involved - time-poor people may have less choice in weight loss programs.

The diet itself

Any Google search on weight loss will yield results on a bunch of popular diets, but just because a diet is popular, does not mean that it is safe, healthy, and effective.

A good diet should:

  • Meet your nutritional and health needs
  • Include a variety of foods from all the different food groups
  • Be realistic

Be skeptical of diets that:

  • Avoid entire food groups
  • Promise rapid weight loss without medical supervision
  • Recommend unusual foods or eating patterns (such as restricting food altogether)
  • Encourage the use of pills and tonics that are thought to help you lose weight

Here’s an overview of some common diets followed today.

  • Keto diet. A keto (ketogenic) diet is a low carb, high fat diet that’s designed for you to get more calories from protein and fat and less from carbs.
  • Paleo diet. This diet tries to emulate the same diet followed by hunter-gatherers before the development of agriculture. It emphasises lean protein, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and whole foods, while cautioning against grains, processed foods, sugar, and dairy.
  • Mediterranean diet. Traditionally followed by people living in the Mediterranean, this diet is rich in foods such as fruit, vegetables, seafood, and wholegrains, with dairy and poultry eaten in moderation. It’s widely considered to help prevent heart attacks, stroke, and type 2 diabetes.
  • Pritikin diet. This is a low fat, high fibre diet that limits red meat, processed food, cholesterol-rich foods, refined grains, and alcohol.

Not all diet programs will follow a specific diet. In fact, most healthy and effective programs take your dietary preferences into account so that you’re more likely to follow through with it.

The CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet, for example, is a 12-week program that generally follows a high protein, low GI plan, but is still tailored to your specific diet personality. It not only includes a CSIRO diet plan that facilitates sustainable weight loss, but also includes simple weight loss workouts that you can follow at home.

Effectiveness

It’s easy to get sucked in by testimonial ads and dramatic before and after weight loss pictures, but try not to take a program for its word without doing your own research.

Reading reviews will help you see whether the program was effective for different people - this can refer to whether they’ve felt healthier or better about themselves, whether they’ve made steps towards their goal weight, or any other personal diet or health goals.

It’s also a good idea to see how easy or difficult reviewers found the program, and whether they enjoyed it. A simple-to-follow, enjoyable (and tasty!) program will help ensure that you can actually keep up the program and sustain any health results you achieve.

Support

Some people prefer to follow a diet program on their own, while others prefer extra support, such as from a dietician or similar professional, or a support group with others who have similar health goals to them.

Think about your own personal preferences and what helps motivate you. For some people, talking with someone about their progress, either online or in person, can help keep them accountable to their goals.

Price

Diet and weight loss plans can vary a lot in price, depending on what kind of food or exercise they entail. Make sure that any program you choose is one that you can afford in the long run.

You may even be able to find free online weight loss programs, however these often only give you limited access to a more comprehensive meal plan that you need to pay for.

Extra tips on choosing a meal plan for weight loss

  • Keep your doctor involved in your weight loss efforts. Before you start a program, speak with them so that they can check whether it’s suitable for you, your medical issues, and any medications you might be taking. They can also help dispel diet myths and help you seek additional support from a dietician or other health practitioner.
  • Choose a program that includes foods you actually like and would happily eat forever.
  • Supplement any diet plan with physical activity and exercise. If your goal is weight loss, then moving your body can help counter the muscle mass loss that occurs when you lose weight.
  • If it sounds too good to be true and promises rapid weight shedding with little effort, then it probably is.
